Second Letter by French Soldiers: “We are Talking About the Survival of our Country”
#1
https://www.thegatewaypundit.com/2021/05...l-country/
Quote:A second group of French soldiers have penned another open letter to the French government, published on conservative news magazine Valeurs Actuelles, again warning of “civil war”. The letter writers chose to remain anonymous this time, after the French chief of staff threatened disciplinary action against the signatories of the first letter (Gateway reported).

The letter has so far been signed by 250.000 supporters. The authors describe themselves as young soldiers on active duty. “We are what the newspapers have called the ‘Combat Generation’. Men and women, active soldiers, from all services and ranks, from all opinions, we all love our country. These are our only claims to fame.” Even if they have to hide their identities due to the threat of reprisals, the letter says, “it is impossible for us to remain silent.”

The letter writers accuse President Emannuel Macron of “concessions” to Islamism on French soil, while the country’s soldiers “shed their blood to fight the same ideology in countries like Afghanistan, Mali and the Central African Republic.”

As in the previous letter, the letter warns of an impending “civil war” threatening the very existence of the French nation. The authors of the letter indicate that at least some of them took part in the domestic military operation Sentinel, launched after the terrorist attacks in Paris in 2015. “We have seen how certain ethno-religious groups in France live completely separate from the rest of the country”, the letter said. For such groups, “France means nothing more than an object of sarcasm, contempt or even hatred”.

“We see the violence in our towns and villages. We see communism taking hold in the public space, in public debate. We see hatred for France and its history becoming the norm”, the letter states. “It may not be for the military to state these facts, you might say. On the contrary: because we are apolitical in our assessments of the situation, this is our professional observation. We have seen this decline in many countries in crisis. It precedes the collapse. It heralds chaos and violence, and contrary to what you claim, this chaos and this violence will not come from a ‘military coup’, but from civil war.”

“We are talking about the survival of our country, of your country.” The signatories expressed their support for the retired generals who signed the first letter in Valeurs Actuelles, and were critical of the government’s response, calling it “pretty perverted” to crack down on dissent from patriotic military concerned for the future of their nation.

“Cowardice, falsehood, perversion: this is not our vision of the chain of command”, the letter said. “On the contrary, the Army is the place where we tell the truth because our lives depend on it.” If a civil war breaks out, the letter says, “the military will maintain order on its own soil, because it will be asked to. This is the definition of civil war. No one can want such a terrible situation, our elders no more than us, but yes, again, civil war is brewing in France and you know it perfectly well.”

when 250,000 armed service members sign a letter and tell you you better stop kissing terrorist asses, you might better pay attention and start cleaning up the no go zones in your country.

And 120 retired U.S flag officers just signed a letter questioning the legitimacy of Biden's election and the current state of governance.  Distinct schism in DoD is my guess.

Quote:120 Retired Generals, Military Officers Sign Letter Warning Of Conflict Between Marxism And "Constitutional Freedom"

[Image: picture-5.jpg]by Tyler Durden

By Jack Phillips of the Epoch Times
More than 120 retired generals, admirals, and military officers signed a letter that warned that the United States is embroiled in an existential fight and called on “all citizens” to get involved in local and state politics.
“We are in a fight for our survival as a Constitutional Republic like no other time since our founding in 1776. The conflict is between supporters of Socialism and Marxism vs. supporters of Constitutional freedom and liberty,” stated the letter (pdf), which was signed by 124 former generals and admirals, released by “Flag Officers 4 America.”

The letter also posited that opposition to proposed bills and laws that would strengthen election initiatives has troublesome implications.
“Election integrity demands insuring there is one legal vote cast and counted per citizen. Legal votes are identified by State Legislature’s approved controls using government IDs, verified signatures, etc. Today, many are calling such commonsense controls ‘racist’ in an attempt to avoid having fair and honest elections,” the letter added.
According to the Flag Officers 4 America website, it is a group of former military leaders who “pledged to support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies,” who are “domestic” and “foreign.”
Of note, signatories of the letter include retired Army Brig. Gen. Donald Bolduc—a Senate candidate in New Hampshire, retired Army Lt. Gen. William Boykin, and retired Vice Adm. John Poindexter—who was the deputy national security adviser for President Ronald Reagan.
“China is the greatest external threat to America. Establishing cooperative relations with the Chinese Communist Party emboldens them to continue progress toward world domination, militarily, economically, politically, and technologically. We must impose more sanctions and restrictions to impede their world domination goal and protect America’s interests,” their letter also said.
Other threats they listed include the United States re-entering the Iran nuclear deal, illegal immigration, and the stoppage of the Keystone Pipeline project. President Joe Biden issued an order halting the pipeline project early on in his presidency.
Meanwhile, amid the COVID-19 pandemic, the retired military leaders said that lockdown orders impacting schools and businesses are tantamount to “population control actions.”
“We must support and hold accountable politicians who will act to counter Socialism, Marxism and Progressivism, support our Constitutional Republic, and insist on fiscally responsible governing while focusing on all Americans, especially the middle class, not special interest or extremist groups which are used to divide us into warring factions,” the letter added.
The letter concluded by urging “all citizens to get involved now at the local, state and/or national level to elect political representatives who will act to Save America, our Constitutional Republic, and hold those currently in office accountable.”
Some former military members questioned why the letter was sent.
Retired Adm. Mike Mullen, the former head of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, said that the letter “hurts the military and by extension, it hurts the country” and said it contains GOP “talking points,” according to Politico.
Meanwhile in France, dozens of retired generals were sanctioned after they recently sent a letter warning about a possible civil war over the “protection of our civilizational values.” They blamed France’s leadership for not dealing with what they described as unfettered immigration into the country.

Quote:

Open Letter from Retired Generals and Admirals
Our Nation is in deep peril. We are in a fight for our survival as a Constitutional Republic like no other time since our founding in 1776. The conflict is between supporters of Socialism and Marxism vs. supporters of Constitutional freedom and liberty. During the 2020 election an “Open Letter from Senior Military Leaders” was signed by 317 retired Generals and Admirals and, it said the 2020 election could be the most important election since our country was founded. “With the Democrat Party welcoming Socialists and Marxists, our historic way of life is at stake.” Unfortunately, that statement’s truth was quickly revealed, beginning with the election process itself. Without fair and honest elections that accurately reflect the “will of the people” our Constitutional Republic is lost. Election integrity demands insuring there is one legal vote cast and counted per citizen. Legal votes are identified by State Legislature’s approved controls using government IDs, verified signatures, etc. Today, many are calling such commonsense controls “racist” in an attempt to avoid having fair and honest elections. Using racial terms to suppress proof of eligibility is itself a tyrannical intimidation tactic. Additionally, the “Rule of Law” must be enforced in our election processes to ensure integrity. The FBI and Supreme Court must act swiftly when election irregularities are surfaced and not ignore them as was done in 2020. Finally, H.R.1 & S.1, (if passed), would destroy election fairness and allow Democrats to forever remain in power violating our Constitution and ending our Representative Republic. Aside from the election, the Current Administration has launched a full-blown assault on our Constitutional rights in a dictatorial manner, bypassing the Congress, with more than 50 Executive Orders quickly signed, many reversing the previous Administration’s effective policies and regulations. Moreover, population control actions such as excessive lockdowns, school and business closures, and most alarming, censorship of written and verbal expression are all direct assaults on our fundamental Rights. We must support and hold accountable politicians who will act to counter Socialism, Marxism and Progressivism, support our Constitutional Republic, and insist on fiscally responsible governing while focusing on all Americans, especially the middle class, not special interest or extremist groups which are used to divide us into warring factions.
Additional National Security Issues and Actions:
 •

Open borders jeopardize national security by increasing human trafficking, drug cartels, terrorists entry, health/CV19 dangers, and humanitarian crises. Illegals are flooding our Country bringing high economic costs, crime, lowering wages, and illegal voting in some states. We must reestablish border controls and continue building the wall while supporting our dedicated border control personnel. Sovereign nations must have controlled borders.
[Image: 1-1205bb4966.jpg] [Image: 1-1205bb4966.jpg] [Image: 1-1205bb4966.jpg]

China is the greatest external threat to America. Establishing cooperative relations with the Chinese Communist Party emboldens them to continue progress toward world domination, militarily, economically, politically and technologically. We must impose more sanctions and restrictions to impede their world domination goal and protect America’s interests. •

The free flow of information is critical to the security of our Republic, as illustrated by freedom of speech and the press being in the 1st Amendment of our Constitution. Censoring speech and expression, distorting speech, spreading disinformation by government officials, private entities, and the media is a method to suppress the free flow of information, a tyrannical technique used in closed societies. We must counter this on all fronts beginning with removing Section 230 protection from big tech. •

Re-engaging in the flawed Iran Nuclear Deal would result in Iran acquiring nuclear weapons along with the means to deliver them, thereby upsetting Mideast peace initiatives and aiding a terrorist nation whose slogans and goals include “death to America” and “death to Israel” . We must resist the new China/Iran agreement and not support the Iran Nuclear Deal. In addition, continue with the Mideast peace initiatives, the “Abraham Accords,” and support for Israel. •

Stopping the Keystone Pipeline eliminates our recently established energy independence and causes us to be energy dependent on nations not friendly to us, while eliminating valuable US jobs. We must open the Keystone Pipeline and regain our energy independence for national security and economic reasons. •

Using the U.S. military as political pawns with thousands of troops deployed around the U.S. Capitol Building, patrolling fences guarding against a non-existent threat, along with forcing Politically Correct policies like the divisive critical race theory into the military at the expense of the War Fighting Mission, seriously degrades readiness to fight and win our Nation’s wars, creating a major national security issue. We must support our Military and Vets; focus on war fighting, eliminate the corrosive infusion of Political Correctness into our military which damages morale and war fighting cohesion. •

The “Rule of Law” is fundamental to our Republic and security. Anarchy as seen in certain cities cannot be tolerated. We must support our law enforcement personnel and insist that DAs, our courts, and the DOJ enforce the law equally, fairly, and consistently toward all. •

The mental and physical condition of the Commander in Chief cannot be ignored. He must be able to quickly make accurate national security decisions involving life and limb anywhere, day or night. Recent Democrat leadership’s inquiries about nuclear code procedures sends a dangerous national security signal to nuclear armed adversaries, raising the question about who is in charge. We must always have an unquestionable chain of command. Under a Democrat Congress and the Current Administration, our Country has taken a hard left turn toward Socialism and a Marxist form of tyrannical government which must be countered now by electing congressional and presidential candidates who will always act to defend our Constitutional Republic. The survival of our Nation and its cherished freedoms, liberty, and historic values are at stake.

We urge all citizens to get involved now at the local, state and/or national level to elect political representatives who will act to Save America, our Constitutional Republic, and hold those currently in office accountable. The “will of the people” must be heard and followed. Signed by:

I haven't read it yet, but thanks for posting as I didn't realize there were two separate French letters on this matter.    I'm glad they have the courage to speak up.  Anyway, things are heating up there, aren't they?

I am glad France has people who can see the writing on the wall and the truth of the situation.

France came very close to a coup in the 1960s with the Algerian crisis.  That event propelled De Gaulle back into power because he was the only politician with enough cred to tell the French military to stand down.  Their army has intervened in their government before.

A bit to note here is that fully 10% of the French Army has been deployed on security duties -in France- for several years now due to the threat of Muslim terrorism.  Could be their army is getting sick and tired of that role and that they don't like that it appears to be a never-ending mission.  The tone of the letters strikes a sore note regarding Islamic radicals in France.

I was pretty surprised when I learned about the 2nd REP.   Pretty surprised to learn about this in-France op too. I have a tendency to dismiss the French as a bunch of croissant eaters, but that's obviously very wrong.

Those French letters almost sound like a declaration of war, and the U.S. one isn't far behind IMO.

A psychological effect of the Second World War is that it left a strongly imprinted series of stereotypes on our national culture.  Brits=ironclad allies, Germans=goose-stepping bad guys, French=surrender monkeys, and on and on.

The truth, of course, is that every national society is tremendously complex.  In France's case, they had a century of awful history between about 1870 and 1970.  But back in 1970, when they should have been able to enjoy calmer times and rebuild their society -- the consequences of their colonial history impacted them in the form of increasing immigration from the former colonies.  So now the consequences of that  are becoming apparent.

IMO, it is a mistake to judge the French military of today by the events of 1940.  More informative to look at the rebuilt French military of 1943-45 as the foundational basis for what their military is today.

Cheers
