Several years ago I stumbled upon a documentary video on YouTube, titled "Sand Wars. It was over an hour long and I was so drawn into it that I showed it to several of my relatives and friends, watching each time as if I was watching it for the first time.
I believe you can watch it on Amazon Prime, or Netflix.
I am including the trailer and a bit about what the issue is with our lack of respect for another of Earth's important resources. Something we thought of as of little value, and was once considered abundant, belonging to all that lived upon this Earth. Just the way we once thought of water.
Sand. Such a simple, unglamorous, often viewed as a nuisance, thing. Yet our interaction with it has the power to swallow up islands, shrink our beaches and coastlines, collapse homes and futures, and destroy lives.
If you are the least interested, take the time to watch "Sand Wars". The problem is getting bigger faster, and it won't be long before the impact is felt globally, far away from the coasts.
