But then, the world appeared to change, and I thought there was a good chance for a better future for them. But, here we are. My son will be 25 in April, and I shudder to think of the world I've left him, and my grand children. There is always, it seems, some sons of bitches hiding in the shadows just waiting to seize power and create Hell on Earth. The price of Freedom is eternal vigilance, even through the good times, to watch for those sons of bitches to jump out and shake the foundations of Earth when, it appears, you least expect it. We took our eyes off the ball, just for a minute, and here we are. . RE: Comments on Europe - NightskyeB4Dawn - 12-22-2020 (12-22-2020, 09:05 AM)Ninurta Wrote: I remember those days. Time flies when you think you are having fun, or when you think it won't matter. In some cases we saw it happening, we just didn't think it would ever affect us. Yeah, I think it was about a quarter of the way through Bush Jr's administration that I looked around and said "waitadamnminute! This ain't right!" and started fighting again... but by then it appears to have been too late. The Fix was already in. . RE: Comments on Europe - Finspiracy - 12-22-2020 I have not seen anyone, and i mean NOT A SINGLE PERSON on this site, supporting EU. Do those people even exist? Or is that a media narrative, in order to maintain this fucked up union? I believe we do have one member, at least, who is in favor of the EU. he has argued pretty stridently and eloquently in favor of it at times, at least. . Okay. Here is for that person. From 5 years ago. Fact check all you want. "Fit for an emperor, EU diplomats plan £2 million dinner service Crystal whisky glasses, silver candelabras and fine china decorated with gold EU flags to form glittering dinner service for Brussels' ascendant diplomatic corps" Cool mindset, motherfuckers. "We rule this motherfucking shit, you think we are using the same kitchenware as you slaves, huh?" RE: Comments on Europe - F2d5thCav - 12-26-2020 Here is a fine example of both EU propaganda, and the peddling of it by German media. From the English language site of Deutsche Welle, dated today. Quote:Rural EU citizens more anti-European and anti-democratic — study https://www.dw.com/en/rural-eu-citizens-more-anti-european-and-anti-democratic-study/a-56053700 First, note the headline. "EU citizens more anti-European". Huh? What, are they anti-themselves? NO. What this misleading verbiage means is that rural Europeans are more likely to be against the --> EU <--, not against Europe. Conflation of two very different things, something the EU loves to do. Then, this notion is extended to also suppose these rural people supposedly are anti-democratic as well. OH. Let me guess -- maybe they believe in the concept of their countries more than they believe in globalist bilge ... thus they are labeled "anti-democratic" ... when in fact, the high Eurocrats are APPOINTED, not ELECTED ... something that is genuinely anti-democratic and practically authoritarian. And so the drumbeat of aggression against those opposed to the EU goes on. I can see no logical reason that I should vote to give someone else power over my life, nor can I see any good reason I should expect them to pay for my stuff. Then again, I'm also one of those troublesome independently-minded rural folks, so I suppose it fits... . RE: Comments on Europe - F2d5thCav - 12-27-2020 @"Ninurta" In the case of EU farmers, it could also have something to do with German and French farmers getting generous subsidies while farmers in other EU countries tend to get the shaft. Meanwhile, the price of food in stores continues to rise while farming land remains idle per "planning" of the Union. The Union has a lot of different chiefs and no one to keep them working in such a way that they are not undermining each other. Part of it is basic psychology. Rural dwellers have to have a reasonable grasp of reality to survive while some of the policy coming out of Brussels is fantasy rooted in ideology. I don't wonder that the people in the countryside are not impressed by what they believe is unrealistic. Cheers RE: Comments on Europe - F2d5thCav - 10-19-2021 EU (Brussels) and Poland square off over who gets to control national laws. Cheers RE: Comments on Europe - F2d5thCav - 10-19-2021 So, it is shaping up to be another cold winter in Europe, and apparently, EU countries don't have enough natural gas in reserve to meet what will be the demands for heating places of work and residence. Surprise, the Russians are in no hurry to help. Merkel, the old communist from the DDR, believed she could rely on the Russians and that their gas supply would not be used as a tool to pressure the EU. That Germany practically worshipped her as a chancellor for SIXTEEN years is ample evidence that the German public are still children in the sense of understanding politics. Germany has pursued green policies to shut down their own coal production (while ramping up coal imports ...) and THEN pressured other countries to shut down their coal production as well. Unfortunately, renewables won't heat Europe north of the Alps during winter. Gas or coal are pretty much the two options. The EU has acted as a cat's paw for German policies and harassed other EU countries to meet the "green" goals. Add on two years of failed COVID restrictions (now the German state of Hesse has passed a law allowing grocery stores to decide if they allow unvaccinated customers to shop), economies bogging down, and steep inflation all over Europe. The EU has remained so tone deaf post-Brexit as to beggar belief. The Eurocrats, the so-called 'experts', and spineless, corrupt politicians have brought the EU to the brink of utter failure. What surprises me is that the USA and the EU are practically mirrors of each other at the moment. Cheers |
