Cornell scientists create ‘living’ - guohua - 04-20-2019 Okay, In My Humble Opinion, what these Scientist have created is just Dangerous and Wrong! Quote:Cornell scientists create ‘living’ machines that eat, grow, and evolve Quote:The field of robotics is going through a renaissance thanks to advances in machine learning and sensor technology. Each generation of robot is engineered with greater mechanical complexity and smarter operating software than the last. Now you know there will be a group of Progressive Liberals out there that will wanting to give these robots Human Rights and probably allow them to Vote. Quote:Scientists from Cornell University have successfully constructed DNA-based machines with incredibly life-like capabilities. These human-engineered organic machines are capable of locomotion, consuming resources for energy, growing and decaying, and evolving. Eventually they die.Self-Reproducing Machines!!! They say that this new life like robot or machine ages and dies. Really!? What if it doesn't? What if it decide Humans are an Insect or a Nuisance? Of-course this new life force would not move against it Creator,,, No never! There is a video on the Source page. RE: Cornell scientists create ‘living’ - Wallfire - 04-20-2019 I have for a long time now been worried about Von Neumann machines, because once they are started they reproduce and improve themselves without any help from humans. What if the machines deem human flesh the best for there system. People need to stop and think about what they are doing RE: Cornell scientists create ‘living’ - BIAD - 04-20-2019 (04-20-2019, 07:03 PM)guohua Wrote: They say that this new life like robot or machine ages and dies. Really!? That's the problem with artificial intelligence, any decision-making doesn't involve morals, optimism, regret and doubts based on unknown variables. It just does it! RE: Cornell scientists create ‘living’ - Mystic Wanderer - 04-20-2019 After a few years of being exposed to 5G it won't matter. Actually, it may be hard to tell who is the human and who is the robot. We'll probably get along splendidly. |
