Scientists Connect the Human Brain to the Internet - Mystic Wanderer - 09-18-2017 If your goal in life is to be turned into an AI cyborg, then your dream is coming true! I, myself, have no such desire, so I'll forgo the hookups to the world wide web and just live out the rest of my life being fully human, thank you very much. Even now, people marry by using their avatars as their personality and engage in behaviour that really belongs in a bedroom this side of the computer screen. Personally, it's not for me. The only interaction with this false world is the Rogue Nation website, news (are we still calling it that?!) and the odd game of solitaire. Although, I do sometimes daringly click onto the live Loch Ness Monster web-cam. It's just the party-animal in me, I suppose. RE: Scientists Connect the Human Brain to the Internet - Wallfire - 09-19-2017 Perhaps Willian Shatner got it right with his books about TEK RE: Scientists Connect the Human Brain to the Internet - Wallfire - 09-19-2017 I remember reading about a research that was done many many moons ago, it involved electrodes been put in the pleasure center of rats brains , the rats were then shown how to push a leaver that would give a small electric shock to the pleasure centers. The thing is the rats stopped eating and drinking and kept pressing the lever till they died. They killed themselves because the need for pleasure took over completely. I think tec is moving faster than we can understand the effects it will have on us. |
