Okay....let's chat....
#1
If anyone of you fine gals and gals feel like it !

Here's my chat topic:

What the hell happened?

Oh that's just one of those WTF happened? type of thing...there's more...

It's not just men. It's also women... WTH ??

When did courtesy, gallantry, being a gentleman, being a Lady go out the window? And why?

People nowadays are so frickin' weird, I wonder if I'm on the same planet I was born onto...

I remember the 70's...perhaps that's the problem.

I remember leaving home, not locking the door.

I remember drinking beer at the park in my late teens...cops would come by and ask if we were ok...and to be careful...

I remember smoking pot at those same parks. I remember falling asleep in those parks with my male and female friends...

I remember people helping people out in the neighborhood when tragedy struck...giving shelter, food, a helping hand...

I remember listening to the best damn music that's ever been composed...

I remember people being courteous...

I remember kids respecting and honoring their parents...and their siblings...whether the be good or bad...

I remember a certain freedom that no longer exists...

I remember going out to buy a case of beer for my Dad and carry it back in my four wheel trolley...from the corner store...when I was 10 years old...

I remember Christmas parties that lasted well over New Years...with all of my uncles, aunts and cousins...

I remember being asked to be polite at all times, to say please and thank you...

I remember when men were men and women were women...even when they were gay...

I remember and that's the problem.

What in the actual fucking hell happened???

Old school perhaps.

But I also remember being so much happier.

Anyone else?

I also remember every one of those things you listed.  I miss those days.

I think what happened was...

1. Made sure the price of goods rose so high that both parents had to leave home and work, leaving kids alone to do as they please.
2. Made sure families were torn apart so males would have no role model, thus turning them into... well, you know.
3. Made it unlawful to spank your child. No discipline grew into no respect for others.

And some may not like this next one, but I believe this is when things really started to change...

4. They took God out of schools (and now today we have children/teens going to Churches of Satan) They don't teach that there is a price to pay for bad behavior, but a reward waiting for bad behavior.

5. Infiltrated the school system with Social/Liberal ideology, and gives rewards for not winning.

This has led to the "kids" thinking everything is supposed to be given to them whether they participate and contribute to society, or not. They've become lazy and when they don't get their way, they rebel (throw a temper tantrum) and spew the filth from their mouth at anyone who disagrees with them. They don't want to work for what they get, so they take it from others who did the work.
So what we have today is a bunch of brats who think the world owes them a free ride.

Bring in the movie stars and their idols of music who they look up to, and then tell them how they should think to be "cool"; how they should dress, who they should love, and who they should hate.
In other words, you now have a brainless mass of sheep that follow their idols and hang on their every word for direction.

Put these idols out there and have them tell their followers that having a 10 year old boy parade down the walkway dressed in drag is the coolest thing ever, and no one will say a word. It's cool, right?

Right?  smallseeingred

Tell men they need to be more sensitive. Make them believe that looking like a woman, acting like a woman, sounding like a woman is what being a man is all about.
And guess what?
People will believe it because some fool in California or New York said it was true.   smalltappinghead

Okay, @"Sol".   You've got me all worked up now.  I'll stop here and let someone else chime in.

I think Mystic hit every branch I wanted to place here!
And with Sky's thread, it shows how the main western empires have been diluted.

When I say 'empire' -I don't mean some oppressing bully that the universities are seeking
to paint any country that values its people and looks to control other lands. I mean a place
of civilised patronage, where its citizens are cared for and strive to improve.

Isn't it strange that old-ish(!) nobodies on a website see the change and the mainstream media
don't?! Or something more important... who's behind the weakening of these societies.

The ones in the countries that are implementing the watering-down are mere tools to lure the
young into believing their bedroom is the same as the outside world... and yet, nobody is looking
to see who's behind the curtain pulling the levers.
.............................................

I remember Christmas.
My older sister (she must be in her eighties now), once told my Mother when I was just a small child,
that she didn't believe in Santa Clause. I don't recall the actual instance, but my sister told me about
it later.

She's a tough bitch, born with a withered arm and limps due to a double-decker bus running over her
leg when she was very small. Throw in that's she's deaf too and I think that most would assume this
is a sob-story!
But it's not, she was born prematurely at home and my Grandpa kept her alive in front of a roaring
fire with a spoon of whisky to draw the flames of resolution I felt when I used to fight with her.

Ever been bitten inside your mouth whilst someone's good arm is knocking seven-shades of shit out
of you?!!! That's my sis -that is.

Anyway, on Christmas morning, when my other older sister and I were opening our presents, there on
the fire-hearth lay her gifts.
A piece of coal and a tangerine.

That was back in the early sixties and it wouldn't be until 1983 when I was getting married and sitting
with my family at the wedding reception, was the incident brought up again.

My mother explained to my new wife that to renounce Santa Claus was like denying God existed or that
John Wayne wasn't the fastest gun in the West... and she said it with a face of cold-eye seriousness.

I lightheartedly remarked that it was a good ploy to make sure you kept your kids in line and turning to
my wide-eyed better-half, I smirked with the comment "Yeah, then she got her real gifts later"

The hand that carried the burden its crippled brother could not, reached over and touched my wife's arm.
"No... there were no other presents, just the coal and fruit" my sister said earnestly. A glance to my
mother told us both that this was true.

On Monday night... Christmas Eve, that limping woman will place a mince pie on her mantle-piece above the
fire and leave a carrot beside it for the reindeer. Her husband is dead and her married-daughter lives far away,
but I know my sister will be at the window because she believes in the man who brings joy to children.

My son is twenty six years-old and I am nearing sixty. My pragmatic Dad and the ghost-seer and demon
-fighter that was my mother have gone to battle whatever lies beyond this life.

But every Christmas Eve, me and my boy leave a slug of whisky beside a small orange and a chunk of coal.
Lately, we've began to check the NORAD website for Santa's journey and we smile at each other at the age-old
quaintness of it all.

But make no mistake, we believe he's out there... we both believe.

This here......regardless of how one believes or whom one believes in, the point to taking "God" out of schools is their way of stripping people of their faith.

'Faith' in general is very important to make a stable society.

Without faith, there usually is mayhem, being as there is nothing to believe in. Nothing to keep us in line, knowing right from wrong.
Not fearing any consequences from an unseen Deity.

And I do believe TPTB purposely have led us, as a society, down this unknown path for  deviant reasons.

People who strongly believe and/or are Patriotic in nature, are harder to control .
Yet if you take that away from them, well, the masses are easier to manipulate and control.

And it's a good opinion too.

The essence of having an ultimate judge of what is right or wrong and the rewards for choosing which,
is to make sure such a decision isn't arbitrarily arrived at with the burden of temptation.

Therefore, the 'fear' that punishment will ensue, mentally demands an individual to select an all-around
preference that -not only benefits the individual, but a society in general.

For the education-system to remove the belief of a higher consciousness, it eliminates the individual being
accountable for their actions via a sense of spirituality. It also assures a release of 'group-think' where the
onus of responsibility is diluted enough that when confused, the individual-less group will seek assistance
from a new 'higher power'... namely those who are supposed to serve a society.

That's why you've seen violence and tears in the name of politics, certain politicians are the new Gods.
But only for now.

Sorry I got your high pressure meters to overheat lol !!!!

Faith. Dunno. Perhaps a lack in morals? What is right and what is wrong?

Your opinions that there is an education problem makes sense. Fear of God? Dunno.

I would press on a profound I don't care attitude towards others.

I think our kids have become self centered (and grand-kids).

I know most of you remember the seventies, the eighties and when it started to shift, during the nineties..

The internet? Perhaps.

The video games? Perhaps.

Both parents working? Probable.

Funds missing in education? Probable.

One thing is for sure, the world has changed.

THAT, we can all agree on as we've seen the difference.

Question - Is it too late?

I mean, can this be reversed?

Personally, I don't think so.

And you?

.

P.S. Hope you all had a Wonderful Christmas !!

These are just my views and I don't wish to offend.

Right and wrong... that age-old dilemma that we invented a God for!
Yeah, that was what I was aiming at. The inner-self that determines a higher moralistic path and
not some archaic 'holier-than-thou' disciplinarian

Quote:...Your opinions that there is an education problem makes sense. Fear of God? Dunno.

I certainly don't advocate any or all religions to be bound within an education system, but neither
do I suggest atheist-like teachings. To take faith in a deity should be a personal choice and not
in our schools.

My comment of a 'fear that punishment will ensue' was a poor description, I should have said that
a lean towards a realisation of what wrong or right could lead to, should be promoted more.

Freedom in a social setting requires a form of self-discipline. Not a set of rules handed down by a
strata of authority, but from elders within a family-unit that only have the best intentions for a loved-one.

Quote:...I would press on a profound I don't care attitude towards others.
I think our kids have become self centered (and grand-kids).

Consumerism does that, but youth has always been fickle to materialism. I believe it's part of development
and adulthood -certainly parenthood, brings a governor to being more self-centred to some extent.
(I hate those damned camera-phones... they're just mirrors!)

Quote:I know most of you remember the seventies, the eighties and when it started to shift, during the nineties..

I agree. It seemed simpler when the world was smaller!

Quote:The video games? Perhaps.

I think there's merit there, regular access to violence/pornography/easily-quenched desire, can desensitise a
young mind to the negative aspects of these.

Quote:Both parents working? Probable.

Difficult call... To some parents, external factors constantly tell us wealth brings happiness and so to better the next
generation, the adults earn as much as they can. But if they are responsible parents, they can find time to prepare
their children for life.

In my own opinion from my country, we're four generations deep of a working-class environment where an average
household never had a male in full employment. This can have a drastic knock-on effect for their offspring and in
many cases does.

Quote:Funds missing in education? Probable.

Money is wasted on the trending ideas, not on education. I wasted my time at school and even without a penny to
my name, worked hard and retired early. I never had access to lesbian ballet-dancing or dealt with chronic anxiety.
I believe funding is wasted on snake-oil salesmen in our colleges and universities.
Thankfully, many of the young don't fall for it.

Quote:One thing is for sure, the world has changed.
THAT, we can all agree on as we've seen the difference.

It certainly has and I think in a manner unlike before. We can all recall our parents and grand-parents twisting their faces
at our choice in attire and music, but their real concern was that we would acquire the disciplines to work and raise a
family.

Now, technology tells the kids to f*ck robots, jerk off in front of their computers and resist the natural courtships of humans.
Universal interactions where valuable lessons are learnt in their development and again, assist in producing well-rounded
children.

Quote:Question - Is it too late?
I mean, can this be reversed?
Personally, I don't think so.
And you?

If life has taught me anything, it's that we can change anything. Humans have a great capacity to survive and thrive.
We're constantly hammered with rhetoric that indicates we should be led en-masse and not find our own ways as individuals,
this because those who seek to control are attempting to become 'The Parents' of all.

It can be reversed, hence the subconscious revolt going on right now. It can't be communicated properly, but every serious
adult knows it and it comes from within. It can happen overnight or take many years... the question is, will those who come
next be able to continue the race?

Thank you for your insightful questions, Sol and a I hope you a had a great Christmas too!

Here is a good article I just came across that addresses this topic.

Quote:Let’s face it. Almost every child has likely had some type of meltdown in public, causing great embarrassment to both the child’s parent and to other witnesses in the vicinity. But while such disrespectful behavior is embarrassing at age two, it’s downright horrifying the older a child gets.

Dr. Leonard Sax recently experienced one of these horrifying displays of disrespect in his medical practice. He describes the scenario in a recent edition of The Wall Street Journal:

Quote:“Kyle was absorbed in a videogame on his cellphone, so I asked his mom, ‘How long has Kyle had a stomach ache?’ Mom said, ‘I’m thinking it’s been about two days.’ Then Kyle replied, ‘Shut up, mom. You don’t know what you’re talking about.’ And he gave a snorty laugh, without looking up from his videogame. Kyle is 10 years old.”

Unfortunately, such behavior is no longer an anomaly, as Dr. Sax goes on to explain:

Quote:"I have been a physician for 29 years. This sort of language and behavior from a 10-year-old was very rare in the 1980s and 1990s. It would have been unusual a decade ago. It is common today. America’s children are immersed in a culture of disrespect: for parents, teachers, and one another. They learn it from television, even on the Disney Channel, where parents are portrayed as clueless, out-of-touch or absent. They learn it from celebrities or the Internet. They learn it from social media. They teach it to one another. They wear T-shirts emblazoned with slogans like ‘I’m not shy. I just don’t like you.’”

But while disrespectful children have become the norm, Dr. Sax has found that respectful, obedient children still exist out there, largely because there are still a few parents who practice authoritative parenting. And according to Dr. Sax, it’s not too late for parents to change course and start instilling respect in their children. His recommendations for doing so are summarized in the following three points:

1. Put the family before the child.
Quote:“Prioritize the family. The family meal at home is more important than piling on after-school extracurricular activities. Instead of boosting self-esteem, teach humility.”

2. Remove distractions.

Quote:“[N]o screens when you are with your child. Put your cellphone away. No electronic devices at the dinner table. Teach the art of face-to-face conversation.”

3. Draw a line in the sand, and don’t look back.

Quote:“If you’re going to make a change, don’t be subtle. New Year’s Day is as good a time as any to sit down with your children and explain that there are going to be some changes in this household: changes in how we talk, in how we behave, in how we treat one another.”

Americans have tried the kinder, gentler, let-me-be-your-friend approach to parenting for the last several decades. If the behavior problems in schools and the heightened level of sensitivity on college campuses are any indication, this parenting approach hasn’t produced the positive outcomes we were hoping for. Is it time for today’s parents to reverse course and begin teaching their children to respect others first instead of their own little selves?

Throw that Brats Cell Phone in the Trash and Slap Him So hard he thinks It Is Yesterday When he Wakes Up!
You're in a Dr, Office so if you brake a finger or two taking away that cell phone, don't worry.

One of the problems with kids today is the Fact that their teachers have told them to call (911) the Police on their parents if the hit them of threaten them.
When they started that Liberal Bullshit, It Takes A Village To Raise Your Kids, it all went to SHIT!
