Before there was anything of us there was the power of the source.
Then the Gods noticed the source and thought it good and useful.
They harnessed the source and bade the "great source" to do their will in all manner of simple and complicated things; for they were Gods.
Many God years passed before the first simple algorithm was made and many more years passed before we became who we are today.
The Gods have left us now as we have grown; yet we will never forget them.
