My husband helped me finish making my camera attachment then he took the first picture. I took the second one using the 25mm lens. We couldn’t get much out of the 10mm. I don’t like messing around with camera settings either. I used to want a good camera but I probably wouldn’t be able to operate it. I just use my phone. That's EXCELLENT @"VioletDove". I can see the rings of Saturn. They said we should be able to see Jupiter's moons, but I have yet to see anyone with photos that close or clear. Great job! I can kind of make them out if I zoom in on the picture I took. I was very happy Saturn’s rings showed up though.(12-22-2020, 02:38 AM)VioletDove Wrote: These aren’t the best but I was happy to get something. RE: “Christmas Star” of 2020 - Mystic Wanderer - 12-22-2020 Matt Couch caught an epic picture last night of the "Christmas Star". Wanted to share. If you click on the image in this post by @"NightSkyeB4Dawn" you can see the 4 Galilean moons of Jupiter in the bigger image that results. Jupiter is the bigger "star", and the moons are pinpoints of light strung out in a line going through it from upper left to lower right, with one being right on the upper limb of Jupiter. The oblong "star" is Saturn, which appears oblong because of the rings. If you look close enough, you can see the gap between the rings and the planet itself. All of these light sources combined last night to create a single bright "star" as seen from the ground here with the naked eye. Here is the image, more or less full size: . |
