14,000 left in Afghanistan and banned from escape to the USA

There are entire countries in Europe who feel like they were screwed by the outcome of World War II even though they were counted among the Allies.  45 years of Soviet occupation didn't sit well with them.  In that case, no one in the West (understandably) had desire to ignite a third world war to free all of Europe from totalitarian rule, but the situation does illustrate that no war is truly a "good war".  There are always losers, and sometimes the ones who number among the losers can be surprising.

The EU today is seeing an uptick in people fleeing the regime in Belarus.  And why?  Because they got involved in the Belarus elections just enough to give some people the idea that the regime would be toppled.  But it wasn't, and now the ruler there is taking his revenge.

Big problem is too many Western leaders today don't want to accept responsibility for their policies, and the failures thereof.

Cheers

100% true. Of course they are not in it for sound policy so it makes sense if they bail on any responsibility. Very sociopathic of them and very predictable.
