Congress, for the most part, does not fulfill its obligation as representation of the citizens. Period. They don't. The reason they continue to get away with it is because the average American has no clue on how their government is supposed to work. They look at it as professional wrestling with good guys, bad guys, and the spectacle.

What did we get out of Iraq? I have no idea. All I saw were zillions of dollars make the rounds through the country, not into the country. The lives of the Iraqis I knew changed little.

The whole thing has made me so bitter and pissed off at my fellow Americans, I can't even talk about it. Covid and Ukraine has just nailed the coffin shut extra tight. They are beyond help. Sorry if I am derailing and ranting.

Nossir, that was your war - you earned the right to rant about it. Carry on.

Diogenes was eating bread and lentils for supper. He was seen by the philosopher Aristippus, who lived comfortably by flattering the king.

Said Aristippus, ‘If you would learn to be subservient to the king you would not have to live on lentils.’ Said Diogenes, ‘Learn to live on lentils and you will not have to be subservient to the king.’
