Looking at the proposed property tax statement I just got in the mail, I am going to lose my home under either system.

No property should be taxed when it is a primary dwelling. I don't care how big you want your house to be (it's mostly air on the inside after all, ain't it?).
In the process of buying it, you've paid in far more than your fair share of the taxes that 'should' be used to run this country.
That the 'law' even allows for it ... is tacit proof we are slaves to the government ... all you have to do is move 90 degrees and look back at it from the new perspective.
