Get Over the Bitchin' - Ninurta - 04-21-2022

This is not directed to anything at Rogue Nation 3, it's general advice for sallying forth into the Real World, and winning while you are out there. I think we generally get along pretty well here at RN3, since we usually act like adults, and that's really all it takes.

--------------------------------

Get beyond the bitching. Get beyond the childish name-calling. You might be surprised at what you find when you get along instead of just parroting talking points and bitching up a storm about your opponents. Have some respect. How can you expect anyone to respect you when you give them nothing but disrespect?

"Libtard"? Really? How proud their parents must be of their vocabularies and reasoning skills when the only comeback they have is to call someone a "Libtard". I would expect a higher caliber of thought from folks who claim to have the answers.

"Deplorables"? Really? How proud their parents must be of their vocabularies and reasoning skills when the only comeback they have is to call someone a "Deplorable". I would expect a higher caliber of thought from folks who claim to have the answers.

If irrational name-calling is all you got, you've got nothing, and it shows. For the whole damned world to see and assess.

I'm living proof that respect works. I have friends from all along the political spectrum. Real World friends. We don't always agree, but sometimes we do... and THAT is what we need to concentrate on. Just hammering on the differences and refusing to recognize the similarities only drives further division... and someone, somewhere, is counting on you to widen that divide. They'll loose power if you don't, and you will gain the power they lose. We can't have that, now can we?

We don't always have to agree to get along, but a mutual respect is a must, or we BOTH go down in flames when a third party comes in to sweep all our legs out from under us while we are distracted by bitching at our "unworthy" opponents.

I believe it was Benjamin Franklin who was once quoted as saying "if we don't hang together, we will assuredly hang separately".

Another wise fellow mentioned that a man is known by his enemies - if one does not respect his foes, he himself is beneath respect... he is not of a quality or caliber to attract worthy opponents.

Think about it a bit.

Entirely agreed, @"Ninurta" . Kinda difficult to find common ground when both parties are set for defense.

Quit your bitching

Can't help it. I'm in perpetual bitching mode, and if I can't bitch about Liberals, I'm going to find SOMETHING to bitch about!

Don't want the barbarians to take over the castle just because the stable boy and the cook are too busy bitching at one another and trying to find out what the blacksmith is up to to pay attention to the barbarians at the gates...

@"Ninurta"

You know old man, I'm going to have to disagree with you on this one.

I'm a "name-caller".

I'm an asshole on many occasions.

I also enjoy the freedom of free expression.

I'll curb my tongue when I'm speaking to my boss, my wife, my mother.  (My mom would still smack me if I said a swear and she's in her 80's)

But in the arena of politics and societal norms, the gloves come off.

Free speech was written into the Bill of Rights NOT to protect nice speech, polite speech, censored speech.

It was written to protect hate speech, offensive, speech, ugly speech.

I learned something about life and health. Worrying causes stress  and affects your health. My mom had a stroke because of worrying over us kids. I don't give a shit. My health was worse when I was working.

Shit happens, nothing you can do about it, so enjoy yours while you still have it.

Both my GF and myself will use a similar descriptive term "fuck wads" and I will use "jizz wad" or "jerk wad" as well. It's all about human body parts and their functions.

For example . . .

Dick, dickhead, pecker, peckerhead, cock, numbnuts, ass, asshole, assface, shithead, pussy, twat, cunt, boob, fucker, fuckhead, jerkoff, etc.

If you're creative you can come up with loads of this kind of insulting name calling.

Let's try this one, "nad-nibbler" or this one, "fart-face". It's so simple a Kindergarten kid can do it.

My own father fondly called me his asshole son and shit ass. I used to call my one girl friend pussy fart.

Well, yeah, the First Amendment was written to guarantee protection of unpopular speech. I'm just the sort that would rather convince my opponent they are wrong than alienate them and convince them they are right.

As a general rule, name-calling doesn't bother me nearly as much as the hateful, divisive crap being spewed by MSM ETAL.

Hell, cursing is a good stress reliever IMHO.

Tribalism?  Not so much.

I agree with you Ninurta.

I have never been one for using foul language. I have never seen an argument won with foul language, but I have seen many a fight started by the use of it.

Foul language, to me, is the go to, people use when they can't win an argument, or they have already lost the argument.

I automatically shut down when people start using foul language, because I know that they have stepped away from cordial discourse, and are looking to escalate the encounter to fist to cuffs.

I usually agree to disagree and move on.
