'Sixteen foreign nationals are among the dead after an attacker opens fire on

Another 69 people were wounded in the armed rampage, which Istanbul's governor
described as a "terrorist attack". At least 16 foreign nationals were among the dead
at the club which was popular with tourists, the Turkish interior ministry said.

The gunman killed a policeman and civilian outside the Reina nightclub before
opening fire at random inside the building, packed with 600 people celebrating the
New Year.

The gunman, reportedly wearing a Father Christmas outfit, remains at large.
"The search for the terrorist continues... I hope (the assailant) will be captured quickly,
God willing," said interior minister Suleyman Soylu.

He added: "This was a massacre, a truly inhuman savagery."

One reveller told how she had to lift dead bodies off her to escape the building after
the attack at 1.45am local time on Sunday...'

Perhaps he meant 'The search for the Islamist Terrorist continues...' ?

Why are the medias at large so frickin' afraid to call a spade a spade?

Anyone being such a coward as to go into a bar, while people are having fun and celebrating, to shoot anyone and everyone while they are defenseless, should not get to have a privilege of anonymity.

Islamist Terrorist.

Coward.

Oh they will when the deaths involve those who are from the countries that
actually perform this atrocities!

Here's an example and a recant of the 'Santa' suit.

'...Police in Istanbul are hunting for a gunman who opened fire at a nightclub,
killing at least 39 people.

The attack happened at Reina nightclub early on Sunday, as hundreds of revellers
marked the new year.

Officials say at least 15 foreigners were killed, including an Israeli woman. Citizens
from Morocco, Lebanon, Saudi Arabia and Libya were hurt.

The attacker left his gun at the scene before fleeing, the Turkish Prime Minister Binali
Yildirim said.

He also confirmed the gunman was not dressed as Santa Claus, contradicting earlier
reports...'

CCTV emerges of the killer opening fire outside the club before storming
the venue where hundreds were celebrating New Year.

'Islamic State has claimed responsibility for the New Year nightclub massacre
in Istanbul as the hunt continues for the gunman.

In a statement, the militant group hailed the "heroic soldier of the caliphate"
who carried out the attack at the popular Reina club, which left 39 dead and
69 wounded, four critically.

Police are said to be investigating whether the killer belonged to the same
terror cell that carried out a deadly suicide bomb and gun attack at Istanbul's
Ataturk airport last June.

There are also reports Turkey received an intelligence tip-off from the US about
the threat of a New Year attack although it did not give details of where it could
take place.

Ankara authorities have said nearly 150 people have been detained in the past
week over suspected links to IS...'

I almost choked on my coffee...

Heroism synonyms are bravery, courage and valor, none of which apply to a coward that attacks a defenseless crowd, be it with guns, trucks or yes, hijacked airplanes.

Nor does it apply to strapping bomb vests on kids and detonating them from a distance.

A religion or ideology has to be disturbingly warped to think that this is heroism.

It's mental illness in a scale that hasn't been heard of since this world exists.
