That's right - when the pyramids were already old and cuneiform was already a long-established medium of communication in Mesopotamia, mammoths still roamed the earth on Wrangel Island! Cute, cuddly pygmy mammoths.

And I beg to differ with the assessment that mammoth hair was "gray" - it was usually auburn, a sort of reddish-brown. Yellow hair was not unknown among them, but if this species was predominantly yellow, then that will be something new.

I've held up well for my age - would you like to know the secret, long forgotten recipe for heather meade?
Diogenes was eating bread and lentils for supper. He was seen by the philosopher Aristippus, who lived comfortably by flattering the king.

Said Aristippus, ‘If you would learn to be subservient to the king you would not have to live on lentils.’ Said Diogenes, ‘Learn to live on lentils and you will not have to be subservient to the king.’
