The guys were not the first
#1
Something i did not know was the first combat helicopter pilot in Viet Nam was a woman by the name of Valerie Andre.  In 1952-53 she flew 129 missions and rescued 165 wounded while flying a Bell-47 . She was also capable of making jumps which she did to perform surgery on two people who needed immediate care..

Did I mention she was a doctor too ? Amazing IMO... Also I would bet she was a female because this was before all the transgender guys competing in women's sports insanity of today.

Since this was before Dien Bien Phu, she must have been a French soldier.  I'll bet she had a fascinating life.
