minusculechairshot  What are you going to do? I see a bridge in London Built in the 1800's and ask you if that was Man-Made, you going to arrest me or say "No, it was built by 1800 Gender Neutral Males that May or May Not of had Relationships with Women or May Have Been a Male Physically but Wanted To Be A Woman! minusculepuke
Quote:The European Union has moved to suppress everyday phrases such as 'manpower' and 'mankind' and replace them with gender-neutral terms.

Staff in Strasbourg have been told to reduce references to 'women or men' in a new rule book called Gender Neutral Language In The European Parliament.

The new guidelines are aimed at EU translators tasked with converting documents between the different languages spoken and written by the 28 member states.

The online document suggests words such as 'chairman' be replaced by 'chairperson', and 'policeman' or 'policewoman' by substituted for 'police officer'.

Quote:It also recommends the word 'stewardess' by avoided in preference of 'flight attendant', and 'principal' by used instead of 'headmaster' or 'headmistress'.

'Humanity' should replace 'mankind' and 'man-made' should be substituted for 'synthentic' or 'artificial', it adds.
Makes me want to pull my hair out smalltappinghead thinking that people actually set around and Worry About This SHIT!
They also say that they've been looking into this since the 1980's.  minusculewtf REALLY!!??

Quote:'In order to treat all genders equally, efforts have been employed since the 1980s to propose a gender-neutral/gender-fair/non-sexist use of language, so that no gender is privileged, and prejudices against any gender are not perpetuated.'

'The use in many languages of the word 'man' in a wide range of idiomatic expressions which refer to both men and women, such as manpower, layman, man-made, statesmen, committee of wise men, should be discouraged.

That goes a long way in explaining why the UK wants out... there may be hope for British masculinity and femininity yet!

While I was typing that, another random thought crossed my mind - do women not understand that "gender neutrality" will not just destroy their "patriarchy", but it will destroy their femininity as well? There is no yang without yin... no yoni without lingam... "black" cannot be comprehended without "white" to compare it against... one cannot understand the dark until the light comes to contrast it, and there is no life without at least duality, and trying to "unify" everything will utterly destroy the "diversity" they carry on about.

It's basic logic, which seems to entirely escape them.

.
Diogenes was eating bread and lentils for supper. He was seen by the philosopher Aristippus, who lived comfortably by flattering the king.

Said Aristippus, ‘If you would learn to be subservient to the king you would not have to live on lentils.’ Said Diogenes, ‘Learn to live on lentils and you will not have to be subservient to the king.’

It's a divisive power-grab using words, equality was never on the cards!
Divide-and-Conquer is always a new idea to new people and kids are new.

But this isn't about all females, the average working-class woman rears children with assistance of their men
and not lives on social-media. Their confidences doesn't rely on 'likes' and agreement from strangers!

They need boyfriends... real boyfriends!

True enough - the women at work are always lamenting that fact.

I have to wonder, however, how one "divides" to conquer when all they are preaching is a boring unity and sameness! The two philosophies appear to me to be at odds one with the other. It looks to me that they want to seize power under a cover of bland darkness, and that some of the animals want to be more equal than others of the animals! As you say, it looks like a divisive power play under a cloak of alleged "unity" being preached.

That is exactly the plan that brings Socialism/Communism to power, and the course of action it has always historically taken when it has gained power - some of the animals inevitably seize more power and become more equal than the vast majority of the other animals.

And the band plays on.
