Here's another instance when something is inferred by the media, but because of poltical correctness, will not state
as an opinion. This type of 'incident' is becoming a regular habit in particular areas or with a particular community.
Maybe with the modern sport of identifying oneself as a female will increase this imported tradition.

Quote:Woman in her 20s rushed to hospital after ‘falling from a height’ as man, 26, arrested on suspicion of
attempted murder

'A man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after a woman was rushed to hospital with life-threatening
injuries after "falling from a height". Cops were called to a block of flats in Southend, Essex, to reports of concerns for a
woman's welfare shortly after 6.30pm last night.

A woman in her 20s was found with serious injuries after plunging from a height in Bewley Court, police say.

She was rushed to hospital in a life-threatening condition. A 26-year-old man, from Southend, has been arrested on suspicion
of attempted murder. He remains in custody this morning. Police taped off the area and are still at the scene today.
Detective Inspector Stewart Eastbrook, of Southend CID, who is leading the investigation, said: "The investigation is in its early
phase. "At this stage, we believe this to be a contained and isolated incident, with no risk or threat to the wider public.

“There will be a very visible policing presence in the area throughout today and indeed in the coming days as we investigate the
circumstances which led to this woman sustaining very serious injuries.” Anyone who witnessed the incident or has information
is asked to submit a report online at or use the 'Live Chat' button to speak to an online operator between 7am-11pm...'

Just in case anyone is still unsure about whether the mainstream media is a joke, here's a cracker of an article
to show you how poor they are at creating the shit they churn out everyday. It was a tragedy and this is how
the MSM are treating it.

An air-ticket from France to London -ranges from £45 ($60) -£115 ($153) depending on airport locations.
Cost of illegally crossing from France to the UK in a rubber boat -Around £5,000 ($6,000)

Quote:Channel deaths: Kurdish woman, 24, trying to join fiance in UK is first identified victim of tragedy

'The first victim of Wednesday's tragedy in the Channel has been named as Mariam Nouri Hamadameen, a 24-year-old
Kurdish woman from northern Iraq. She had travelled to Germany and on to France, hoping to join her fiance who already
lives in Britain.

Mariam Nouri Hamadameen was trying to join her fiance (pictured) in the UK.
(Look like a refugee to you?)

Mariam -known to her family as Baran -was a student and recently engaged. She had left her studies early to be with her
fiance. "Her mother and father are totally devastated," her cousin told Sky News.
"The situation is just awful. She was a woman in the prime of her life.
"It's a total tragedy and the whole family are in shock," said Krmanj Ezzat, speaking from the family home in northern Iraq.

He sent a message to other young Kurds considering taking the journey: "I understand why so many people are leaving for
a better life, but this is not the correct path. It's the route of death...'

Left studies to walk to Germany from northern Iraq and then pay £5000 to illegally float across the North Sea to meet her
boyfriend. Not the other-way-around...? Not produced documentary evidence who she is and legally meet her fiance, no.
Boy, her parents brought her up correctly.

When is the question going to be asked?

Quote:Keon Lincoln: Teenagers jailed for boy's shooting murder

'A 14-year-old has been jailed for at least 16 years for murdering schoolboy Keon Lincoln, who was shot and stabbed
outside his home. The 15-year-old was attacked by a group of youths on Linwood Road, Handsworth, Birmingham, in
January.

A judge at Birmingham Crown Court lifted restrictions on naming 14-year-old Yussuf Mustapha who was accused of firing
the fatal shot. Three others were also sentenced for murder.

Tahjgeem Breakenridge, 18, from Oldfield Road, Balsall Heath, Birmingham and Michael Ugochukwu, 18, from Twyning Road,
Edgbaston, Birmingham, were both sentenced to life with a minimum term of 19 years.
A 16-year-old Walsall youth, who cannot be named for legal reasons, was ordered to be detained for at least 17 years.

Kieron Donaldson, 19, of Aston Lane, Perry Barr, Birmingham, was sentenced to a 12-year custodial term for Keon's manslaughter
having supplied weapons to those involved in the attack. Prior to sentencing, the court was told Mustapha and Keon went to the
same school and they had "appeared to get on reasonably well together".

(Top Right) Keon's mother, Sharmaine Lincoln
(Bottom L-R) Michael Ugochukwu, Tahjgeem Breakenridge, Kieron Donaldson, Yussuf Mustapha

Lord Justice William Davis said Keon's murder had been "carefully planned and executed" using a revolver and a stolen car.
"It's quite clear that all who came from the car were party to the use of the gun," he said.

He told Italy-born gunman Mustapha, who had no previous convictions, that material before the court indicated he had lived
"a decent life with his family" prior to the murder. "According to the pre-sentence report he has been able at times to show a
maturity in advance of his age," the judge said.

"Certainly there is no indication that he is immature for his age or that he suffers from any behavioural issues which might have
led to the events of 21 January." Lord Justice Davis said the only mitigating factor in Mustapha's case was his age "given that,
for someone of his age, many years in custody will appear, literally, to be a lifetime".

Mustapha's barrister, Adam Kane QC, told the judge his client was from a loving family and had been doing well at school,
academically and in sport.

Keon's mother, Sharmaine Lincoln, who had been at home when her son was attacked, called the convicted teens "heartless,
evil monsters". In a victim impact statement, she said: "I'm in a nightmare I cannot wake up from, my heart is broken without repair.
"I miss my boy so much, it physically hurts, I can only hope the day will come when the senseless murder of children will end."

The judge told the sentencing hearing: "She heard the shots. She went out to find her son dying on the pavement. Not only has
she been robbed of her son when he was only 15, but also she had to experience the trauma of watching him die."
He added: "When a 15-year-old boy is killed in that way the first question will be why? That question has never been answered."

The trial heard Keon was fatally wounded outside his home in a "short and brutal" attack.
He was repeatedly stabbed by a group who chased him after getting out of a stolen car. He was then shot in the stomach as he
lay on the ground, the court was told, and died two hours later at Birmingham Children's Hospital.

Prosecutors said a Ford S-Max, which had a false registration plate, was used. It was later involved in a crash on Wheeler Street,
Birmingham, where investigators found forensic evidence including a hunting knife.

Detectives previously said it was not clear whether Keon had been specifically targeted or attacked "by chance".

But Lord Justice Davis said the lack of clarity did "not mean that the murder of Keon was motiveless".
He said: "It simply means that neither the jury nor I have any notion of what the motive was."...'

Information is always scant when it comes to eye-witness reports f a 'news'-worthy incident and usually,
the MSM rely on the press release from law enforcement to create the main foundation of the situation.

But here, we have to mainstream media articles that varies so much, one might believe they were two
separate incidents due to the specific parts being offered, but do not connect in the manner one is led
to believe.

The BBC: (This was published at 8.30pm on Saturday evening.)

Quote:Kensington: Man dies after being shot in police confrontation

'A man has died after an incident involving armed police in west London.
Officers had been responding to reports of a man with a firearm entering a bank and bookmakers in Kensington
before stopping a vehicle at about 15:20 GMT, the Metropolitan Police said.

Vague, non-descript image of incident.

An eyewitness told the BBC they saw police shooting at a black Mercedes.
The force said shots were fired and a man sustained gunshot wounds and died at the scene. It said the incident
was not being treated as terrorism.

There was "no risk to the public", it said.
Alexis, who did not want to give his surname, told the BBC he saw police with assault rifles surround a black van
and shoot at it.

'Three shots'
He said: "They shouted 'police'. "And then they shot twice at the [Mercedes].
"There were two shots in quick succession." He said he had been worried the van "might explode" so he ran away
from the scene and it was then he heard a third shot.

Police said a man was seen entering a bank and bookmakers in an area near Marloes Road, Kensington, at about 15:05.
He was then seen getting into a vehicle and leaving the area. The force said the vehicle was stopped by armed officers
about 15 minutes later at the junction of Kensington Road and Palace Gate, before shots were fired.

London Ambulance Service and London Air Ambulance were called to the scene, but the shot man was pronounced dead at 16:08.
Police said officers were trying to confirm the man's identity and to inform his next of kin.

The shooting has been referred to the Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC) which confirmed an investigation had begun.
A spokesperson said: "After being notified of the incident by the Met Police Service, we sent investigators to the scene and the
post-incident procedure to start gathering evidence.
"Our thoughts are with anyone affected."...'
BBC:

Okay, we have a branded vehicle, a Mercedes. Was it a car or a van? The Mercedes was black, the van was black and so a reader

The man died because the Police Force 'fired shots' -which is the diversity-loving BBC's way of saying the Police shot the man.
The Police state 'the man was seen entering a bank and bookmakers in an area near Marloes Road, Kensington, at about 15:05.
He was then seen getting into a vehicle and leaving the area'. However, the article fails to connect the 'vehicle' as a car or van.
So the man did something illegal that we're not informed about.

fired several shots at the gunman in the back of a vehicle.

The force confirmed that despite emergency service's best efforts, the man could not be saved and died shortly after.

The eyewitness added: "He was in the back of a cab, as a passenger, the police pulled in front of the car and forced it to stop.

Interesting that both articles say a lot, yet you end up with many more questions than answers.

It does look like they are providing little, and covering up, or dressing up, a lot more.

The saddest part is that there is little attention given to the fact that a man is dead, I mean killed, and there is not even a hint of a reason for what he did to justify them killing him.

For every one person that read this post. About 7.99 billion have not.

I appreciate certain journalistic-ethics -although considering the entertainment aspect of what they write these

As far as we can deduce, he could have walked into the 'bank and bookmakers', thinking it was a pawn shop or that a gunsmith was in the premises. As you say, at no point do they say what he did, might have done or threatened that would demand a response of terminal force.

Thank God there were multiple reports - else we would never have known of this/these otherwise sketchy account/s. tinybighuh
As you, it seems (to me) that neither the journalists or editors in these 'news gathering & disseminating' enterprises should have been 'passed through' the vaunted halls of their respective institutions of primary education.

For those (aboard the RN3 Express) unfamiliar with the layout of greater London: Is Kensington (the vicinity where this took place - ie: might it be on the seedy edges of an otherwise affluent/prosperous district, with the common attendant denizens (think - rats and spittoons ---- or not))?
How far might the "Marloes Road" area be from the initial incident (meaning - the banks and bookmakers, concerned with his 'gun').
Did he have to stand on the street to wave a taxi down...or, was the taxi waiting for him?
Were any shopkeepers, bankers or bookmakers chasing when he was seen entering the taxi/car?

What, about this incident, would improve its value enough to place it above the bar that requires censorship & dishonesty... Or was it so far below the bar, that neither organization/journalist (including the Police reporter) cared enough to 'get things justifiably straight & complete'?
Who knows?

I wonder "who" (specifically) placed the phone call to alert the police?

Thanks!

Sorry for the delay, Minstrel... had to get my ducks in a line!

I suspect the reasons for such a focused stoppage is connected to the attempted Liverpool Women's Hospital taxi bombing
where the driver locked in the Iraq-born asylum seeker Emad Al Swealmeen and he exploded his device.
Hence the reluctance for the BBC to use the words 'cab' or 'taxi'.

In this particular Kensington situation, the bare-bones of the Liverpool incident are similar and guess what's at the southern
end of Marloes Road...? Cromwell Hospital. But in the mayhem, it now seems the incident happened at Palace Gate,  around
700 metres east of the named road.

In my opinion, the art of Journalism in its previous form is dead. We in the UK, now have servants of those in power due
to the simple fact that many of the ingrained politicians were Journalists and are aware of the trouble that these emotional
scribblers can bring.

Just look how they're currently harrying Boris Johnson at the moment.
Johnson worked at The Times, the Daily Telegraph, was the editor of The Spectator magazine and even hosted the BBC's
satirical current affairs show Have I Got News for You, a show where supposedly cerebral-celebrities and Journalists flex
their wit to make an audience believe they know better.

By the way, the update is that the BBC have now mentioned a taxi and that a firearm was recovered.

Even just a quick glance via Wikipedia shows that the occurrence is unusual considering it happened in a wealthy
tree-lined suburb, where expensive sought-after property resides with private gardens and that rare creature in a
capital city, car-park spaces!
(Think the main character's friends from the movie 'Notting Hill')

Quote:Kensington is an affluent district in the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea in the West of Central London.
The district's commercial heart is Kensington High Street, running on an east–west axis. The north-east is taken up
by Kensington Gardens, containing the Albert Memorial, the Serpentine Gallery and Speke's monument.

South Kensington and Gloucester Road are home to Imperial College London, the Royal College of Music, the Royal
Albert Hall, Natural History Museum, Victoria and Albert Museum, and Science Museum. The area is also home to many
international embassies and consulates and the residence of many politicians and billionaires...

The nearby banks and bookmakers are at the north-end of (but not on) Marloes Road and the BBC image of what a
reader is meant to be Marloes Road, I can't find any part of that road that is that wide and have the same restaurant
fronts. So one would presumed the picture below must be the junction of Kensington Road and Palace Gate.

Quote:Thank God there were multiple reports - else we would never have known of this/these otherwise sketchy account/s.
As you, it seems (to me) that neither the journalists or editors in these 'news gathering & disseminating' enterprises
should have been 'passed through' the vaunted halls of their respective institutions of primary education.

By the way, the update is that the BBC have now mentioned a taxi and that a firearm was was recovered.

Quote:For those (aboard the RN3 Express) unfamiliar with the layout of greater London: Is Kensington (the vicinity where this
took place - ie: might it be on the seedy edges of an otherwise affluent/prosperous district, with the common attendant
denizens (think - rats and spittoons ---- or not))?

How far might the "Marloes Road" area be from the initial incident (meaning - the banks and bookmakers, concerned with
his 'gun').

Or was it so far below the bar, that neither organization/journalist (including the Police reporter) cared enough to 'get things
justifiably straight & complete'?
Who knows?

I wonder "who" (specifically) placed the phone call to alert the police?

Thanks!

The nearby banks and bookmakers are at the north-end of (but not on) Marloes Road and the BBC image of what a
reader is meant to be Marloes Road, I can't find any part of that road that is that wide and have the same restaurant
fronts. So one would presumed the picture below must be the junction of Kensington Road and Palace Gate.

of Kensington Road and Palace Gate, before shots were fired...'

But here's the Google 'street-view' of that junction.

There's more to this and it probably needs sanitising first.

Thank you for the replies.

So - not only are there similarities in that both incidents involved taxis...but also, both drivers escaped with their lives.

Thanks for the pointer to 'Notting Hill' - I have not seen it, but will look that way for reference/s.

My interest in the story is that of one determined to determine if one should be interested... If you know what I mean.

It's a precarious balance, 'random' incidents that draw fear from the public do happen and they do enhance
media ratings, but often,  ground-floor facts are sometimes not available and often not news-worthy. Hence
the need for certain visuals that are supposed to draw the eye and lure interest.

Wording is very important and as you've seen with the decaying flu-virus narrative, the importance that is
initially designated to a story can be damaged by the rush to garner those all-vital ratings.

For example, if a large rock is reported to be heading towards Earth, one might expect a global coverage that
would last until impact. Yet, in a week or so, the headline is about a 'celebrity' and a steamy dalliance appears
and the public are expected to move along without noticing the change of the seriousness offered earlier.

There are other factors that are connected to the grist of the story above. First, it is a local story, but due to
the UK mainstream media being based in London and a capital being deemed important, the story takes
centre-stage.

Second, an in-depth reporting of an act of crime may effect a court trial and this is part of the ethical system
Journalists are supposed to adhere to. Sadly, later extensive investigations into these types of crime tend to
protect certain belief-structures within the MSM and may even reveal errors in their own original reporting.

Third, the man who was shot seems to have an 'Asian' appearance and since the MSM believe in a certain
dogma where they want to scare -but not scare the public that all brown-skinned people are to be wary of,
the reports have to hit-and-run, one-offs -due to the 'fairness reasons' I mentioned above, but also because
the shock-value has been used-up.

A chap was killed in Bolton (UK) on Saturday, stabbed and killed. Yet it took until Monday to report it on the
BBC website simply because Bolton isn't deemed equal to London. Another factor to take into consideration
is that Monday is accepted as a 'new' working-week and ergo, new articles have to be generated to acquire
ratings.

The Sun report from above regarding the Kensington incident is still on their website, but there has been no
update. However, considering the 'exciting' images it holds, I can see why they've left it up. The BBC dropped
it like a hot potato due to the dead man's ethnic background.

Some of the reasons I've put forward may seem silly to the consumers of the stuff they churn out, but they
are very real!

I find it odd that after several Doctors and Scientists in South Africa constantly stating the Moronic is a weak copy
-supposedly originating from one human, and has low effects on the human body... the ridiculed UK Prime Minister
Boris Johnson still felt the need (via the media) to promote fear-porn.

Then as some of his political party rebel against his nonsense -on the back of discovering that the Prime Minister's
residence was used to enjoy luxuries prohibited to the public and with his position looking very shaky...

Quote:Covid: First UK death recorded with Omicron variant

'At least one person in the UK has died with the Omicron coronavirus variant, the prime minister has said.
Boris Johnson said the new variant was also resulting in hospital admissions and the "best thing" people
could do was get their booster jab.

Visiting a vaccination clinic in London, he said people should set aside the idea Omicron was a milder variant.
On Sunday, the PM set a new target for all adults in England to be offered a booster by the end of the month.
On Monday, Mr Johnson said people needed to recognise "the sheer pace at which [Omicron] accelerates
through the population"...'
BBC:

Boris Johnson said. Not the National Health Service or the hospital where this alleged death occurred, PM Bo Jo said.
Now we await the diluting of the story. At the moment, this person was perfectly well, became infected with the Omicron
virus and died of it in an English hospital. When did this person die...? Today, Monday?

Even South Africa couldn't manage that goal in all the extra weeks it has been dealing with the Coof.
A weaker strain of the virus killed a perfectly-fit person. Date 13th December. 14.00.pm GMT.

Quote:'....The booster rollout has been accelerated in response to Omicron, after early analysis suggested two doses of a Covid
vaccine were not enough to stop people catching the variant.

A third booster dose gives around 70% to 75% protection against symptomatic infection with Omicron, analysis by the UK
Health Security Agency found...'

Yer' gonna need five or six jabs. Seven maybe to make sure. One and two is as bad as none and you just wasted your time.
Look over here, there's a shiny pill that will... No, look over here, a brand new variant-killing... and on and on.

It's okay to hold marches in London and protest about the political Coof decisions, but the Prime Minister and his
gang -just like Governments before them, will smile and see it as merely a one-day-worry. But now with the internet,
voices get heard and points of view are taken and absorbed.

The reality of those opinions becomes real when at the ballot box and below, the BBC do their best to ridicule Boris
Johnson, but I notice they steer clear of commenting on the Labour Party's failure to grab the seat. It's obvious this
is a signal about the Coof restrictions and a smart person -who owns a comb or doesn't, should be aware of what it
means.

Quote:Tories lose North Shropshire seat they held for nearly 200 years

'The Conservatives have lost the North Shropshire seat they held for nearly 200 years to the Liberal Democrats in a
by-election blow to Boris Johnson. Winner Helen Morgan overturned a Tory majority of almost 23,000, declaring that
the "party is over" for the PM.

Helen Morgan -Lib-Dem Member of Parliament.

The result follows a torrid week for Mr Johnson, who has faced criticism over Downing Street parties and a rebellion by
his own MPs over Covid measures. Tory MP Sir Roger Gale said the prime minister was on "last orders".
"One more strike and he's out," he told BBC Radio 4's Today programme, adding that the by-election "has to be seen as
a referendum on the prime minister's performance".

Conservative Party chairman Oliver Dowden said: "I know that the voters of North Shropshire are fed up and they wanted
to give us a kicking... We've heard that message loud and clear." But he added: "I don't think this amounts to a sea-change."
The by-election followed the resignation of Owen Paterson, the MP for North Shropshire since 1997, who was found to have
breached parliamentary rules on lobbying.

In her victory speech, Ms Morgan, who won by 5,925 votes, said: "Tonight, the people of North Shropshire have spoken on
behalf of the British people. They have said loudly and clearly, 'Boris Johnson, the party is over.'
"Your government, run on lies and bluster, will be held accountable. It will be scrutinised, it will be challenged and it can and
will be defeated."

Fourteen candidates stood in Thursday's by-election. Ms Morgan took 17,957 votes, with Conservative Dr Neil Shastri-Hurst
amassing 12,032 and Labour's Ben Wood coming third with 3,686.
The last-placed candidate, independent Yolande Kenward, received just three votes...'

Quote:Lord Ahmed: Former peer guilty of child sex offences

'A former Labour peer has been found guilty of sexual offences against two children in the 1970s.
Lord Ahmed of Rotherham was convicted of a serious sexual assault against a boy and the attempted
rape of a young girl.

Lord Ahmed.

Sheffield Crown Court heard the repeated sexual abuse happened in Rotherham when he was a teenager.
The 64-year-old, who appeared under his real name of Nazir Ahmed, had denied the charges.
During trial, prosecutor Tom Little QC told the court Lord Ahmed had attempted to rape the girl in the early
1970s, when the defendant was aged 16 or 17 but she was much younger.

The attack on the boy, who was aged under 11 at the time, also happened during the same period.

Mr Little said Lord Ahmed claimed the allegations were a "malicious fiction" but a phone recording of a 2016
conversation between the two victims showed they were not "made-up or concocted". The woman's call was
prompted by an email from the male victim saying: "I have evidence against that paedophile," the jury previously
heard.

Lord Ahmed was charged along with his two older brothers, Mohammed Farouq, 71, and Mohammed Tariq, 65,
but both were deemed unfit to stand trial. Both had faced charges of indecent assault against the same boy abused
by Lord Ahmed.

Though the men did not face a criminal trial, jurors concluded that they did commit the alleged acts after hearing
evidence in the case. Lord Ahmed, who was convicted following a retrial, resigned from the House of Lords in
November 2020 after a conduct committee report concluded he had sexually and emotionally exploited a vulnerable
woman who sought his help.

The inquiry into his behaviour followed a BBC Newsnight investigation.

The report made him the first peer to be recommended for expulsion but he resigned before this could be implemented.

Rosemary Ainslie, head of the Crown Prosecution Service's special crime division, said: "By these verdicts the jury has
clearly decided that no matter the delay between the offences and the trial, and the defences raised, they could be sure
that the accounts of the victims were credible and true.

"One of these defendants held a position of power, influence and responsibility for some time in the House of Lords but
this case clearly illustrates that where there is sufficient evidence, even in challenging cases, the CPS will bring a
prosecution, put evidence before a jury and see rightful convictions."

The judge, Mr Justice Lavender, bailed Lord Ahmed to appear at the same court for sentencing on 4 February...'

After a certain group of youngsters were found not guilty for destroying and dumping a statue of Edward Colston into
Bristol harbour, a chap took it upon himself to attempt to rid the front of the BBC offices of a statue of Prospero and
Ariel by sculptor Eric Gill.

Colston was deemed a racist by some and Gill -the sculptor, was deemed a peadophile due to his diaries explaining
that he sexual abused his daughters, his sisters and the family dog. So it'll be interesting how the trial of the hammer
-swinger will pan out.

Quote:Man takes hammer to BBC headquarters to smash statue by paedophile sculptor

'A man who climbed up onto the BBC’s London headquarters in an alleged attempt to damage a statue
by the artist Eric Gill has been arrested. The statue, which depicts Prospero and Ariel from Shakespeare’s
play The Tempest, was created in the 1930s by Eric Gill, who is said to have sexually assaulted his two daughters.

Gill’s abuse came to light in the 1980s, following the publication of an autobiography that used evidence from the
artist’s private diaries. Since then, the statue has proved controversial and there have been many calls for it to be
removed.

Metropolitan Police officers were called at around 4.15pm on Wednesday, to Broadcasting House in Portland Street,
following reports a man had used a ladder to reach the 10ft tall figures above the building’s entrance.
The area was cordoned off, and London Ambulance Service paramedics attended the scene.

In footage of the incident shared online, a man could be seen repeatedly hitting the leg of the smaller figure of two which
make up the statue. Shards of the statue and dust could be seen falling from the BBC building as the man continued to
hammer away at the statue of Ariel and Prospero
Two men were seen trying to negotiate with him while he periodically stopped hammering to take a break...'

A letter was sent to MPs by Speaker Sir Lindsay Hoyle who said MI5 warned him a woman called Christine Lee
has been "engaged in political interference activities on behalf of the Chinese Communist Party, engaging with
members here at parliament".

MI5 sent out an "interference alert" warning Ms Lee has "facilitated financial donations to serving and aspiring

of the payments".

Labour frontbencher and former minister Barry Gardiner has been named as an MP who accepted large donations
from the Chinese woman, and he confirmed her son was working for him but resigned today.

Longstanding investigation but warning is new
Home Secretary Priti Patel said a longstanding investigation into Ms Lee has been ongoing but Thursday's revelations
about her are "relatively new" and said what she has been engaging in "is currently under the criminal threshold but
the alert puts MPs on notice".

She denied the announcement today was to distract from calls for the prime minister to resign over Number 10

Quote:Next joins Ikea in cutting sick pay for unvaccinated workers

Morrisons and Ikea have announced similar changed in recent days

'High street stalwart Next has become the latest major UK business to cut sick pay for unvaccinated workers
as the corporate work increases the pressure on staff to get the Covid jab.

Next, which employs around 44,000 people, said unvaccinated staff who are “pinged” by the NHS app or told
to self-isolate by Test and Trace will only be paid statutory sick pay.

Employees who test positive for Covid-19, regardless of vaccination status, will be paid the more generous sick
pay offered by the business, which is based up their standard rate of pay.

The retailer is the latest major business to restrict sick pay for unvaccinated staff. Morrisons and Ikea have announced
similar changed in recent days. Richard Fox, a partner at law firm Kingsley Napley, said: “The fact that Next has made
this move may illustrate a shifting mood for employers on the vaccination issue...'

Quote:Marks and Spencer rebrands Midget Gems after claims name is offensive to people with dwarfism

Tesco has also said it will be reviewing the name of its midget gems product following the campaign by
Liverpool Hope University lecturer Dr Erin Pritchard.

'Marks and Spencer has renamed its popular Midget Gems sweets to avoid offending people with dwarfism.
They will now be called Mini Gems after a disability academic raised concerns about the use of the word "midget".

Dr Erin Pritchard, who has a condition that stunts growth called achondroplasia, approached a number of supermarkets
and confectionary makers about changing the name. The lecturer in disability studies at Liverpool Hope University said
"midget" is seen as a derogatory term for people with growth problems and has previously called for the use of it to be
seen as hate speech.

M&S is the first to react to her campaign, saying it was "committed to being an inclusive retailer" as it rolled out the changed
labelling. A spokeswoman said: "Following suggestions from our colleagues and the insights shared by Dr Erin Pritchard,
we introduced new Mini Gem packaging last year, which has since been rolled out to all of our stores."

Tesco has also announced it will be reviewing the name of its product, saying it is a "diverse and inclusive retailer" and would
not want any of its products to "cause offence". Following the announcement, Dr Pritchard claimed "a lot" of people were getting
"upset" about the change.

She tweeted:
"It seems that there are a lot of average-sized men getting upset about the removal of the word midget from a packet of sweets.
"I didn't realise they were so sensitive."

The word 'midget' and Victorian freak shows
In her recent book, Dr Pritchard argues the word midget should be classed as a form of hate speech due to its origins in Victorian
freak shows. She wrote in Big Issue North: "Often referred to by people with dwarfism as the m-word, it is a term derived from the
word midge, meaning gnat or sandfly.

"Its origin automatically dehumanises people like me. It was a term popularised during the Victorian freak show, where many disabled
people, including people with dwarfism, were oppressed and exploited."...'
