The Spy War on Humanity & $$$ - EndtheMadnessNow - 04-23-2022 Ha, spies everywhere...Phone-tracking firm Anomaly Six has amassed so much app data it recently held an incredible closed-door demonstration: The company geofenced the CIA and NSA, tracked someone who had visited both sites around the country, and then de-anonymized them. Anomaly Six sales rep joked that their surveillance power is based on the fact that most people "probably don’t read" the fine print. Quite true. Quote:In the months leading up to Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, two obscure American startups met to discuss a potential surveillance partnership that would merge the ability to track the movements of billions of people via their phones with a constant stream of data purchased directly from Twitter. According to Brendon Clark of Anomaly Six — or “A6” — the combination of its cellphone location-tracking technology with the social media surveillance provided by Zignal Labs would permit the U.S. government to effortlessly spy on Russian forces as they amassed along the Ukrainian border, or similarly track Chinese nuclear submarines. To prove that the technology worked, Clark pointed A6’s powers inward, spying on the National Security Agency and CIA, using their own cellphones against them. To me, the real worry here isn't that American spies could be easily tracked, (except if you are spy of course) but that the locations of ordinary people around the world are for sale, (like credit card numbers) and can be effortlessly monitored using data they likely have no idea their phones are leaking 24/7. Everyone becomes a POI. The sale of personal location data is nothing new and has been happening without oversight or regulation for many years. But companies like A6 show what's possible when you combine gigantic personal location datasets with an easy to use UI and turn that package into a product...similar to the Israeli Pegasus. Do you remember that scene at the end of 2008’s The Dark Knight, where Batman finds The Joker by tapping into Gotham’s cellphone network to create a three-dimensional map of the city? It also can't be overstated that if big brother wants to use this tech, they don't need a warrant, they can simply buy access. The 4th Amendment is supposed to protect you from this, but commercial app data provides an enormous loophole. And in fact, the government is buying access to Anomaly Six: Quote:U.S. Special Operations Command Paid $500,000 to Secretive Location Data Firm And another story from WSJ: Quote:U.S. Government Contractor Embedded Software in Apps to Track PhonesGotta luv it when your phone is weaponized against you in more ways than one. Flashback... NY Times RE: The Spy War on Humanity & $$$ - NightskyeB4Dawn - 04-23-2022 I remember a time when you took your life in your hands if you dared suggest that your cell phone spied on you. You where considered an insane conspiracy theorist, that needed to be locked up for your own safety. Now it is considered normal, and the only people that should be concerned about it are those that have something to hide. Those were the days. I wonder what generation Z will be lamenting about in the future. When personal surveillance devices (smart phones and cell phones in general) first came out, I had one for a short amount of time. I saw how it worked. The "essentials" that hooked everyone, you know, tip calcs, social media, weather apps, etc etc etc I realized weren't so essential but all my peers were just so dog gone fascinated by them they just wouldn't put them down. The gov't loves that! It's a dream come true for the agencies. I lived so many years without those "essentials". I was fine then. I did not need them. Nice to have? Ok sure yes Need? Gosh naw. What I get a kick out of is the watches. Plain old tracking wrist bands... and people pay big bucks to wear the darn things all over town! Just like when they send the drones to fly over your community. The houses that are dark, are easier to spot then all those that are all lit up. Every morning when you get up, use it to strap your cell phone to the cat before you let it out for the day. Over time, they will be amazed at the things they are tracking "you" doing and the places you are going! . They are encouraging us to keep them in lock up. But if your let them roam free, then they want to to track them. |
