An Extra $500 A Month?
#1
California Deserves it's own Sections for Threads.
That State has to be the Craziest Place next to New York in America.
Yes, California is truly the becoming the Home of True Democratic Socialism.

Their newest experiment in buying votes and keeping the Sheeple Dependent of their Government is,,,,,,,

Quote:An Extra $500 A Month? 100 Residents To Be Selected For Basic Income Pilot Program
That's right, the residence of California who actually pays income taxes are giving away their taxes tooooooooooo, who I ask you? Really, who are these lucky winners of an extra $500. a month.
They claim struggling families, but how do they really know that family is struggling?
Think about it, if they had practiced good Family Planning, they wouldn't have those 6 kids to feed plus the 16 year old daughters baby.
Am I Ranting or am I correct?

Basic income on top of welfare, wonderful. Just like San Fran giving out free needles to addicts. They showed up from all over the country to San Fran & the dealers followed them. Shear insanity. I bet illegals are eligible.
Five hundred dollars a month, paid for by working taxpayers, to a select few who did not earn it. What could possibly go wrong?

Yea, Tax Payer, don't you think it's time to move?
Quote:STOCKTON (CBS13) — A special letter mail carriers are delivering to hundreds of homes in Stockton will hopefully bring a little financial relief in the New Year.

The money is part of the city’s basic income pilot program. Stockton is the first city in the country to launch it.

The letter 1,200 people will be receiving over the next few days does not mean people will automatically receive money but it brings them closer to potentially being selected.

Stockton dad Jose Miranda works hard to save his money, but setting aside a small portion of his paycheck every other week can be a challenge.  He says his expenses just keep piling up.

“Kids you know, my kids. I spend money on my kids the most, I think. And rent, in particular. Food and phone,” said Miranda.
Kids??? Like I stated above you may have to many kids. Why did you use a rubber or the pill?

Quote:Miranda lives in a neighborhood where the median income is at or below 46-thousand dollars.  It’s one of the areas the Stockton Economic Empowerment Demonstration program (SEED) is sending letters to people who may be eligible to get $500
a month with no strings attached.

“I think for the people that really need it, it will be good for them, like a lot of people say groceries, rent, car payment, even if you want to help a family member, anything extra is good to get,” Miranda said.

A team of independent researchers will pick 100 people to receive the money.  The purpose is to study how an extra $500 a month impacts people’s health and stress level. Researchers are also looking to see if people feel financially secure.
Did you ever think about moving to a less expensive state to line in?
What is stopping you? To many kids to pack up and move?
Jobs are plentiful now, every one is hiring.

There are many States much cheaper to live in that California.

Now think about this Team of independent researchers.  Just what are their Nationality and what neighborhoods will they be looking at?

Quote:The researchers will also have a comparison group as part of the program. It consists of 200 additional people who will get a $20 gift card for filling out surveys and provide feedback.

“People who are working incredibly hard are smart and they don’t have money because they are not good with money, they don’t have money because jobs aren’t paying enough for folks to live and survive. We believe something as small as $500 a month can make a world of difference,” he said.

People who receive a letter from SEED have until December 23rd to fill out a consent form online. The 100 people selected will be noticed by mid-January. The money will be delivered to those individuals soon after that.

Obama impressed further on the lower-classes that they need the Government aid
like they need oxygen.

Don't get me wrong, there are times when we all need a hand, but we're currently
struggling to come out of the mind-set where many of the masses believe they are
blameless for the conditions of their lifestyles.

It's easy to lose your self-accountability and look to rely on the crumbs the wealthy
toss out. $500 wouldn't pay for their daily lunches.

They will never notice the extra money because they are about to pass a tax on text messages. They'll all be paying for the text messages on their free phones.   tinyshocked

I'm a wierdo.

There was a kid at work the other day complaining that he can't make it on what he gets paid. He's working one of the higher paid jobs around here, so I asked him why he couldn't make it. He listed off his bills, which included TWO car payments and $200.00 a month just for phone, then told me that he and his significant other couldn't afford to rent a house.

Really? He don't even have bills, and his bills are too much for his pay?

Something wrong there.

I told him I only make about a dollar an hour more than he does, and I live like a king, including my rent and real bills. His jaw dropped, and he asked how do I do it - what's my secret?

I told him I live within my means, and don't have an urgent, uncontrollable want for every damned thing I see. I pay less than half of what he does for TWO phones, and those phones are paid for - no thousand dollar iphones for us... what good are they that they should cost that much? I have two cars, too - and both are paid for. No car payments at all. I pay my rent, and my bills, and still have money left over for luxuries like eating... and above that, I "lend" more money at work that I ought to so these kids can buy gas to get to work, get a soda, whatever they need.

Kids these days seem to just work to party, then wonder where in the hell their money goes.

The secret is to just live within your means, make sure your actual needs are met, and get control of your wants - and learn the difference between the two. It helps that I've learned to be happy with what I have, and don't let my wants throw me into debt. I cut all my credit cards up in 1993, and have never looked back, so I don't live off credit cards, either. That's a losing proposition from the start, as when folks get dependent on credit, the get so buried in it they can't see the sun, and have a terrible time digging out of it - if they ever do get out of it. Most caught in that trap never do.
Diogenes was eating bread and lentils for supper. He was seen by the philosopher Aristippus, who lived comfortably by flattering the king.

Said Aristippus, ‘If you would learn to be subservient to the king you would not have to live on lentils.’ Said Diogenes, ‘Learn to live on lentils and you will not have to be subservient to the king.’

Me too, if being a weirdo is staying out of the credit-card game and appreciating the life status you
live in, then I'm a full-blown member of the Weirdo Brigade!

I appreciate that I live in an environment that considers a mobile phone as a necessity... and I don't
have one. Personally, I think they are merely monitoring devices that assist business and a camera
for the insecure to preen in front of. Basically... a mirror.

Hard work, frugal compromises and trust with a partner. A recipe that my father taught me.
I'm wealthy because when all I started adult life with -was a smart woman and the willingness to put
the hours in.
I have no debt and I get my kicks from seeing people smile.

The notion that current medical assistance is the first-stop when one becomes ill is also something
I resist.
Big Pharma doesn't like me!

(The most important thing is BIAD could do with a bigger shed).

What are the Democrats in California going to offer next to keep the voters you may ask.
I found the answer to your question.
By the way, if you're living in that sick-o state and work and pay taxes, maybe this will prompted you to take action, No, Don't Move, We don't want anymore of you here.
Quote:Democrats poised to offer two years of free community college
Two years free at a Community College,,,, OK, so how many years do you normally go to a community college?
Don't you go to a Community College to learn what High School Failed To teach You?  minusculethinking
Quote:California community college students could reap the benefits of Democratic dominance in the state Legislature, with lawmakers pushing for the state to cover the cost of two years of tuition for students who commit to enrolling full time right out of high school.

Democratic lawmakers across the country have made affordability at public colleges and universities a rallying cry, with free tuition programs popping up at the state and local levels.

During the 2018 midterms, the free-college mantra of Vermont independent Sen. Bernie Sanders became a key campaign promise for liberal candidates in congressional and state races.
Gov.-elect Gavin Newsom pledged during his own campaign to make the first two years of community college free in California, as did some of his Democratic challengers.
