No Borders... Here's One Of The Reasons.
#35
Some parts of the world see London as a rather pompous, prim-and-proper place with snooty-looking
gentlemen wearing bowler-hats and sporting unfurled umbrellas.

Where Big Ben chimes the hour and everyone stops for tea, the crackle of opened newspapers is heard
as the The Times is perused to see which colony is behaving below par. The toot of a passing car and the
a Cockney street urchin dodges the swiping hand of a well-dressed lady taking her children to fly a kite
in Regent's Park.

Sadly, even Dick Van Dyke's character nor Mary Poppins can't save us from what is really going on in
the capital.

Just Another Day.

Quote:Tottenham shooting: Girl, 17, dies from gunshot wound.

'Two shootings in London in the space of an hour have left a 17-year-old girl dead and a boy, 16, critically ill.
The teenage girl was found with a bullet wound in Tottenham on Monday night and pronounced dead at the scene.

The boy had been found with gunshot wounds in Walthamstow earlier, with another boy, 15 who had stab injuries.
The shootings come amid concerns over rising violent crime in the capital.
Police are not treating the shootings as linked.

A police cordon is still in place in Chalgrove Road, near Northumberland Park, where the girl was pronounced
dead at 22:43 BST. A witness said a woman, believed to be the victim's mother, began "screaming" when she
discovered the girl shortly after the shooting.

A local resident, who did not want to be named, said she heard multiple shots, which sounded like a "bomb"
exploding. She said: "It's not nice. I've lived here for 40 years, and in the last two or three years it's become
not a nice place.
"There are so many drugs, stabbings and killings."

One witness, who works in a nearby shop, said he heard three distinct bangs, which sounded like "fireworks".
He said he saw the victim with blood on her chest sitting with friends following the shooting, before police cars
and ambulances arrived.
Formal identification has yet to take place, but the girl's next of kin have been informed of her death.

In the Walthamstow shooting, police said they were called to Markhouse Road shortly after 22:00 following
reports of gunfire. The 16-year-old boy was found with bullet wounds and taken to an east London hospital,
where he remains in a critical condition.

The 15-year-old was also found at the scene with stab injuries and was also taken to hospital.
Police had initially given his age as 17.

There have been no arrests in either investigation...'
BBC:

Here's a graph that shows the reduction of 'Stop & Search' in London and with most media debates, it seems
the main problem is the lack of Police resources.

In a connected article regarding knife crime, it's said:

Quote:'...Among possible explanations for the recent increase in knife crime is a steep decline in the use by police
of stop and search...'
SOURCE:

One could argue that the culture of carrying weapons and the reasons for it may be the cause and not 'catching'
someone with a knife. Without realising, the mainstream media are suggesting that all residents of London are
potentially dangerous and an increase in Police control is the only way to stem the problem.

Could this be a way of not focusing on a certain group due to political correctness...?
Nobody in Westminster or the BBC studios seems to have the answer.
............................

But... the BBC also tends to leave out specific details that may imply a 'type' of class of people that
could be involved in these tragic events.

The Daily Star states:
'...The shooting happened at Chalgrove Road, in Tottenham, North London at 10pm on Monday.
Witnesses suggested the tragic teen was caught in crossfire between two rival gangs...'
Daily Star:

So the initial impression from the BBC was of a solitary female being shot from an unknown and yet,
it now seems that rival 'gangs' were fighting with each other -using firearms, and the seventeen
year-old was caught between them.

How does that work in a street of terraced houses (all connected)?
If we imagine what the media are trying to persuade us, it seems that these two gangs of unknowns
were shooting across the narrow street at each other and the young girl was just walking by on the
pavement.

No windows were broken and no vehicles were hit by flying bullets -which implies good accuracy in one
respect, but sadly one of the annoyed gang-members strayed from his/her goal and struck the girl with
a misplaced shot.
Maybe she didn't hear the traded gunfire...? Maybe they used the magical silencers they show on TV?

Why that street? Are these rival groups living there and this happens all the time?
Or is it far-more complex and wide-ranging and the mainstream media have been warned not to investigate
further into the matter?

When using the term 'rival gangs' -it absolves the media from using the word 'criminals' and that's because
it could possible paint an entire group of London's residents with the same brush.
And we can't have that now, can we?

Just as add-on, here's one of the folk also involved in these tragedies. It could be my poor mental-process,
but how can the BBC meet and film them and the Police fail to?

'My kids don't see this side of me'
A drug dealing father is challenged on why he chooses to carry a gun on the streets.

Gun crime was up 27% in England and Wales in the past year. In London, it has increased by 42%.
The Metropolitan Police Commissioner, Cressida Dick, says tackling violence is her "priority".
Ed Thomas reports.
