My suggestion is perhaps we have several different styles lined up for an arc of contest..


January-
Fan Fiction

You the author in your favorite universe


Februrary-

Retread

Write a story for an Actor that is no longer Acting
But the Actor has to be alive


March-
Alternate history 

The story has to be set in an Alternate universe
(LFS- lol- Nazi's won, Americans lost ARW)


April-
Fantasy
The stories are required to be in a fantasy setting


May-

TV show pilot

you write a TV show pilot for a specific network


June-

Romance

You have to write a romance novella


July-

Military
Can be set in different genere

but has to be pure military fiction


August-

Childrens story

A childrens story as if it was going to be sold in a childrens market


September-

Novel Sequel

Write a sequel to a novel that does not have one to your knowledge
or perhaps needs a better one


October

Horror

Why because it is halloween time


November

Non fiction

The hardest one
Find a non fiction idea and write at least a ten thousand word entry on the subject


December

JJ Abrahams Reboot

Pick a movie you love and do a Reboot for the franchise

This is just an idea

Probably a better than nothing plan but to be honest I am not one for themes or directed articles.. Never felt a need to stretch my writer legs when the subject is not what I am currently working on or interested in.. Just me sorry.

Not just you Sky, I -too struggle when a theme has been suggested...
In fact, my last offering was twisted to fit under the heading!

I enjoy a themed writing contest, when I'm in the mood to write. Which hasn't been lately. I like the themes suggested in the opening post.
