Now, you would think that an outfit named "National GEOGRAPHIC" would have some smattering of an understanding of geography... but whomever wrote this article seems to be sublimely oblivious to geography. For example, they state that, due to "climate change", the north pole is migrating towards the prime Meridian, which runs through Greenwich, England. The problem with that statement is that ALL of the meridians, the Prime Meridian included, end AT the poles. The north end at the north pole, the south end at the south pole. The north pole cannot be "moving towards" the Prime Meridian, because it is already AT the Prime Meridian, and has been since a prime meridian was invented.
It further states that the pole is moving towards where ice is leaving, because the ice takes mass with it and deposits it elsewhere. Here's something to try: get a kids top, slap a gob of clay on it, and spin it up and watch. The wobble moves TOWARD increased mass, not AWAY from it. It moves AWAY from reduced mass, not towards it.
This is basic high school physics, not even all that advanced.
"Science" should be shunned until logic returns to it and politics exit from it. It's not really "science" under those conditions.
It's just politics for profit.
