Its exactly the same in the UK.
And its not just TV advertisement; every single programme has to have its diverse cast of races, creeds, genders and sexuality regardless.
Period and historical dramas, news and current affairs, sports programmes, quiz shows, soaps.....absolutely everything.
86% of the UK population are White.
7.5% of the UK population are Asian.
6% of the UK population are Black or Mixed Race.
Approximately 95% of the UK population identifies as heterosexual.
Watching TV you would never, ever believe those figures were true.....but they are.
I passionately believe racism is an abomination, truly horrific.
We still have problems with racism but we have made huge progress in my lifetime and we must remain vigilant against ALL forms of racism and inequality.
But what we have at present is setting race relations back decades.
We must demand that every person is judged on their own individual merits and not on race, creed, gender or just as importantly here in the UK social class and background and that every single one of us has an equal opportunity to reach our potential.
Constructing a false image via TV and other media outlets is nothing but social engineering and incredibly deceitful.
The overbearing weight of this programming and indoctrination is beginning to seriously alienate large sections of our society which will in turn just create more division and tension.
Who benefits from that?
