US 'Gay Rights' push does more harm than good!
#1
Well, this is just so shocking, I can't fathom how it could happen. Can anyone else? I mean really? Were they supposed to shake in their boots at the mighty words of the American President, redefine how they see values for their own society and step to fetch new laws on demand???

Why for so...didn't they step and fetch for Obama and his gay agenda?? In fact..All Obama has actually done is make life far MORE a living hell on Earth than it had previously been for gays in many African nations.

(Dec. 2015)
Quote:LAGOS, Nigeria — Suspicious neighbors and landlords pry into their private lives. Blackmailers hunt for victims on the social media sites they use to meet others of the same sex. Police officers routinely stop them to search for incriminating images and chats on their cellphones.

Since an anti-gay law went into effect last year, many gay Nigerians say they have been subjected to new levels of harassment, even violence.

They hadn't even had a formal law on the books (unlike many African nations before them) until U.S. pressure forced the issue, and instead of caving in fear, Nigeria doubled down on THEIR idea of right/wrong and family values. Oh, and ...however much it shocks some lefties? Other nations actually DO have differing feelings on the matter.

Quote:“The U.S. support is making matters worse,” said Mike, 24, a university student studying biology in Minna, a town in central Nigeria who asked that his full name not be used for his safety. “There’s more resistance now. It’s triggered people’s defense mechanism.”

It has here too, sadly, and the backlash building against the gay "movement" AS a "movement" is likely going to be a horrible thing to witness in the United States. It is never, it seems, enough to simply exist. They must be welcomed, embraced and accepted as if Society owes them a hug. Well....In MANY nations in the world, a HUG is the LAST thing a gay person of any type can expect to see come.

Quote:Four years ago, the American government embarked on an ambitious campaign to expand civil rights for gay people overseas by marshaling its diplomats, directing its foreign aid and deploying President Obama to speak before hostile audiences.

Four years... and pushing a billion US dollars later....

Quote:In Nigeria, Africa’s most populous nation, the final passage of the 2014 law against homosexuality — which makes same-sex relationships punishable by 14 years in prison and makes it a crime to organize or participate in any type of gay meeting — is widely regarded by both supporters and opponents of gay rights as a reaction to American pressure on Nigeria and other African nations to embrace gay rights.

Well, hot damn and lets hear it for progress (sarcasm)! Indeed..America CAN FORCE its values upon others and just tell them to DO something and deal with it .....and the other nations can tell us where to shove it, before telling us we can screw ourselves with our own forcible attempts.

*** Thankfully, the ignorance of this President only has about another year to run. I'd fear for the world coming to outright ATTACK US if it wasn't time limited this way. After all...how long would we tolerate these pressures and demands from outside nations, ourselves, and regardless of the specific cause or topic? Not long, I'd wager. So...why should we have expected others to step and fetch for us again?
