Is Facebook Protecting Alleged ‘Whistleblower’ Eric Ciaramella?

'November 7, 2019 – An individual working for Cognizent, a Facebook contractor,
has come forward to disclose what they claim is a censorship campaign regarding
alleged CIA  ‘whistleblower’ Eric Ciaramella.

Cognizent first made headlines earlier this year when an article by the Verge entitled
‘The Secret Lives of Facebook Moderators in America’ was published.
The article disclosed the existence of thousands of human content moderators that
were being employed by Facebook to comb through content manually.

Here is an excerpt from that article:

Quote:"Over the past three months, I interviewed a dozen current
and former employees of Cognizant in Phoenix.

All had signed non-disclosure agreements with Cognizant in
which they pledged not to discuss their work for Facebook
—or even acknowledge that Facebook is Cognizant’s client.

The shroud of secrecy is meant to protect employees from users
who may be angry about a content moderation decision and seek
to resolve it with a known Facebook contractor.

The NDAs are also meant to prevent contractors from sharing
Facebook users’ personal information with the outside world, at
a time of intense scrutiny over data privacy issues.

But the secrecy also insulates Cognizant and Facebook from criticism
about their working conditions, moderators told me.  – The Verge"

The individual coming forward provided a picture of their work ID to show they are
an employee of Cognizent, and thus would be aware of internal Facebook content
moderator and censorship requests.

I have compiled the information that this source provided. I want to stress that as of
the time of the publishing of this article, this information has not been 100% verified.
The source wishes to remain anonymous and therefore was limited in what they were
able to disclose.

Here is the information that the alleged source provided to Dusty Auus, Twitter handle
@DustyWoomera:

I have been able to verify that ‘process executive’ is indeed the term Cognizent gives
to their full-time content moderation employees, as well as the strict rules regarding
use of cell phones and other electronics, etc.

The source describes a ‘dedicated queue’ for content related to the 2020 election,
which every American should be concerned about, whether liberal or conservative.
I was able to confirm this information regarding the upcoming layoffs.

The Tampa Bay Times reported that:

Quote:"Cognizant Technology Solutions said it is getting out of the content
moderation business in 2020, and that could mean job cuts at the
Carrollwood facility where workers have grappled with removing explicit
content from Facebook.

Cognizant announced the shift in an earnings call Wednesday.
Employees also received an email from Cognizant CEO Brian Humphries,
obtained by the Tampa Bay Times. In it, he explained that the company will
focus on its other content services —but in 2020 it will stop flagging
disturbing content for clients, most prominently Facebook. –Tampa Bay Times"

Most of the media are all complicit in corruption, as anyone who doesn't live under a rock knows.

They will swirl down the drain with the rest of the swamp rats before it's all said and done.

According to the e-mail, they are going to lift the ban once the identity is independently confirmed, so I don't see that aspect as a big deal - they're just covering their own asses from a lawsuit by the named individual if it turns out to be a false report.. i.e."fake news".

Of more concern to me is the list of politically censored items, and the list of "Elections Cross functional Partners". I'd kind of like to see Facebook's rationale for THAT, especially the censorship of "activists" - once one becomes an activist, he'd damned well better expect some attention to come his way, or his activism is in vain!

.
Diogenes was eating bread and lentils for supper. He was seen by the philosopher Aristippus, who lived comfortably by flattering the king.

Said Aristippus, ‘If you would learn to be subservient to the king you would not have to live on lentils.’ Said Diogenes, ‘Learn to live on lentils and you will not have to be subservient to the king.’
