'...The owner of a car found near Notre Dame cathedral on Saturday containing
several gas cylinders is on an intelligence services watchlist of people suspected
of religious radicalisation, police officials say.

The Peugeot 607, which had no registration plates, contained seven gas cylinders,
one of them empty on the front passenger seat.
The car owner was taken into custody but later released, one judicial official said.

A couple, aged 34 and 29, were arrested at a motorway lay-by on Tuesday in southern
France in connection with the incident and remain in custody, the official said.

The car was found with its hazard lights flashing, as if to attract attention, police
said on Wednesday. “We think he may have been trying to carry out a test-run,”
one official said.

The French interior minister, Bernard Cazeneuve, said he was waiting for a report
from investigators on what the possible motives were for the incident.

There was no detonating device present in the car, which was parked on Quai de
Montebello, on the left bank of the Seine and just metres from Notre Dame cathedral,
one of Paris’s many popular tourist attractions. Documents written in Arabic were
found in the car.

More than 200 people have been killed in terror attacks in France over the past
18 months.

The country remains on maximum alert after calls by the Islamic State group for
followers to attack targets in France, which is bombing Isis bases in Iraq and Syria...'

'...Police say they have made two more arrests after the discovery of an
abandoned car containing gas cylinders in Paris.

The vehicle, which had no registration plates, was found with its hazard
lights flashing near Notre Dame cathedral on Saturday night.

Police said the car contained six gas tanks and may have been part of
a "test run" for a terror attack.  Two people were arrested and taken into
custody on Wednesday night, a judicial official said...'

A ‘fanatical and radicalised’ female terrorist suspect was gunned down by French police tonight after stabbing an officer during a police special forces raid.
She was said to be planning an ‘imminent attack’ before being shot in the head in Boussy-Saint-Antoine, in the Essonne department, south of Paris.
As she was rushed to hospital with potentially life-threatening wounds, two women accomplices were also arrested.

All were also linked to a car filled with gas canisters that was found close to Notre Dame Cathedral at the weekend.

The Peugeot 607 with on number plates was left just across the River Seine from the ancient place of worship – prompting fears of a terrorist attack.
Tonight’s drama unfolded soon after 8pm as an elite Raid special forces unit moved into an address at Boussy-Saint-Antoine.

As they approached the women, one is said to have drawn a knife and wounded an officer working for the DGSE, in the shoulder.
In a briefing afterwards, French Interior Minister Bernard Cazeneuve said: ‘These three young, radicalised women were preparing an imminent and violent attack.’
The women aged 19, 23, and 39 were not identified by Mr Cazenueve, who said one was in hospital suffering from bullet wounds to the head.

A FRENCH teenager shot by cops was part of France’s first ever all-female ISIS terror cell which planned to attack the Gare du Nord train station in Paris this week, it was alleged today.

Ines M. – whose full surname has not been revealed – was one of three women suspected of setting up a terror cell in Boussy-Saint-Antoine, south of the French capital.
The dramatic revelation came as the packed Gare du Nord was evacuated this evening as a bomb squad detonated a suspicious package with the city on high alert.

Today it emerged that the female jihadi cell – the first of its kind in France – had supposedly wanted to attack the Gare du Lyon in Paris, which is one of the busiest rail stations in Europe.
Police and officers from the DGSI, France’s counter-terrorism intelligence agency, had been on the trail of the trio since Sunday, when a car full of gas canisters was found parked in Paris.
There were fears it was going to be used in a terrorist attack on the nearby Notre Dame Cathedral, which ISIS has regularly threatened.
The Peugeot 607 belonged to Ines M.’s father and sources close to the case said she and her accomplices, aged 23 and 39, had tried to set it on fire before fleeing.

'Paris Terror Plot Suspect Was Engaged To Priest Killer.'

'A woman accused of plotting a Paris rail station bombing
was allegedly linked to a man behind a deadly church attack.

One of the women arrested over a foiled terror attack in Paris
had been engaged to a man who slit a priest's throat, it has
emerged.

Adel Kermiche, 19, murdered Father Jacques Hamel, who
was in his 80s, during a morning mass in July.

Kermiche and his accomplice Abdelmalik Petitjean were then shot
by police as they left the church in Saint-Etienne-du-Rouvray,
Normandy, using nuns as human shields.

On Friday, Paris prosecutor Francois Molins said the detained
woman, referred to as Sarah H, was also betrothed to another
extremist who carried out a deadly attack in June...'

Police have charged three women over a failed Islamist plot to blow up
a car packed with gas canisters outside Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris.



Last week, hours after the vehicle was found, counter terrorist police
arrested Ines Madani, 19, Sarah Hervouet, 23, and 39-year-old Amel
Sakaou at an apartment in a Paris suburb.

During the arrest Hervouet stabbed a policeman, injuring him in the
shoulder, while Madani was shot in the leg after she charged at an
officer with a knife.

A fourth woman, 29-year-old Ornella Gilligman, was charged at the
weekend after confessing she and Madani tried to set the car on fire
before fleeing after they saw a man they thought was a police officer
approach the vehicle.

The car was later found to contain five gas cylinders and three bottles
of diesel.

Both women were known to police for their links to Islamist radicals
and officers believe they were also contemplating obtaining suicide
belts or ramming cars filled with explosives into buildings...'
