FBI Director Fired
#1
That's right everybody, get your pitchforks out! I'm posting a link to CNN !!! MUWAHHAHAHA  tinycool

YOU'RE FIRED

Quote:White House press secretary Sean Spicer said shortly before 6 p.m. ET on Tuesday that Comey was "notified a short time ago," but declined to say how Comey was notified. Comey's dismissal took effect immediately.

Spicer told reporters that Trump "accepted the recommendation of the deputy attorney general and the attorney general," who both recommended Comey's "dismissal."
"The FBI is one of our nation's most cherished and respected institutions and today will mark a new beginning for our crown jewel of law enforcement," Trump said in a statement.
The White House said it will immediately launch the search for a new FBI director.

I'm trying to post the link to the letters sent to Trump recommending he be fired. I will Keep trying.

In the mean time, what are your thoughts? Did you like him? Hate him? Like him after he bungled the Clinton stuff helping the Don win? Hate him for not "locking her up" to begin with?

Me? I think Obama should’ve canned him before he left office. I think whether or not you agree with the outcome of the investigation an FBI director has NO F’N business getting involved in a campaign like that. His “on again off again” crap made it clear (to me at least) he was more interested in pandering to others instead of being the head of a supposedly “stand up” investigative outlet.

I'm pushing my Trump "you're fired" button an extra time tonight in honor of Former Director Comey.  tinycool

ETA:

I love how Trump just had to sneak that into the termination letter  tinylaughing tinylaughing tinylaughing

Quote:While I greatly appreciate you informing me. on three separate occasions. that I am not under
investigation, I nevertheless concur with thejudgment ofthe Department ofJustice that you are
not able to effectively lead the Bureau.

It is essential that we find new leadership for the FBI that restores public trust and confidence in
its vital law enforcement mission.

wish you the best of luck in your future endeavors.

Donald J. Trump

OMG!!!   smallgreenbananadancer

I'm happy to see him go!  He covered up for Hillary and probably no telling how many others to protect them from jail.

Now that he's out, I want to see Trey Gowdy get in there and send Hillary and Obama behind bars where they belong!   hugedancingbaby

It is about Time!

Quote:Here are 10 of Comey's biggest embarrassments at the FBI:

1. Before he bombed the Boston Marathon, the FBI interviewed Tamerlan Tsarnaev but let him go. Russia sent the Obama Administration a second warning, but the FBI opted against investigating him again.

2. Shortly after the NSA scandal exploded in 2013, the FBI was exposed conducting its own data mining on innocent Americans; the agency, Bloomberg reported, retains that material for decades (even if no wrongdoing is found).

3. The FBI had possession of emails sent by Nidal Hasan saying he wanted to kill his fellow soldiers to protect the Taliban -- but didn't intervene, leading many critics to argue the tragedy that resulted in the death of 31 Americans at Fort Hood could have been prevented.

4. During the Obama Administration, the FBI claimed that two private jets were being used primarily for counterterrorism, when in fact they were mostly being used for Eric Holder and Robert Mueller's business and personal travel.

5. When the FBI demanded Apple create a "backdoor" that would allow law enforcement agencies to unlock the cell phones of various suspects, the company refused, sparking a battle between the feds and America's biggest tech company. What makes this incident indicative of Comey's questionable management of the agency is that a) The FBI jumped the gun, as they were indeed ultimately able to crack the San Bernardino terrorist's phone, and b) Almost every other major national security figure sided with Apple (from former CIA Director General Petraeus to former CIA Director James Woolsey to former director of the NSA, General Michael Hayden), warning that such a "crack" would inevitably wind up in the wrong hands.

6. In 2015, the FBI conducted a controversial raid on a Texas political meeting, finger printing, photographing, and seizing phones from attendees (some in the group believe in restoring Texas as an independent constitutional republic).

7. During its investigation into Hillary Clinton's mishandling of classified material, the FBI made an unusual deal in which Clinton aides were both given immunity and allowed to destroy their laptops.

8. The father of the radical Islamist who detonated a backpack bomb in New York City in 2016 alerted the FBI to his son's radicalization. The FBI, however, cleared Ahmad Khan Rahami after a brief interview.

9. The FBI also investigated the terrorist who killed 49 people and wounded 53 more at the Pulse Nightclub in Orlando, Fla. Despite a more than 10-month investigation of Omar Mateen -- during which Mateen admitting lying to agents -- the FBI opted against pressing further and closed its case.

10. CBS recently reported that when two terrorists sought to kill Americans attending the "Draw Muhammad" event in Garland, Texas, the FBI not only had an understanding an attack was coming, but actually had an undercover agent traveling with the Islamists, Elton Simpson and Nadir Soofi. The FBI has refused to comment on why the agent on the scene did not intervene during the attack.

So let me get this right.  Trump is under investigation by the FBI, so fires the Director and gets to appoint a new one who will hopefully continue the investigation on him.

And people are ok with that?

Got it.  This must be Amuricah.

You must forgive me 1984, I'm an old man with limited experience in 'meme' culture and
I'm not quite sure of the significance of a cartoon rendering in a subject, unless it's for levity.

Personally, I'm 'okay with it' because I know Presidents, Prime Ministers and all types of ruling
regimes come and go and I've never taken it personally anyway.

As far as the word 'Amuricah' I don't know what that means, but I can guess that it's a slur on
some regional accents of the United States and again, I can only believe it's to keep this thread's
discussion light-hearted.
....................................

I think the dismissal of James Comey is certainly controversial because at a glance, your suggestion
could be seen as the main reason. However, I also can see the damage Mr. Comey's lack of
investigative results has on the decisiveness that the FBI is supposed to enjoy.

I would hope that if there's any indication that previous FBI investigations of Russian collusion had
brought a false verdict, the next FBI Director would look into it. Maybe Trump is a Russian puppet
and only the FBI, close friends and family, several officials, the Democrats and Nancy Pelosi-style
bell-ringers know it.
I just find it odd that all of them are too scared of the man who likes to repeat himself in speechs, to
announce it to the country!

When dealing with agencies who's work is usually done in a clandestine manner, investigations into
reown figures of Government, ex-First Ladies, potential Presidents, Secretaries of State and so on,
announcing an inquiry to the media, foreign countries, allies and enemies is not really a good call.

You alert the person or group that you're wishing to scrutinize, you see?
....................................

There's been a strange 'Pick-A-Side' kind of mentality connected with the last US election that has
brought a ramped-up amount outrage, tears and a happiness that for myself, has me quite worried.

The current situation of a President of a country being accused of being a conspiracy-minded
maverick, is an insult to the Presidency, the whole network of governance, the opposing parties,
Journalism and the people of the United States.
I believe some of the factions mentioned deliberately manipulated the electorate of that country
to perceive the election in the manner of a personal 'them-and-us' mentailty.

Would Hillary Clinton have made a good President...? Quite possibly, the agendas would have been
different because of her and her party's preferred dialectic of world politics. But I would suggest that
Mrs. Clinton's administration and the other arms of Government would make sure things would run
basically as they do under the present President's reign.
....................................

Comey's removal will be spun to make out Trump took him out at the knees because of the
Russian accusation by the media for it's ratings value and if there's any merit to it, I would
advise anyone reading this that it seems being in the hotel and casino business is an obvious
choice of employment.

If Trump can out-dodge the FBI, grab the White House, make the Democrats look like a bunch
of rich, do-nothing elites, fire the head of the world-famous investigatory agency and do it all from
a golf-cart, the people of America are f*cked.

But there'll be people going to work today because of that administration and I reckon that's where
their priorities will lie. Hopefully, other benefits to the US citizens will come down the dustpipe that
aren't just account-fillers for the political entities and the last super-power can start acting like one.

The FBI didn't fail to find a political-manipulating link between Trump and Putin, the agency just failed
to deliver a decisive answer on Mrs. Clinton's dubious emailing habit and President's Trump being
a Russian puppet. The FBI became politicised and in that enviroment, that's something that makes
you look weak.

If Comey has any idea how the governmental stage-show works, he'd have known his position would
be under threat.
....................................

With that said, I will now continue to give all my personal belongings to the cult of Rogue Nation!!

'...It was just discovered today that former Director Comey mischaracterised the amount
and effect of the Hillary Clinton emails found on Huma Abedin’s husband’s laptop.

Comey claimed the FBI had discovered “hundreds of thousands” of Clinton emails on
Anthony Weiner’s laptop. They had been forwarded to him by wife Huma Abedin.

It turns out it had just been a handful of emails and they were not stored regularly as
Comey suggested.

Attorney General Jeff Sessions recommended to the President that he terminate
Comey immediately for his offence and that’s exactly what Trump did..'

Remember everyone, it wasn't long ago that the Democrats were screaming for Comey to be fired.
They got their wish and now they are crying about it.

Well, this latest decision of President Trump using advice from the well respected Attorney General
Jeff Sessions and Assistant Attorney General Rod Rosenstein, sorry, I forgot some people still watch
CNN...

Well, this latest decision of Donald Trump and his comrades to fire James Comey can be fashioned
in the interests of those who want to think it was a ploy to stop any further investigation into Trump's
connections with Russia.

Oh, I forgot again, Comey's FBI reported there was no such connection.

This judicious, adult, freedom-guaranteeing Government stuff is boring and from what I've read,
it seems you have to adhere stick to laws and things... Gaawd, I need Elizabeth Warren.

Edit: From what what I can gather from other outlets, Comey was given the boot because
he was too tall as well.

I thought he should've been fired last year when he got on TV and gave Hillary a tongue lashing. That's not his damn job and he stepped into a campaign he had no business being a part of. When I quipped last year that Obama should fire him I was thrown under the bus (not here of course). The reasoning by my friends on the right was that if "Obama fires him he is playing POLITICAL GAMES with our system, IMPEACHABLE OFFENSE, OUTRAGE!!!"

But now that Trump does it, totally fine.  tinylaughing

How often do you hear from acting heads of CIA? NSA? DHS? They stay above the fray (so to speak) and keep their heads out of politics. Comey did the opposite. So like I said, I think he should've been canned last year. So this isn't exactly a surprise to me that he's gone, just the timing.

And to picture Trump sitting in front of a TV at the White house YELLING at cable news (and then firing the FBI director), it's actually pretty damn comical. Commander Thin Skin just can't take the heat.

Quote:"He had grown enraged by the Russia investigation, two advisers said, frustrated by his inability to control the mushrooming narrative around Russia. He repeatedly asked aides why the Russia investigation wouldn't disappear and demanded they speak out for him. He would sometimes scream at television clips about the probe, one adviser said."

Linky

The only thing that bothers me is that when it's "your guy" doing stuff like this it's totally cool. When Obama would go on TV and say the sky was blue he was "pissing on the constitution and tearing our country to shreds".

If Obama had fired Comey last year there would've been pitchforks and torches on the right (and I would imagine here as well) but because Commander Thin Skin does it, it's the right move. No matter what.

Kim Jong Trump can do no wrong.

Right After Trump Fired Comey, Trey Gowdy Got The Best News Imaginable

I think this is only wishful thinking from the person who posted that message on Twitter, and the other articles he shows look like click bait pages, but I DO hope Trump will consider Gowdy for Comey's replacement.  However, he's doing a great job in Congress too, exposing the lies.   minusculethumbsup2

It's being talked about...

Breaking: Internet Explodes as Trey Gowdy Pushed to Replace Comey.

'President Donald Trump shocked the nation Tuesday by firing FBI Director James Comey,
largely due to his unprofessional handling of the Hillary Clinton email investigation as well
as some of his public statements in congressional hearings on that and other matters.

According to Independent Journal Review, many people on the right let out a cheer, as they
have been waiting for Comey to be fired since he let Clinton off the hook in the summer of 2016.

Meanwhile, Democrats who up until Tuesday were vehemently calling for Comey’s ouster due
to his alleged sabotage of Clinton’s campaign just before November’s election, were suddenly
backing Comey to the hilt, newly outraged that such a shining example of an impartial lawman
could be fired so ingloriously.

However, among the celebrations and grievous outcries percolating on the Internet, one name
consistently drew mention as the top potential replacement as head of the FBI, that being
Republican South Carolina Rep. Trey Gowdy, a veritable rock-star in conservative circles.

To be fair, The Associated Press listed Gowdy as one of four top potential replacements for
Comey, the other three being NYPD Commissioner Ray Kelly, Republican New Jersey Gov.
Chris Christie and Milwaukee County Sheriff David Clarke...'

In hindsight, Comey should've been fired because the agency that he headed has deliberately
ignored the evidence and guaranteed proof that Democrats like Nancy Pelosi and Maxine Walters
have.

Their daily appearances on television demanding an investigation of the alleged collusion
with Russia and Trump is an obvious indication that at least, these two ladies KNOW about
how America is ruled by the poe-face Communist leader, Mr. Putin.

It's laughable how the FBI agency that is supposedly held in such high regard around the world
failed to achieve the investigative prowess that these two fine fair-minded ladies enjoy.

How can it be that Comrade... sorry, President Trump hasn't been arrested yet...? Walters and Pelosi
must have the proof because no sane person in such a high position would accuse anyone without
bonded, certain evidence of a crime.

I've always resisted the urge to watch TV game-shows and televised morning coffee-chats with past
celebrities who discuss politics with a banal, self-indulgent biased, but this now seems to be the norm.

I can't wait for Maxine and Nancy to show their data to the world and maturity can rule once again.

Democrats: WH contact with FBI an 'outrageous breach of the FBI's independence'

'The man who has replaced fired FBI Director James Comey has been heralded by the bureau's
leaders for his long career investigating organized crime and domestic terrorism.

But the fallout from the investigation of Hillary Clinton's use of a private email server while she was
secretary of state may still damage the credibility of Andrew McCabe, the acting director, who will
serve until a successor is appointed and confirmed by the Senate.

Earlier this year, the Justice Department's inspector general announced a probe of the FBI's handling
of the Clinton email investigation. Among the points of inquiry was whether McCabe should have
recused himself from the case because of his family's political ties.

Before McCabe was promoted to deputy FBI director, his wife, Jill, took money from Clinton ally and
Virginia Gov. Terry McAuliffe's political action committee while running for state Senate.
The Washington Post reported that McCabe alerted a department ethics official at the time of the donation.

McCabe has occasionally found himself in the center of criticism from across the political spectrum.

Earlier this year, McCabe told President Donald Trump's chief of staff, Reince Priebus, that a New York
Times report about the FBI's examination of the campaign's ties to Russia was inaccurate.
That prompted Priebus to ask the FBI to rebut the story publicly, but the FBI declined.

Some Democrats criticized the White House for attempting to pressure the FBI to speak out during
an ongoing investigation.

It's unclear whether the inspector general's probe will conclude during McCabe's tenure as acting director.
Fox News' Sean Hannity, who has advised Trump throughout his campaign and presidency, said on
Tuesday that the new FBI head would be appointed within days...'

Quote:Many are unaware that Comey’s served on the board of banking giant HSBC (‘international drug money clearing house’) before parachuting softly into the head of the FBI in 2013. That’s only the beginning…

It appears that James Comey (who is actually a lawyer by trade) also has long history of cases ending favorable to Clintons, including the case of Sandy Berger, a former Clinton Administration aid. During the Berger probe, Comey said publicly that ‘we take issues of classified information very seriously’, all the while seeming to undermine the scope of the investigation – presumably to protect the Clintons:

“In 2004, Comey, then serving as a deputy attorney general in the Justice Department, apparently limited the scope of the criminal investigation of Sandy Berger, which left out former Clinton administration officials who may have coordinated with Berger in his removal and destruction of classified records from the National Archives. The documents were relevant to accusations that the Clinton administration was negligent in the build-up to the 9/11 terrorist attack.”

“Curiously, Berger, Lynch and Cheryl Mills all worked as partners in the Washington law firm Hogan & Hartson, which prepared tax returns for the Clintons and did patent work for a software firm that played a role in the private email server Hillary Clinton used when she was secretary of state.”

“Hogan & Hartson in Virginia filed a patent trademark request on May 19, 2004, for Denver-based MX Logic Inc., the computer software firm that developed the email encryption system used to manage Clinton’s private email server beginning in July 2013. A tech expert has observed that employees of MX Logic could have had access to all the emails that went through her account.

In 1999, President Bill Clinton nominated [Loretta] Lynch for the first of her two terms as U.S. attorney for the Eastern District of New York, a position she held until she joined Hogan & Hartson in March 2002 to become a partner in the firm’s Litigation Practice Group.” (Source WND)

I dunno about "people", but I'm fine with it. Couldn't happen to a more deserving guy.

The FBI became politicized under Comey, and no law enforcement agency should be politicized. It's not a political job, it's a job determining lawful and unlawful, and who gets prosecuted. Politicization leads to political favoritism. Mussolini, Hitler, Pol Pot, Josef Stalin, Fidel Castro, and a host of others have always had political law enforcement, and that has not turned out so well for the people in their countries.

My gripes with Comey started with his attacks on encryption, but didn't end there. Now the FBI talks out of both sides of it's mouth regarding encryption and the first through fifth amendments, while at the same time trying to destroy them. How can one both support and attempt to destroy something? Comey had a hard-on for people's privacy long before the Apple iphone debacle. Encryption is the only way in this day and age to keep your privacy private, and Comey assaulted that ability.

In a similar way in the matter of the Hillary investigation, he said, right out in front of God and everybody, that Hillary was guilty AND that the FBI declined to prosecute. That's not law enforcement, that is favoritism. That's a Very Bad Thing in the American political system. Sure, you may be happy with the results of a politicized investigation when YOUR boys are in control, but what about when the same thing happens when your political opponents are in control? Not so nice then, is it? LAw enforcement functionality supporting political opponents quickly turns "opponents" into "enemies". That's why politics absolutely HAS to be kept out of law enforcement functions. One cannot expect impartial law enforcement in favoritist environments, which is the sort of environment Comey was fostering.

So, yeah, I'm good with it. Should have been done long ago.
