Madeleine Albright, first female US Secretary of State, dies

The “trailblazing” politician and prominent diplomat was 84-years-old.
She rose to serve as the country’s top diplomat under President Bill Clinton from 1997 to 2001.
“We are heartbroken to announced that Dr Madeleine K. Albright, the 64th US Secretary of State and the first woman to hold that position, passed away earlier today,” her family said in a statement.
“The cause was cancer. She was surrounded by family and friends.
