Orion, Ancient Egypt, and the Mason Connection
#1
The three bright stars in Orion's Belt are known as the Three Kings or Three Sisters: Alnitak, Alnilam, and Mintaka.

The Ancient Egyptians placed Orion the Hunter into their mythologies and were the first to write about him. One of the most important gods of the Ancient Egyptians was Osiris, the sun-god of rebirth and afterlife. They associated the stars of Orion with Osiris.

Quote:Orion was considered the abode of Osiris following his resurrection. Isis dwelt on Sirius. In Egyptian mythology, Osiris was murdered and dismembered by his jealous brother, Seth, then briefly brought back to life by his sister and consort Isis to father the god Horus. Egyptians saw Osiris in the Moon, whose phases caused the all-important Nile to rise and fall each month, and in the constellation Orion, whose appearance was connected with the annual flood. As god of the dead, Osiris welcomed the recently deceased to their new world.

Robert Bauval proposed that the Giza pyramids were a physical representation of the three stars that make up Orion's belt.

Quote:There is some support for the fact that the Pyramid Texts (which date to the fifth dynasty but were most likely formed from earlier religious concepts) make frequent references to the connection between the the resurrection of the king and Sahu (The earliest Egyptian representation of Orion).

The Port Adelaide Freemasonic Centre, Number Two Lodge of South Australia is built in the form of an Egyptian Temple, which should dispel any doubt that Freemasonry is a child of the Ancient Egyptians. Until only a few years ago in South Australia the Freemasonic Lodge Room was called the Temple.

Quote:Hieroglyph for "Temple"

The overall shape of the Temple is of paramount importance as it is an Ancient Egyptian hieroglyph meaning "temple"!

There are many Masonic Orion Symbols, such as, the Awen symbol used along with Masonic symbols such as the moon and the sun and pentacle below.
The Awen symbol represents Orion's Belt in the constellation of Orion: Alnilam, Alnitak, and Mintaka. LINK

Quote:The goddess Ishtar with the symbol of a lion which links the goddess with the constellation of Orion because the lion has a connection to Orion for example the sphinx and the Giza pyramids which are built to Orions belt and the sphinx is a lion. Ishtar is seen with her arms raised as well symbolic of the constellation of Orion. She is thought to be the equivalent of the Virgin Mary (holy spirit) in lower level freemasonry because freemasons believe in transcendent gods and goddesses through time.

According to Egyptian mythology, the gods descended from the belt of Orion and Sirius– the brightest star in the sky. The ancient Egyptian civilization firmly believed that from Sirius and Orion beings came in the form of humans– Osiris and Isis and they instigated the human race. If this is true, then could the Masons have knowledge passed down from these Star People through Egyptian documentation that is so secret it can't be shared with the rest of the world?

In the video below, it states that the Ancient Egyptian Royalty were "Negroes". (Obviously, this is an old film!)
I, however, disagree. Just because a person's skin is dark, it does not place them into the "Negro" category. Much more needs to be considered: For example, look at the eyes, shape of the nose, and in some cases, the elongated skull.

What are your thoughts?
