relax - why would you have to live in an icy cold environment in a magnetic pole reversal?

We live in one of the world's biggest energy wells - there would be energy to burn here through the winter, which is the only "cold" time here, and of course summer would be just as warm as ever it was. A long streak of days in the 90's last year. Invest in a wood stove in case the power grid goes down. Your granny survived winters here, and you can too.
