I apologize for how I am starting this thread. I know it is poor form to start a thread with poor or little content, but there is a rationale associated with my break from the proper and expected when posting.

I need to know if you have ever heard the term "walk-in".

It is a term that I have heard, but I have no real knowledge or experience with the phenomena.

Before I share my experience I need to know a little more about them, so I can determine if my experience was valid, or just a thing, not worth any more of my consideration.

I am interested in any information you may have about walk-ins. They don't have to be personal experiences, any knowledge of them will be helpful.
Do you mean Walk-In as in Soul or Spirit swap?

I've heard of this but have no real experience to share.

Now, "Lock-Ins" I AM familiar with!

I have heard that may be what they are, but I have also heard they may be something else.

I researched them and I was able to find some information, but the information I found left me with more questions than answers.
It would help decide whether to give a 'yea' or 'nay' if provided with further clarification on 'what' you are calling/counting a 'walk in'.
My experience, that could (possibly) fit into said category is/was extensive, exuberant, and ultimately maddening.
So - Please, if you don't mind, drop a few more crumbs...
Thanks
When we first started this board we had big plans going on. @"Sol" and some other members, including myself, had started preparing to do some radio shows. I had been contacting people to interview, and one claimed to be a "walk-in".

Sol might still have our prerecorded interview with "it" somewhere. It claimed to be a demon, but must have been a very weak one, because it was the nicest demon I've ever come across.

Now, before you judge and say it was just someone with mental illness, you'd have to hear her/his story. The events surrounding her tale were quite convincing.

I think she/he even became a member here after that, but I haven't seen her post anything in years.

ETA: I just went through the member's list to see if her/his name was here; it wasn't. It must have been on a previous board where "it" joined, and she/he never came over to this board when we transferred.

The walk-in experience I had comes from a very unreliable source, which means it could be more imagination than truth, though it had the visceral effect that makes me leaning more towards truth, than I feel comfortable with.

I have not yet learned the origin or the source but I was told that they first tried to enter animals with very poor results.

I am led to believe that there are more than one type of walk-in, or should I say, they don't all share the same level of ability. Some can make the transition seamlessly, while others are so awkward that they draw attention to themselves right away. They are often mistakenly diagnosed as being ill.

It was shared with me that more are learning the ability, but the majority still are not skilled enough to go unnoticeable.

I left out some details to see if anyone else has heard of this phenomena and if they can fill in some of the blanks.

The walk-in I talked with didn't admit to being a demon but when I asked her, "Does it scare you when I say the name of Jesus." She laughed. She said it didn't scare her, but what did scare her is that it sounds like I was am going to make things just a little more difficult for her.

I asked that question because she was dress in a habit like the old nuns used to wear, and she had made references to extraterrestrial life, or should I say, life outside of our Earthly boundaries. So I didn't get enough information to decidedly choose demon or extraterrestrial, or if even both.

As I understand it, a walk-in is a disembodied spirit that possesses a living human body. It can do this while the spirit of the living person is still "in there".
Sometimes they may just want to use the body for a short while to get a message to loved ones; other times they want to take over completely. This is when it becomes a battle for which spirit is strongest. Sometimes an agreement is made between the two to allow equal time using the body. This is what doctors call a split personality.

I do have some stories on walk-ins somewhere, but I don't know if they're here, or on ATS.  I'll try to do a search later.

Well at least I think I know now what she meant when she said she was afraid I was going to make things more difficult for her.

If she was indeed a true and real walk-in, and if there are entities with the ability to take over or share our bodies, I am probably the worse candidate they could ever come across. minusculebiggrin

It sounds to me like a more "PC" term for possession, maybe one that makes it sound less harmful and more acceptable to certain kinds of people.

Without a doubt. Once the transition has taken place, it is a straight up possession.

My interest was in the claim that supposedly, there is an increase in the number of walk-ins/possessions, and that they are becoming better at going undetected.

I haven't been reading any evidence of such, though in this day of instant gratification and guiltless debauchery I have little doubt that FEIGNING possession as an excuse might be on the uptick.

A lot of celebrities have walk-ins take over when they go on stage. They sold their soul to become the tip top singer/actor, or whatever they wish to be.

Beyonce's eyes can be seen "glowing" at times, and Madonna is totally possessed. I've seen some of my favorite You Tuber's talking about this and showing clips of when this happens.

There are different kinds of spirits that can be walk-ins. Some are just human spirits that need to do some unfinished business before moving on. Others are demons. They can be on many different levels of evil.

People associate possession with a demonic entity most of the time because they are the most noticeable. What doctors label as a split personality is/are the regular human spirits.

Sometimes during surgery while a person is "out" they wake up and the family says they are not the same person. A different spirit can take over the body during this time.

I looked for my stories on walk-ins. I couldn't find it here. Went to ATS, but it's buried in one of my long threads somewhere. I did find an email to "it".  They called themselves Zeno. That's all the information I have for now.

I have heard about folk going to bed as one person and waking up as someone else. I had patient once that swore the person she woke up to,  that was in the bed next to her, was not her husband of 60 years. We tried to convince her that it was likely from a silent stroke, but she was not convinced. Things calmed down after a while, but you could tell that they both seemed like strangers to each other.

Might be capgras delusion, I think I have seen this but not sure. But if you think about it , it must be very frighting.

Sometimes, well, most of the time, people go on astral journeys while they sleep. The soul/spirit leaves the body during this time. A sneaky spirit CAN jump in while the other spirit is out in the ethereal plane.

In order for this spirit to stay in command of the body, the other spirit would have to agree to allow them to stay because our spirit is attached to our body by a golden thread until we die. The person would have to agree to give their body and remain in the background until the body dies. Maybe some people just don't want to come back; life is hard.

I can see where that may provide some with an excuse or a possible explanation for their untoward behavior.

Dealing with teens I see a lot of emulated behavior that has come to be accepted and expected among their peers, that is viewed as highly inappropriate by accepted norms of the present day.

I don't think they are feigning as much as maybe acting out so they will be accepted by their peers. I can see how some behavior can seem to be out of character, and daring, which may be what they are actually looking for. Maybe that is why Satanism has such an appeal for some.
