My first thought. "so they know where to send the SWAT team" - 727Sky - 09-17-2022 My investment broker for the last 20+ years along with my social security check goes to wells fargo every month. This is a big deal for me.. Quote:Deposit account holders must now provide a valid U.S. address RE: My first thought. "so they know where to send the SWAT team" - kdog - 09-17-2022 Uh oh, time to find a new bank. RE: My first thought. USAA is not great for international stuff anyway but...at least it works.. My concern is the social security change address as I have never been able to log on to do anything.. RE: My first thought. "so they know where to send the SWAT team" - Selbiene_Raveren - 09-17-2022 I agree, kinda creepy. But the reasoning for it is probably due to the wiliness of phishers and hackers these days. If you rely on a monthly mailed statement of your account to keep tabs on suspicious activity, it would be hard to do that if your statement is being mailed out of the country. But that's also something Big Brother would say too, isn't it? For your protection...? Aye, there's the rub. RE: My first thought. "so they know where to send the SWAT team" - EndtheMadnessNow - 09-17-2022 Whoa! Screw Fargo! Must be a loophole somewhere to get around this? Create a ghost 727Sky in the US Virgin Islands? IDK, guess you have some unfortunate research to do. RE: My first thought. I went paperless many years ago ...Lucky for me I do have an address in the states I can use as a stateside home address. The home address (so says their web site) does not have to be the same as the mailing address... Kinda stupid IMO. I had to get a new passport as mine was expiring for the fourth time.. 10 years they expire... I doubt I will have to get another new one as I am fading fast and anything official government seems to make me want to bite my tongue after experiencing the bureaucratic BS... |
