The long answer is ... Goddamnit Och NOoooooooooooooooooooo! ... and here is why? ... Here is where the standards are to test them are ... They never 'dropped'! We never met them in the first place BIAD. UN Universal Declaration of Human Rights. Quote:Article 1. This document is the ONLY commonly agreed upon document (for example I do NOT agree that all it takes to be human is genetic homo sapiens DNA equivilence to make you human) that we have available and article one TOTALLY defines what it is to be human (note that it doesn't say when one is born human and its exactly the same as when is one becomes a born again christian) and the two properties required, reason/logic and caring/conscience, CAN be tested for. Nobody is born human because babies can't consent to taking the tests (plural ok) to see whether they are human or not and there are two tests to take and they will fail at least one of the tests if not both. Babies are often unreasonable and also don't care about everything and are mostly selfish and unreasonable. Hence people are born as MONSTERS and they remain that way for most if not all of their lives. It's the rare few who grow to meet both standards required and its very hard to remain human and therefor humane as one can easily lose their humanity and its harder to get back the 2nd and subsequent times. Monsters are ALREADY devolved. They are usually lazy and dumb .. but occasionally they are very industrious and work hard at being dumb and that causes even more problems. Personal Disclosure: Here is a prime example of a REAL human being ... Her name is Sandra and she is from the Orangutang species. She was found to be human in a court of law and given human rights, which have been unfortunately ignored currently. Argentina Grants an Orangutan Human-Like Rights An appeals court sets a precedent by giving an ape legal rights to life, liberty and freedom from harm Sandra Orangutan Declared a Person With a Right to Freedom An Argentine court has recognized intelligence as a reason to confer personhood AS for real evil walking the earth that is a big YES and I said we start out and mostly remain monsters our whole lives. If you're not a conservative born again christian [aka Catholic ... although Orthodox has the correct understanding but they don't have the numbers required to be a majority] then you're a satanist. It takes a shyteload of compassion, forgiveness (aka Grace) and reasonable logical understanding to become human ok and both can easily be affected for the worse by many things in life. I hope this clears things up for everybody and answers the questions posed. RE: Are We Getting Worse As Humans? - BIAD - 05-18-2019 OL, I think you may be right in regards of us failing to reach the level of a decent standard in the first place. Taxi leaves an old woman 40m from here home in the winter, the old Lady was returning from treatment at hospital. The poor Lady was found dead in the snow next day. The bastard taxi driver was too lazy to get out of his car to help her.( If I remember right its the law that disabled people must be got to there home safe not dumped near to it.) Thing is the taxi driver was from Iraq. Thing is I cant ever remember a "Finnish or Swedish" taxi driver ever doing that, so i believe also that the problem does not lie so much with our culture, but more with what we have let in. source (use google translate) RE: Are We Getting Worse As Humans? - BIAD - 05-20-2019 (05-20-2019, 08:10 AM)Wallfire Wrote: ...Thing is I cant ever remember a "Finnish or Swedish" taxi driver ever doing that, so i believe also that the problem You mean something like what one of Mystic's links indicates...? Some days I think that we are hopeless and that the whole world is going to Hell in a hand basket. But I find hope in the fact that every time I hear of these kind of atrocities, it is still shocking, because they are still rare in their occurrences. I find hope in the fact that these acts make me physically ill, they make me furious, and they make me want to stop them. I fear the global sharing of these events, mainly for shock value, titillation, and attention, will increase there occurrences, because for some people, bad attention is better than no attention, and they will accept hate, if they are deprived of love, just so they will feel something. These evil acts have little to do with race, culture or geography. Evil runs through the veins of all that will give it a home. RE: Are We Getting Worse As Humans? - Sol - 06-24-2020 I think that the world has always been full of monsters. We hear more about them now because of the medias and social networks. Also, factor in the world population at 7.8 billion people, to be over 9 billion by 2050, that measures up to a shitload of new monsters still in infancy and/or not even born yet. Won't get any better any time soon. Atrocities like these have been part and parcel of human existence since the get go. However, I don't believe that we are born as monsters, I think it's more likely that some people are born lacking something. Some have no empathy or remorse and I strongly suspect that some are soulless. Evil is real, but there are still good people out there. RE: Are We Getting Worse As Humans? - Wallfire - 06-24-2020 I agree with SOL and Wondercow, its always been the same. I believe we are all born evil, no matter how good a person is given the right conditions they will do evil. If you want to take a dark look at humans they do two things, Evil and less Evil. Some religions embrace evil, some try to fight it but at the end of the day its the question of the level of evil. I totally agree. To bring down an evil person, I found, I had to think evil and undertake some very 'out of the ordinary' things. I don't consider myself evil, just that, well I found a lot of evil people smart and to get them you had to step outside the rules or guidelines. This isn't considered fair. Not that I did anything evil to outsiders, just the target nasty person. I saw a lot walk but did see some get what was coming to them. In saying that I subtly used evil to counter evil and masked the existence of such. Now, being in retirement years I still see it many times on an individual level but I'm a bit worn out and the past is difficult to live with. I question my methodology. Hence I am a bit of a loner and often suspicious. Gone out on a limb here but my elder brother put it succinctly once in saying, "You've seen too much evil." Yeah, I now agree and am trying to repair that but the thoughts and visions still haunt me. I shake my head at times and my 'true love' wife says, "Stop thinking about it." Why do people do such things to others let alone their family, children, friends and pets. My thoughts, Bally. RE: Are We Getting Worse As Humans? - Wallfire - 06-24-2020 There is a saying "For evil to win it only takes good men to do nothing" People must understand that for "good " to fight "evil" good must become more evil than evil if it is to win, then good must pull its self back from the evil. Thing is good never fully pulls its self back from evil, each time good fights evil and pulls its self back from evil the good base line is moved a little more to evil. Many things that were seen as evil 30 years ago are now see as normal and part of life. The base line of good resets each time it fights evil but always resets pushing good closer to evil. The base line of good resets each time it fights evil but always resets pushing good closer to evil. You have made me think. What you posted has a strong ring of truth to it, yet it seems to be missing something. What is troubling me is that, as many have said, man is not a stranger to evil. In fact, evil seems to be a frequent companion. A companion that most of us try to reject and ignore. Sometimes we are more successful at keeping our own evil at bay, than at other times. There is an old Native American story that speaks of that constant battle we wage. Then I also see the good side to us more often too. Some days I feel sick to my stomach when I read things like that, other days I am filled with hope when seeing people do selfless things and when we come together, even for a brief moment. So my answer is, I don't know! One of the true good and horrors of humans is that two humans can look at the same thing, one sees good the other sees horror I enjoy forums where people openly and honestly communicate. I find myself intrigued and puzzled, more than offended, when I come across a post that shares a viewpoint that runs opposite of mine. I frequently make the mistake of thinking if I properly educated the person with the opposing mindset, they will see the error in their thinking, and make an adjustment. That is always a mistake, because that never happens. My friends are honest and correct when they call me an information junkie. I can be obnoxious in my quest for understanding. Everyone has an opinion, and it is usually based on their own life experiences, but the overwhelming influence of the media and the virtual infusion of social media, has made many exchange reality and commonsense, for a world lived vicariously. This often creates a huge problem, because a vicarious experience brings out emotions on a much deeper, sometimes visceral level. It is extremely difficult to come to terms with truth or reality when you have to first win the battle of emotions. I think as we grow older we grow not wiser, but perhaps more aware. Our life experiences become resource data from which we can use to make better choices and decisions. As it has been said, some things you can't unsee, especially those things that we find repugnant. I think evil is multilayered. It is hard for me to explain what I mean because the word itself immediately generates a mental image for each of us, and it is never static. Evil is constantly morphing, sometimes it is so translucent that it is near impossible to see. Hope is what I think keeps most of us afloat. Love and compassion is what keeps away the darkness. |
