Please try to keep us updated about this RE: Shots fired at veterans’ home in northern California. - Ninurta - 03-11-2018 This is impossible. It has to be fake news. You see, California has the strictest gun control laws in the nation, and we all know that when tragedy strikes, those laws are passed so that tragedy absolutely cannot strike again, and that laws are absolute and work every time. "Assault weapons" are illegal in California, banned. So are magazines which hold over 10 rounds. Because those laws are in place, an occurrence such as the one reported absolutely cannot have taken place. This is utterly impossible. I do hope that the gentleman pulling the trigger was not using an assault rifle or "high capacity" magazine while shooting these people, as either of those things would make his actions in prosecuting a massacre against folk illegal. He could be subject to heavy fines and/or imprisonment for using such items to kill folk. Wait! Isn't killing folks illegal in most jurisdictions already? Maybe, just maybe, folks who kill folks are already intending to break a law? IF they are, what is to prevent them from breaking a few more laws along the way? Maybe legislators haven't thought this through logically. I know! let's pass ANOTHER law! That'll keep it from happening again, fer shure! There's a conspiracy theory that bad people don't follow laws, but it's just a crazy theory! I just have to ask this - of what use is passing law if only honest folk obey them? Wouldn't that just create a super class of honest and law-abiding - and unarmed - victims? Doesn't that mean that "the law" is of no real use to anyone but criminals, who benefit greatly from the inability of their intended victims to shoot back? Logic can be your friend, but it seems that legislators have abandoned logic in favor of something called "the vote", and that voters voting for them probably never got acquainted with logic in the first place... and these are the dumbasses trying to rule MY roost? It boggles the mind! . |
