A cool chick I know found this in a fermentation group she belongs to on FB.

I don't know if this is a true origin story or not but I'm pretty sure if one of the grandkids ever ask me what a Honeymoon is this is the story I'm going to tell them!

I don't know if it is true or not either, but I love Tej. I  was introduced to it when I was in University. That was many moons ago, and there are many things I experienced under the moons, after drinking Tej, back then, none of them will I tell. minusculebiggrin

Ha that's not all :D If nine months later the woman gave birth, a huge mead fest would be held, again, celebrating and honoring the mead and the newborn. It wasn't as romantic as it's portrayed there though. They had a mission to fulfill and the privacy part also included not interacting a lot with them, not only keeping their privacy but also forcefully shunning them out during that time. The relief from burdens also came with exclusion of community during that time as they provided food, firewood and mead, it was expected that the community receives something back.

Ever correlate the color of the moon ... with the color of honey ... when the color of the moon changes to yellow?
