A Massive Hole has Opened up in Antarctica That Scientists Can't Explain
#1
Quote:Thanks to its usefulness as an indicator of how badly humans are messing up the Earth with global warming, scientists like to keep a pretty close eye on the ice in Antarctica.
Now, a massive hole the size of Lake Superior has appeared many miles inland from where the ice meets the ocean, and scientists have little concrete explanation as to why it's there.
(Red highlights by me)

(Side note: Notice how they included the "global warming" in this article, sort of as a subliminal message, even though the article isn't about global warming?  See how they operate?)

The above article was published by Fox News. I just wanted to show how the MSM sneaks in things for the Elite.
You can read their article here: Fox News Link

So, this massive hole has appeared in Antarctica and scientists are dumbfounded over what's causing it.  Could it be heat from a hot springs below, or is it what some whistle-blowers have said; workers using torches to melt the ice to get to ancient artifacts left behind by an alien civilization?  Did they get too close to the surface and cause a cave in?

Here is another report from an alternative source: Source Link

Quote:Startling new evidence has emerged that a massive hole has formed in the ice of Antarctica, and scientists won't say why they think it is there. Atmospheric physicist Kent Moore, a professor at the University of Toronto admits that the mysterious hole "is quite remarkable, "and adds that "It looks like you just punched a hole in the ice." This is not the first time such a hole has formed in the ice. When such holes in areas of open water surrounded by sea ice form, they are known as polynyas.

Hmm... no mention of "global warming"?  tinywondering

Satellite image shows the hole from space:

Quote:Moore explained that they form in coastal regions of Antarctica. What is strange in this particular case, however, is that this polynia is "deep in the ice pack, "he said. Since this has never happened before, it is becoming clear that it must have formed through other processes that are not yet understood. However, scientists were reluctant to be more specific.

Reluctant to be more specific?  Wonder what they are hiding?   minusculethinking

Quote:Moore did add, "This is hundreds of kilometers from the ice edge. If we didn't have a satellite, we wouldn't know it was there." (It measured 80,000 k㎡ at its peak.)
When polynias have emerged in the past, they have been largely unreported on and unstudied. Back then, scientists' observation tools were not as sophisticated, so those holes remained largely unstudied. Then the holes went away for four decades, until last year, when one reopened for a few weeks. Now it's back again.

"This is now the second year in a row it's opened after 40 years of not being there, "Moore said. (It opened around September 9.) "We're still trying to figure out what's going on." When asked if this could be due to climate change, Moore said that's "premature."

Scientists can say with certainty, though, that the polynia will have a wider impact on the oceans. "Once the sea ice melts back, you have this huge temperature contrast between the ocean and the atmosphere, "Moore explained. "It can start driving convection."

Particularly concerning is that these holes may not fix themselves in coming winter, since denser, colder water sinks to the bottom of the ocean, while warmer water rises to the surface, "which can keep the polynia open once it starts, "he said.

Antarctica is undergoing massive changes right now, and this is certainly one of the most concerning. If this process continues, the ice will not be able to heal itself by refreezing in the winter, thus contributing to a sudden, massive increase in sea level.

Some are also concerned that the international food reserve could be at risk if this keeps up - potentially endangering humanity's last hope if something catastrophic does happen.

Well, at least they did get some fear porn in there (red highlights).  Gotta keep the public living in fear ya know!

This thread not only covers the hole in the ice, but also how different sites report the same story using different 'triggers' that embed in our thoughts, even when we don't realize it.

Yes, they are just pushing their agenda and keeping the Dumb,,,,,, DUMB!
They fail to mention the Fact,,,,, there are hydrothermal vents even in Antarctica.
They want people to believe that there is only snow and ice and very cold temperatures.

Quote:Antarctic hydrothermal vents like no other on Earth

Yes it's true.
Quote:Hydrothermal vents deep in Antarctic waters are unlike vents elsewhere. Many typical vent animals like tube worms are missing, perhaps because they can't reach the vents through the cold polar waters. Instead the vents are home to huge colonies of yeti crabs like the one above.

Researchers led by Alex Rogers of the University of Oxford sent a remotely operated vehicle to explore the East Scotia Ridge, deep beneath the Southern Ocean. There hydrothermal vents pump hot, mineral-rich water up from beneath the seabed.
Such vents are often home to communities of bizarre animals, but the ecosystem on the East Scotia Ridge was particularly weird. "Many animals such as tube worms, vent mussels, vent crabs, and vent shrimps, found in hydrothermal vents in the Pacific, Atlantic, and Indian Oceans, simply weren't there," Rogers says.
As well as the yeti crabs, the vents were rich in stalked barnacles, limpets, sea anemones and a predatory sea star with seven legs. There was also an as-yet-unidentified pale octopus.

Researchers used a Remotely Operated Vehicle (ROV) to explore the depths of the East Scotia Ridge, which is full of hydrothermal vents which can reach up to 719 degrees Fahrenheit (382 degrees Celsius). They discovered an amazing new world packed with unknown species. According to project leader Professor Alex Rogers of Oxford University's Department of Zoology, these alien-looking white creatures are thriving in the rich chemicals ejected by the vents:
Quote:Hydrothermal vents are home to animals found nowhere else on the planet that get their energy not from the Sun but from breaking down chemicals, such as hydrogen sulphide. The first survey of these particular vents, in the Southern Ocean near Antarctica, has revealed a hot, dark, ‘lost world' in which whole communities of previously unknown marine organisms thrive.

The world does what the world does, and somehow it will get twisted so we have to pay more tax.

The Whole Global Warming Thing, is Bull-Shit.
There is a problem with To Much Ice and The Ice Being To Thick and this may cause Penguins to Die!   minusculespooked
Where are the Actors and Politicians and the Sierra Club Now?
Where are the Environmentalist?
Quote:Thousands of penguin chicks starve in Antarctica
Why?
Quote:Mass starvation has wiped out thousands of penguin chicks in Antarctica, with unusually thick sea ice forcing their parents to forage further for food in what conservationists Friday called a "catastrophic breeding failure".

French scientists, supported by WWF, have been studying a colony of 18,000 pairs of Adelie penguins in East Antarctica since 2010 and discovered only two chicks survived the most recent breeding season in early 2017.

If 'the big hole' is still there in Antarctica... stuff Al Gore's fat ass into it along with Maurice Strong's.

(Three now!)
