We salute all the veterans who fought to preserve freedom. All gave some, some gave all.

And there is yet more to be given by future generations. Will we ever learn?

.
Diogenes was eating bread and lentils for supper. He was seen by the philosopher Aristippus, who lived comfortably by flattering the king.

Said Aristippus, ‘If you would learn to be subservient to the king you would not have to live on lentils.’ Said Diogenes, ‘Learn to live on lentils and you will not have to be subservient to the king.’

Sheesh...

That was probably just some piss ant wanting to pat himself on the back and feel special because no one else will pat him on the back for being a good boy... so now he wants to re-brand himself a "hero" to see if anyone will pat him on the back now. Pro-tip: rebranding a skunk as a "rose" does not change it's basic character.

War Memorial Defaced With the Words “The Real Heroes Are the Vaccinated!”

Sheesh...

I would like to suspect it's a buried unexplored jealousy that the person who daubed the words would never genuinely
believe they held. Every year, the majority of people pay tribute to others for a concept that some in recent generations
struggle to even comprehend -never-mind agree with. It's a form of selfishness born from an ignorance of the situation
of real war.

The idea of killing another human being isn't the only aspect of real war -although, many would say it's the ultimate
aspect, it's the whole gamut of what urges an individual to put themselves in harm's way for a belief. The training, the
loss of that individuality in order to create a fighting machine, it all takes time and commitment, a patience beyond
most folk today.

Many died alone and without direct acknowledgement.
No multiple Tweets and coloured candles, no shiny Gifs and photos of grieving loved ones, just some kid drowning as the
bulkhead doors are closed on a sinking ship or man who realises he won't see his family again as he lays in the mud smelling
his own bullet-ripped offal. Even Hans Zimmer fails to offer sad music because... because it's real life and real death.

In the case of the past wars that those who took part that are commemorated, the world is believed have become a better
place and created generations that became so far-removed from the actions that occurred to make them who they are today.

What is war today...? Well, it's disagreement, verbally attacking another to undermine a confidence in an opposing belief.
Physically clambering out of a trench at the sound of a whistle and running towards one's enemy is now seen by today's youth
as working in a unit to mentally defeat who they now call 'an enemy'. All done from one's bedroom or at the most, in a street
with like-minded idiots and attacking buildings that don't fight back.

Hell, we even drone-strike now and the person behind the button watches it from a screen... just like we watch Matlock
or I'm A Celebrity.

People fought -really physically fought and died, to allow someone to spray that silly comment onto the names of the fallen.
That shit wipes off, but the realities of what happened to create a world where this can happen, will never be erased.
And that's what galls those who do this sort of thing, those names made a difference and the vandal subconsciously envies
them for it.

Hopefully there'll come a day when the person who painted that shite on the memorial will realise this.
