The UK Assimilating With Today's World.

TBE has been spreading like wild fire the last few years here. Strange thing it came from Sweden (lots of imports). If birds carried it to England why did it not get there sooner. Here there has been a massive bed bug problem in university campus, Yep cause, non European students

It does seem odd -as you point out, that since the small amount of birds that actually do migrate from that region of
the world and have done so for thousands of years, why is it this tick is just becoming a concern now.

Wikipedia comments:
"...Tick species are widely distributed around the world, but they tend to flourish more in countries with warm, humid climates,
because they require a certain amount of moisture in the air to undergo metamorphosis, and because low temperatures inhibit
their development from eggs to larvae..."

"...Some of the most debilitating species occur in tropical countries. Tropical bont ticks affect most domestic animals and occur
in Africa and the Caribbean..."

I think we can safely say that Sweden and the UK are not seen as tropical countries and since the tiny amount of
migratory birds that travel to-and-fro from Sweden to Britain don't migrate to warmer climes, they are not the culprits.

Quote:'VILE AND WICKED' Evil member of Huddersfield grooming gang, 32, raped victim at
knifepoint and plied teen girls with sleeping pills.

'Leeds Crown Court heard how one member of the Huddersfield grooming gang raped a 12-year-old
girl and "left her bleeding on the floor" of a public park.
The abuser also raped a victim at knifepoint and plied teens with sleeping pills before forcing them into sex.

The trial is part of Operation Tendersea, a major investigation into historic sexual abuse against young girls
in Huddersfield, West Yorks with a total of 26 men now jailed for a combined 312 years for their horrific crimes.

One of the unnamed defendants - guilty of raping a "particularly vulnerable" 12-year-old -laughed at one of his
victims and called her a "sl*g" while he threatened her at knifepoint, the court heard.
The sick rapist also forced young teens to swallow a deadly cocktail of booze and sleeping pills to "subdue" them.

'BLEEDING ON THE FLOOR'
As he was sentenced, Judge Geoffrey Marson QC said: "You took the virginity of a particularly vulnerable
12-year-old and left her bleeding on the floor in the park. "She had to make her own way home, bleeding,
to an empty flat before disposing of her clothes in a bin bag.

"You provided her with a spliff beforehand."

The disgusting "campaign of rape" constituted, as Judge Marson said: "gross sexual abuse for the defendants’ own
perverted gratification." The judge went on to tell the men: "The way these girls were treated defies understanding,
this abuse was vile and wicked...None of you has expressed any remorse for what you did."
The men were last week found guilty of 12 offences against three teenage girls they "deliberately" targeted between
2005 and 2007.

VULNERABLE CHILDREN
This latest trial forms part of a wider operation which has seen scores of men - primarily hailing from Pakistan -jailed
for the sexual abuse of multiple girls. Judge Marson told the court how, when one of the victims moved to a care home
in another city, the gang tracked her down.
He said: "Very quickly the abusers had managed to locate her again.

Samuel Fikru, 32, was sentenced to eight years for two counts of rape.
Umar Zaman, 31, was found guilty of two counts of rape, but is thought to have fled

A 32-year-old man, who cannot be named for legal reasons, was sentenced to eight
years for one count of rape.
A 38-year-old man, who cannot be named, was sentenced to seven years in prison
for one count of attempted rape.
A 32-year-old who cannot be named was given a 14 year sentence for five counts of rape.
Banaris Hussain, 36, was found guilty of one count of rape and will be sentenced on Monday.

"One night the house phone rang and a man asked for the girl and said 'tell her I want to f*** her'."
The judge said there were repeated calls to the house phone threatening her carers to "let her go or else."

In his sentencing remarks, Judge Marson said the men made the young girls feel special with flattery and gifts before
abusing their trust. He said: "When the abuse began they were children as young as 12, all vulnerable because of family
and other circumstances.

"They thought these men were showing them genuine affection.
"So corrupted were some of these girls by this abuse they regarded the behaviour as normal. "When taken to isolated places
such as the moors or a reservoir, if they didn't comply they were told they would be left to make their own way back.
"Children on their own, children late at night in isolated areas."...'

Nothing spectacular. I just was acquainted with a young lady (no, not THAT young!) whom I believe he was eyeballing for a "second wife". If it's the same dude, he went to Pakistan during those negotiations and picked up his first wife - while negotiations for his second wife were ongoing! The gent didn't want to waste any time, apparently. I never saw his face, so can't be certain, but the name and age range fit.

Quote:SULLY LINE TRIAL: Drug dealers given jail sentences totalling over 80 years.

'TWELVE men and a woman have been jailed for a total of more than 80 years for their roles
in the Sully Line “ring and bring” drug dealing operation that netted up to £4 million in just over
a year.

The line, that was first set up in 2012, received 229,000 calls between July 2017 and August last year,
Bradford Crown Court heard today. It was centred on Bradford’s Lumb Lane area and manned 24 hours
a day, supplying heroin and crack cocaine to a stream of addicts who rung from phone boxes.

“It was a business that never closes,” Judge Jonathan Rose said, labelling the “massive” trade in Class
A drugs wicked and greedy. Six men were sentenced for conspiracy to supply Class A drugs.

Mohammed Assan, 26, of Quaker Street, Undercliffe, Bradford, was jailed for 11 years and four months.
He and his brother, Mohammed Ayaz, 29, of the same address, were directors of the Sully Line, playing
a leading role in its operation. Ayaz was imprisoned for 13 years and two months.

A third director, Tassawar Aslam, 34, of Victor Street, Heaton, Bradford, was locked up for ten years.

A storeman for the line, Amir Rehman, 28, of Lumb Lane, Manningham, was jailed for eight and a half years.
He earned £700 a week warehousing the drugs at his home address. When it was searched by the police,
officers seized 561 deals of Class A drugs worth £3,500.

Mujahid Mahmood, 28, of Hollins Street, Bradford, was jailed for ten years. Described as a “trusted lieutenant”
for the operation, he fled the country part-way through his trial. He was believed to have flown to Islamabad
and will serve his sentence if he is arrested on a warrant.

The ring’s “communications man” Sheraz Mahmood, 31, of Airedale College Terrace, Undercliffe, Bradford,
was jailed for five years and four months. His role was to keep the Sully Line operational by replacing SIM
cards and putting calls diverts on to the line.

Seven defendants were jailed for supplying Class A drugs by street dealing for the Sully Line.
Hareem Hussain, 22, of Charteris Road, Lower Grange, Bradford, was locked up for three years and nine months.
A teenager at the time, Judge Rose labelled her “a dishonest woman” who had lied to the police and the court.

Mohammed Vanid Khan, 45, of Cumberland Road, Lidget Green Bradford, who was the driver when Hussain was
handing out drugs, was jailed for four years and two months.
Mohmmed Zahid, 27, of Manor Farm Gardens, Middleton, Leeds, was locked up for two years and ten months.
Muhammed Asfan, 37, of Lynfield Drive, Heaton, Bradford, was jailed for two years and two months.

Former solider David Coates, 35, who is currently serving a jail sentence for drug dealing, was imprisoned for four
years...'

As you can see, these aren't isolated incidents.

Quote:Jack and Jill Torquay: Nursery children 'possible sex assault victims'.

'"A number of children" have been identified as potential victims by police investigating claims of a sexual
assault at a nursery. Officers were called to Jack and Jill Childcare, in Torquay, in July.
Devon and Cornwall Police said it had since identified several children as "potential victims of contact offences".

An employee, who was arrested and bailed in July, has been moved out of the area while inquiries continue.
The nursery, which caters for children as young as two, has had its licence suspended.

'Lone individual'
Acting Det Ch Insp James Stock, of Devon and Cornwall Police's Public Protection Unit, said more than 250 hours
of CCTV at the nursery had been reviewed.

He said "a number of children aged two-plus have been identified as potential victims of contact offences" as a result.
More than 100 families who have children at the nursery have been contacted as part of the investigation, police said.
Officers and social workers had visited parents and guardians of those believed to be victims.

In a notice posted on a window at the nursery, Ofsted said the suspension runs from 24 October to 24 December.
"The purpose of the suspension is to allow time to investigate our belief that a child may be exposed to a risk of
harm and for any necessary steps to be taken to eliminate or reduce the risk of harm," the notice said.

"We will regularly review the situation and will stop the suspension within this period if we believe children are no longer
at risk. "Suspension does not automatically mean that a provider is unsuitable to provide care in the future or that we will
cancel registration.
"We only take steps to cancel registration if we consider that the provider is no longer suitable to provide childcare."

Acting Det Ch Insp Stock said contact with the suspect appeared to be "limited to within the nursery setting and we do
not believe that any other member of staff had knowledge of these matters". "These appear to be the actions of a lone
individual. and the offences do not involve the taking or distributing of any images," he said.

Nancy Meehan, deputy director of Torbay Children's Services, said safeguarding children was taken "incredibly seriously"
and a helpline had been set up for anyone who had concerns. ..'

In the small English town of Ramsbottom, the latest down-grade of the UK's security level might get
them wondering.

Quote:Homes evacuated after 'homemade explosive device' found - bomb squad on scene.

Three people have been arrested on suspicion of manufacturing explosive device.

'Homes and businesses have been evacuated in Lancashire after a “homemade explosive device”
was found during a police raid. Bomb disposal experts are reportedly on scene and cops have sealed
off several streets in Ramsbottom, Lancashire.

Police discovered the device on Wednesday morning following a pre-planned raid by Lancashire East
Police and Greater Manchester Police. An 18-year-old-woman and two men aged 26 and 27 have been
arrested on suspicion of manufacturing explosive devices.

Manchester Evening News reports the incident is not being treated as terror-related.
Pictures show a huge police presence in the area and a bomb disposal van has been pictured outside
an address on William Street in Stubbins.
The Explosives Ordnance Department are being aided by a bomb disposal robot.

Reports of evacuation surfaced on social media and people are thought to have been told to leave the area.
Supt Stasia Osiowy, of Lancashire East Police, said: “We have evacuated a number of properties as a
precautionary measure but there is not believed to be any immediate threat.
“We will endeavour to return people to their homes as soon as possible.”

Kate Anthony Hair Studio based in Stubbins said on Facebook: "Unfortunately due to a police issue in the
area - the salon has been evacuated. "At this moment in time - we do not know a time we can re-open."
Citizens in the area are said to be safe and there have been no reports of injuries.

Rest centres set up at the Rostron Arms Pub at Edenfield and Haslingden Sports Centre on Helmshore Road.
Lancashire East Police said enquiries are currently ongoing...'

'Cops have arrested 17 people on suspicion of sex trafficking - with 29 alleged victims found in East London.
Dawn raids were carried out today as cops busted a Romanian gang suspected of smuggling women into the
UK to work as prostitutes.

Cops stormed 16 homes in Redbridge, Havering, Barking and Dagenham, Tower Hamlets and Newham at
around 6am, LBC reports. Dramatic footage shows the Vulnerability Investigations Team forcing their way
into one property in riot gear.

Police arrested 14 men and three women aged between 17 and 50 on suspicion of modern slavery, controlling
prostitution, Class A drug offences and firearm offences. Two were already wanted on European arrest warrants.
Officers also discovered 29 women, also thought to be Romanian and aged between 20 and 40, who are believed
to be potential victims.

Cash, drugs and a stun gun were seized, with another man arrested in Romania in simultaneous raids.
The women are now being supported by police.

The arrests were part of Operation Kelang, which involves the Met, the Crown Prosecution Service , Romanian police
and prosecutors, the Romanian Embassy, and Europol and Eurojust. Detective Chief Inspector Richard McDonagh
from the Met’s Modern Slavery and Kidnap Unit said:
“The Met recognises the seriousness of modern slavery and the devastation it brings to people’s lives.

“Today’s synchronised operational activity spanned 16 addresses in east London and four addresses in Romania
with the aim of, in one fell swoop, dismantling an organised crime network and providing support to the victims.”...'

Sometimes, one can be forgiven to think that the British pastime of gangs of 'swarthy-skinned' men raping
women has subsided. But it seems the hobby is still going on and just not reported as much in the UK major

Quote:Pair drugged woman before subjecting her to horrific gang rape as another man watched.

Hemin Salimpirik and Kuchar Rahim attacked the woman when she was incapacitated
after being given a drink that left her unable to move.

'A woman was drugged and then gang-raped by four men while another looked on.
The victim was forced to relive her horrific ordeal in court after two men charged with rape denied the offence.

Hemin Salimpirik and Kuchar Rahim.

Hemin Salimpirik, 33, and Kuchar Rahim, 35, were jailed for a total of 32 years after a judge said they had
plotted with the other men to have sex with her. A sentencing hearing at Newport Crown Court on Tuesday
heard both defendants were found guilty of rape following a trial which forced their victim, who cannot be
named for legal reasons, to give evidence before a jury.

Two other men were also involved in the abuse while a fifth man watched on without assisting the woman but
they did not appear before the court and have not been charged.

The court was told Salimpirik had invited the woman to his home in Abertridwr, Caerphilly, on November 24 last
year and both had agreed to have consensual sex. But when she arrived at the property the woman discovered
there were four other men present whom she did not know.

Salimpirik told her they were leaving but ushered her to the living room before taking her to the kitchen where she
was given a drink which had been spiked with a drug designed to incapacitate her.

Sentencing, Judge Jeremy Jenkins said: “I am quite satisfied it was at that time that the plan to have sex with her,
come what may, was made between you all.” The woman began to feel strange and felt unable to move her head
or her limbs. She said she wasn’t drunk but described it as a “feeling she had never felt before”.

At this point Salampirik began to initiate the abuse and said to her “Come to daddy” before the others joined in.
Judge Jenkins said: “She told you to f*** off and leave her alone and she complained [it] was painful but you carried
and she was told to carry on and do what she was told.

“It must have been obvious to all of you she was not consenting – moreover she was unable to give meaningful consent
to what was happening because she had been drugged. "You could not care less and you carried on regardless.
You treated her like a dog, leaving her semi-unconscious on the floor in the kitchen.”

When the woman reported that she had been raped to police both defendants were arrested but denied the allegations.
As a result of her ordeal the woman told the court she had suffered from nightmares and had fears for her safety.
She also had to move from her home as she no longer felt safe there.

Ruth Smith, representing Salimpirik, agreed it was an “extremely unpleasant” incident but said it was not a case of
abduction or forcing entry into the victim’s home. She said the defendant was a working man who played an active
role in his children’s lives and had created a home which he will now lose.

Representing Rahim, Alex Greenwood said his client had moved to the UK from Iran 15 years ago as a political refugee
and has a wife and three children. He said his client was a non-English speaker and would find prison more difficult because
of this.

Judge Jenkins said: “Salimpirik you were the prime mover in this enterprise and you orchestrated the others in carrying out a
gang rape.” Salimpirik, of High Street, Abertridwr, was sentenced to 17 years imprisonment while Rahim, of Marlbrook Walk,
Bolton, Greater Manchester, was sentenced to 15 years imprisonment.
Both were ordered to sign the sex offenders’ register for life.

Detective Inspector Michelle Chaplin, of Gwent Police, said: “This was a challenging case and the investigating team have
worked tirelessly to bring these defendants to justice. However if it were not for the courage of this young lady, who was the
victim in this case, then these dangerous offenders would not have been convicted.

“Not only has she had to endure a harrowing experience but she has had to relive this through a difficult court case.
“It is thanks to her that justice has been served and it is only through her strength that this positive result has been possible.”...'

Ah! THERE is that famed British restraint and talent for understatement! "extremely unpleasant". In the US, "abduction" occurred at the point the victim was drugged - at the very least it would be what is legally known as "constructive abduction", but I believe a good case could be made for actual abduction here.

Poor fella! Isn't prison SUPPOSED to be difficult? Isn't that the whole point of imprisonment? No matter - the gent will have a number of years to polish up his English skills. In addition to leaning the phrase "yes dear" for when cellmate Bubba requests he bend over for inspection and possible utilitarian purposes, he may be speaking English well enough to rival Shakespeare by the time of his release...

I believe it was Salimpirik who uttered the words "come to daddy", but Rahim is the one who will need to sharpen his English skills to be a good prison wife to Bubba - at least well enough to understand when Bubba beckons him with a come-hither glance and says "come to daddy". He should also learn the phrase "bitch slap" so that he understands the proper terminology should he lag when Bubba beckons.

I honestly don't know why I bother now... it just seems to be the norm.
No arrests -of course!

I guess they could impose an age restriction on buying or having a Sharp or Sharpened Objected in your Possession.
But,,, Like California Gun laws,,,,,, that won't Stop the Killings.

Oh my, I hope this has no connections with how British television celebrities, members of the capital's
judicial system and quasi-politician-Journalists acquire their favourite white powder.

Nah... that would be silly and anyway, it would have to be worded in a manner to reflect otherwise.
But now at least, London can boast it made the 150th mark of killings before 2019 has finished, so I
suppose that's something.

Quote:DOORSTEP EXECUTION Dad, 36, shot dead in front of wife & child outside £1.5m London home is
brother of Real Housewives star Misse Beqiri.

'A dad who was gunned down on Christmas Eve in front of his wife and young child is the brother of
Real Housewives of Cheshire star Misse Beqiri. Swedish national Flamur 'Alex' Beqiri, 36, was sprayed
with bullets after returning to his £1.5million London home from an family evening out on Tuesday.

Misse Beqiri and brother Flamur 'Alex' Beqiri.

The gunman fled the scene on foot after the slaying on Battersea Church Road, South West London, cops
said. Medics and a health worker neighbour battled to save Flamur, but he was pronounced dead at the
scene.
Police have launched a murder investigation but no arrests have been made.

Flamur previously had close connections to major figures in Malmo’s underworld and was linked to a massive
cannabis smuggling plot 12 years ago. He ran record label 2020rec and had previously shared a picture with
his sister Real Housewives of Cheshire star Missé Beqiri on Facebook with the caption: "Brothers!"

Flamur, who moved to the UK in 2016, met his wife Debora Krasniqi on Facebook and had a luxury wedding in
October 2018 in Lake Como that was covered by Albanian news because local celebrities were in attendance.

Misse and her partner Towie star Jake Hall attended the wedding where she shared a touching video to her
239,000 followers of their first dance with the caption: "A magical love, congratulations to my best friend and
my brother. I love you both to the moon and back. A true love story."

Sun Online contacted 29-year-old Missé's representatives for comment.
Swedish media have reported that his murder was “linked to criminal networks” in the country.
Neighbours have described the horrifying killing as an "execution".
The victim becomes the 150th murder victim in the capital this year -the highest in more than a decade.

'PROFESSIONAL HIT'
Neighbours described rushing to help the man after hearing a series of "incredibly loud bangs".
One local resident told Sun Online that police said they believed the killing was a professional hit.
He said: "I asked the question to the police. They told me he was Albanian and he had been living
here a couple of years.

"It cost £1.5 million plus whatever he spent on doing it up. "I said: 'Is it a professional hit?'
And he said: 'It seems something like that.'"
Locals said the couple had two young children, including a newborn baby.
The couple are said to have carried out extensive renovations over the last year after moving into the
townhouse.

'LYING THERE SCREAMING'
A floral tribute left outside the house read: "To Debbie, thinking of you and your family at this difficult time.
Lots of love." Another 44-year-old neighbour looked out of their kitchen window after hearing the gunshots
on Christmas Eve, followed by the victim's wife's screams.

He told Sun Online: "She just gave birth really recently.
"He was shot on his doorstep. He was inside the railings on the patio.
"She was lying there and screaming. She was with her coat on, and something in her arms.

"He was still breathing. Some of the neighbours went there to try and help. Some nurses, and there was a
doctor also trying to compress the wounds. "He has been shot in the neck and the buttock. Someone said
he was also shot in the stomach.

"One neighbour was holding his head talking to him, getting him to continue breathing.
"He was still alive when the ambulance arrived.
"They seemed a very nice couple. One thing that really got my attention is they bought this house about a
year ago and they refurbished it for about a year.
"It was something treasured by them. When they moved in you could tell they wanted a beautiful home."

'FIVE GUNSHOTS'
Julian Stratton, 51, was at his parents' home just metres from the scene at the time of the incident.
He said: "We are friends with a man who lives directly opposite the scene. He told us there was a
knock at the victim's door, which was answered.

"Then there were five gunshots. Four back-to-back, 'bang, bang, bang, bang,' then a pause before the final shot.
"The shots were heard by many neighbours, but being Christmas Eve, most people thought they were fireworks,
at first."

Detectives were seen removing evidence bags filled with belongings from the home today.
A Santa Claus decoration was hanging from one first floor window with the greetings 'Merry Christmas' and 'Happy
New Year' sprayed on to a ground floor window.

Photos taken following the shooting appear to show the man's body covered with a white blanket on the other side
of the road from his house.

DCI Jamie Stevenson, of the Specialist Crime Command, said: "Our investigation is in the very early stages and we
are still working to establish what the motive could be that has led to a man losing his life in such a horrific way, on
Christmas Eve, in front of his family.

"They have been devastated by this horrible event and are being supported by specialist officers.
"We know that the victim was returning home with his wife and young child following an evening out, when he was
shot just yards from his home.

"The attack took place at 21:00hrs in the evening. Not only would many people have been out going about their
business, but I am sure many residents would have been alarmed by the sound of the disturbance and gone to
see what had happened.

“Did you see a person fleeing the area? Where did they go, and what did they look like? Had you noticed anyone
loitering in the area beforehand?"

Alex was a close associate of Naief Adawi, 33, and his doctor wife Karolin Hakim, 31, who was shot dead while
holding their two-month-old baby on 26 August this year. Naief handed over the child to his wife when gunmen
targeted him outside a falafel kiosk in Malmo’s affluent Ribersborg district.

After Naief fled, the assassin turned his gun in fury on Karolin and riddled her with bullets before finishing her off
with a shot to the head as she lay dying on the pavement. The murder of Karolin - who came from a law-abiding
family and had trained as a doctor in Poland before moving to Sweden - provoked outrage and debate on the
country’s mushrooming gangland culture.

In 2008, Karolin’s husband Naief was one of a gang of 20 men who stole 62million Danish Kroner - £7million in
sterling - in one of Denmark’s biggest ever cash in transit robberies.
Naief was jailed for eight years, although most of the gang were never caught and almost all the stolen loot remains
outstanding...'

Stormzy: UK is 'definitely racist' and Johnson has made it worse.

'Stormzy has said Britain is “definitely, 100%” racist and that this has worsened under Boris Johnson
because his comments have emboldened people with racist views.

Grime artist says prime minister’s racist comments have encouraged public hate.

The grime artist, who has just released his second album, Heavy is the Head, made the comments in an
interview with the Italian newspaper La Repubblica. When asked if Britain was still racist, the musician
said “definitely, 100%” even if it was “hidden”.

“It’s like: ‘Oh no, we’re not racist’. But there’s a lot of racism in the country,” he said. “The difficult thing with
the UK is, as you said, in Italy it’s a clear problem, whereas trying to explain that Britain is a racist country
[to a British person] is the most difficult thing ever.

They think: ‘No, it’s not. Stormzy you’re successful. Look at London, there’s loads of black people …’ It’s a
more difficult case to fight.”...'

Pregnant woman among migrants found in the Channel.

'A pregnant woman was among more than 40 migrants rescued during operations on both sides of the
Channel. One boat was intercepted off the coast of Kent, while French authorities picked up two others
that had got into trouble.
A dinghy carrying 11 people, who were all said to be Iranian, was met by a Border Force cutter.

The expectant mother was among 20 people rescued from a boat that was taking on water near Dunkirk.
Eleven others, including two young children, were picked up off the coast of Calais after their engine failed.
All 31 rescued by the French were taken to Calais, where they were met by medics and border police.

The 11 people brought to the UK will now be interviewed by immigration officials, the Home Office said.
On Boxing Day, 49 people crossed the Channel in small boats, with 14 others returned to France.

The Home Office was accused of "criminalising refugees" after saying it would seek to return anyone who arrived
in the UK illegally back to mainland Europe. More than 1,800 have reached British shores after attempting to cross
the Channel in small boats this year, according to BBC research.

In the same time, more than 120 people who arrived in small boats have been sent back to European countries,
the Home Office said. The Home Office said it would "always ensure we have the right resources in place to keep
our border secure," adding: "Individuals who reach the UK illegally should be in no doubt about our determination
to return them to Europe."...'

It's a wonder how the Rotherham Police could sleep at night knowing this was going on under
their watch. How would you deal with the fear of be being called racist as you ignore the reality
of a chld being gang-raped?

I know how I would deal with it and it involves a shovel.

Quote:Rotherham police chief ‘admits to ignoring child abuse over race fears’

'A senior police officer admitted his force ignored the Rotherham child abuse ring for fear of
increasing ‘racial tensions’, it has been reported.

The admission was made after the police watchdog upheld six complaints against South Yorkshire
Police by a former child victim, according to The Times.

The chief inspector is said to have described the abuse as ‘P*** shagging’ that had been ‘going on’
for 30 years in a document quoted by the newspaper, adding:
‘With it being Asians, we can’t afford for this to be coming out.’

The victim, now an adult woman, was reportedly abused over several years from 2003.
The watchdog is said to have told her it was ‘very clear that you were sexually exploited by Asian men’
and upheld a complaint that officers ‘took insufficient action to prevent you from harm’.

The Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC), which replaced the Independent Police Complaints
Commission (IPCC) part-way through the five-year investigation into the scandal, has reportedly been
unable to identify the chief inspector.

Some of leak’s contents indicate sexist attitudes may have influenced the police’s alleged inertia as well
as the fear of being seen as racist. The girl’s father told The Times a fellow high-ranking officer had to
confront the policeman after he spoke about his daughter ‘as though she [had been] an adult doing it of
her own free will’.

The girl had been missing for weeks, but the officer told her father ‘that in his day they used to call them
“P*** shaggers”‘ and that others in the force saw her as a ‘naughty kid, a teenager playing up’, he continued.
The final report has not yet been published.

The IOPC’s director of major investigations Steve Noonan said: ‘We are continuing to make significant
progress with Operation Linden and we have completed more than 90% of the enquiries we have identified
so far.’

‘A small number of investigation reports still need to be completed and our investigation into the actions of
the former senior command team at South Yorkshire Police during the period of our investigation continue
 and is progressing well.

‘Our priority throughout the investigation has, and always will be, the welfare of the many survivors of child
sexual abuse we have been engaging with. ‘As their individual cases conclude we provide them with a
personal update on our findings.’

An over-arching report covering all of Operation Linden’s findings will be published when the probe winds
up, he added. The newspaper says South Yorkshire Police had accepted the IOPC’s findings and added
that the chief inspector’s comments were ‘not something we tolerate in today’s force’...'
