My Dad. He would have been ninety six years old this year. Imagine that...

Born in 1920, he has been a son, a brother, an uncle, a father and a grand-father. Was sunk twice during World War II, survived twice. My Dad married after the war and had four children, three boys and a girl, me being the youngest. When my Mom passed away at the early age of thirty six, my father, then a restaurateur, closed shop to concentrate on all of us, so that we would not miss anything. He showed us the virtues of perseverance, love and compassion.

To me, my Dad has always been and will always be a Hero. He passed in 1992 and to this day, I still miss him. I miss his wicked sense of humor, I miss his smiles, I miss his presence.
