Just a quick question, sorry couldn't find it answered or completely missed it...

Are there any rules and/or guidelines as to how much (text) can be "quoted" here from external sites such as msm articles, academia papers, books, US gov't websites, etc.?? Along with respective source links of course.

Thanks!

The Boss may come by shorty if she is not already asleep with a different opinion but in Rogue history as long as a link to an article is provided there are many threads where the entire article is quoted which IMO is a better way of doing things.

Agreed, I like that.

Sometimes you just can't get the point across without the whole article.

Another thing I like when posting is you do not have to write a dissertation for the CIA about your feelings. Write as much as you want or as little as it is your thread.
yeah, Sky is right. Post the whole thing if you want to, but make sure you include a link, to make sure the original author is credited, and to let folks verify if they so desire.

It can get annoying and frustrating to have to break off mid thought to finish an interesting article.

Dissertation? I'm feeling a little attacked here...

There is a difference between writing something because you honestly have something to say versus writing a dissertation because you are commanded to; besides without sucking up, I like most of your dissertations. !! minusculebeercheers

The Source is a must. You will find we are really easy to get along with here.
Also break the Quote in to readable paragraphs not one mass wall of words.  smallkillingpc

That is a good point -- no one likes to read a wall of text, so be sure to space it out to make it easier to read

As always, link the source and all is good  minusculethumbsup

Yep, got it! Thank you much.
Also, in some articles, not all paragraphs contain the most important content that is most needed.
Usually the very last paragraphs are repetition and often are not needed.

When that happens, I just omit those useless paragraphs to shorten the reading material.
Leaving the most relevant material that I will copy
