A Horrible Story

Is the story true
If the vaccine kills , lets say 1 in a 1000000, should we still use it ?

There is enough detail in the story that it can be checked out for veracity.

The vaccine is probably not a good idea for that 1 in a million you mention. The answer to that question involves yet another question that begs to be answered before the original question can be answered: how many killings are acceptable? What if that one in a million ticket happens to be yours, or mine?

And, finally, I don't think we have enough people vaccinated to determine the death ratio, but anecdotally from what we have, it seems to be a good bit higher than 1 in a million.

Diogenes was eating bread and lentils for supper. He was seen by the philosopher Aristippus, who lived comfortably by flattering the king.

Said Aristippus, ‘If you would learn to be subservient to the king you would not have to live on lentils.’ Said Diogenes, ‘Learn to live on lentils and you will not have to be subservient to the king.’
