Not sure how it got injured. I found it at dusk on the ground and unable to fly. So we kept it for two days in our porch to keep it safe from predators until it could fly again. Flew out today!

Sadly, Boy In A Dress was reluctant to give me any photographs of his past exploits
that would give us a clue on time-scale. The few photos he eventually tugged from
his quite-warm cleavage gave nothing away except intrigue.

Although the one in the Mae West life-saver (I think that's what its called) I believe
is from an incident during the Philadelphia Experiment. I will investigate more.
