[England] The Liverpool Explosion.
#1
I gave it a day to allow the correct information to shake out before posting, but it's still early-days. The media are trying
to steer the narrative again and certain facts are missed in many of the other articles I've read.

Remembrance Day in the UK. Sunday 14th November 2021
News articles appeared on the same day that the British law enforcement confirmed they will be having armed Police patrolling
Christmas markets, then this incident occurs.

Free movement, no borders and unicorn shit everywhere.

Quote:Liverpool Women’s Hospital explosion: Terrorist had homemade bomb and asked taxi to take him hospital

'A terrorist ordered a taxi to a hospital carrying a homemade bomb before it suddenly exploded killing him and injuring the cabbie,
police said today. Armed police swooped on Liverpool Women's Hospital just before 11am yesterday after the blast in a car park.

Police confirmed today the horror is being treated as a terror incident.
Three suspects - aged 29, 26 & 21 - were arrested yesterday under the Terrorism Act.

It was confirmed a fourth man, 20, was held today by officers with all four suspects to be quizzed by counter-terrorism officers this
afternoon. Assistant Chief Constable Russ Jackson, Counter Terrorism North West, said the bomber was picked up in Rutland
Avenue just before 11am.

The explosion.                                                                The Rats Nest.                                                                  The Hero, Dave Perry.

He then asked to be taken to Liverpool Women's Hospital, which is around ten minutes away.
As the taxi approached the hospital, the explosion tore through the car and engulfed it in a fireball - killing him and injuring cabbie
Dave Perry. Police believe they know his identify but no details have been released.
He was not on any MI5 watchlist and is believed to be from the Middle East, The Telegraph reports.

ACC Jackson told a press conference he has spoken with Dave, who described the drive to hospital as "unremarkable".
Officers are still trying to establish a motive for the terror blast and said the investigation is "continuing at pace".
ACC Jackson said they “cannot at this time draw any connection” with Remembrance Sunday events nearby but confirmed
it is a line of inquiry.

The officer added: "Remarkably, the taxi driver, escaped from the cab. He has been treated for the injuries he sustained and has
now been released from hospital. "Emergency services quickly attended the scene and Merseyside Fire and Rescue put out the
fire following which it quickly became apparent that the passenger remained in the vehicle and was deceased.
"It is not clear what the motivation for this incident is.

"Our enquiries indicate that an improvised explosive device has been manufactured and our assumption so far is that this was built
by the passenger in the taxi. "The reason why he then took it to the Women's Hospital is unknown, as is the reason for its sudden
explosion.

"Although, the motivation for this incident is yet to be understood, given all the circumstances, it has been declared a terrorist incident
and Counter Terrorism Policing are continuing with the investigation."

The officer confirmed two addresses in the city have been searched as a result of the investigation.
Three of the suspects were arrested yesterday at Sutcliffe Street in the Kensington area of Liverpool, while today's arrest was made
in the same area. Cops have found "significant items" at a home searched in Rutland Avenue with eight families living nearby evacuated.

ACC Jackson said he believes the arrested men are "associates" of the taxi passenger.
They are now looking at telephone records and purchases made by the terrorist, who has been linked to both addresses being searched.

Sharon Cullen was evacuated with her family last night as armed cops swooped on her street.
She said: "The police pounded on my door and an officer said 'we need to get you out of the house as soon as possible'.
"They said 'whatever is going on at the back of the house, it could blow the block'. "It was really frightening."

Merseyside Chief Constable Serena Kennedy said there is no "specific threat" to the area but patrols will be ramped up.
She also urged people to "remain calm" but "vigilant and alert".

BOMB BLAST
Dramatic pictures showed the car on fire just inches from the main entrance to the hospital, where 30 babies are born each day.
Shocking footage also revealed the moment the taxi exploded in a fireball just seconds after pulling up outside the hospital.
Hero cabbie Dave was injured after he leapt from the burning taxi and locked the suspect in the back.

His brave actions meant the male passenger carrying the bomb was the only person killed.
The suspected terrorist had asked Dave to drive him to the cathedral where 1,200 people had gathered for services to remember
fallen soldiers. But he changed his mind and instead wanted to be taken to the hospital, it is reported.
Dad-of-two Dave has been released from hospital and is now recovering at home.
Boris Johnson today praised the cabbie, saying he acted with “incredible presence of mind and bravery”.

TERROR PROBE
Staff were forced to evacuate some patients after the blast and transfer them to other hospitals as the Army bomb squad sealed off
the area. Home Secretary Priti Patel said she is "being kept regularly updated" on the terror probe.

Liverpool Women’s Hospital announced visiting access is restricted "until further notice" and patients will be sent to other medical
facilities "where possible". A spokesperson said staff will be reviewing "patient activity for the next 24 to 48 hours" and assured
support is available for anyone impacted by the incident.

Liverpool Women’s Hospital featured on hit Channel 4 series One Born Every Minute and sees 500,000 patients a year.
The hospital — where Coleen Rooney gave birth to her four sons — has around 1,350 staff who work there.
Anyone with information can call police on 0161 856 1027 quoting Liverpool Womens Hospital incident.

"Believed to be from the Middle East"

Yeah, building the bomb in a vehicle that was underway is not the something the IRA would do.

I am glad no one was killed but the bomber. Hopefully the cab driver recovers quickly.

Looks like kind of a lame bomb. Not trying to be callus but if he wanted to kill people in the church or the hospital but it didn't even kill the guy sitting feet away in the front seat?
#5
Quite scary.  I'm interested to find out why, motivation and the fact he was even in England.

Very lucky man that cabbie.

Hope nothing happens to him or his family in the aftermath.

Kind regards and thoughts to England,

Depends on how the shock wave propagated and the direction[s], velocity, and mass of any shrapnel caused by the explosion.

From the original report -that the media are attempting to alter, the taxi driver realised something was not right
and made for the hospital instead of the church, locked the doors of the taxi and fled. The detonating mechanism
of the device ignited, but failed to explode in the correct manner.

The original reason was Dave Perry believed that the closer to a medical facility he was, the better chance of saving
his own life.

I've even seen a report on the BBC news-outlet this Tuesday morning (UK), where the main pushed-sentence is to
explain the four men who were earlier arrested were released. Forget the incident, it's that they were released!

Emad Al Swealmeen was the man who'd made the bomb and then exploded it, but the need to tell the public he
was a converted Christian is also paramount. The guy -previously a Muslim, not a Jew, not a Buddhist or Hindu
not a Mormon, not a Sikh, but a Muslim who made a bomb, exploded a device on Remembrance Sunday outside
a hospital for pregnant women.

By the way, you will see how the article drops the first-part of the suspect's name to make him sound more 'western'.

sectioned under the Mental Health Act for about six months because of his behaviour with a knife...'

I didn't realise how violent Christians could be!

Quote:'...Another address in Sutcliffe Street in the city, where officers believe Al Swealmeen previously lived, is also part
of the investigation. The UK terror threat level was raised from "substantial" to "severe" on Monday, meaning an
attack is "highly likely", because the explosion in Liverpool was the second incident in a month, following the
death of Conservative MP Sir David Amess.

Deputy Assistant Commissioner Matt Twist, one of Counter Terrorism Policing's senior national co-ordinators,
said the change was a "precautionary measure and not based on any specific threat"...'
BBC:

For a supposedly failed asylum-seeker from 'the Middle-East', he was still in the country, not on any MI5 list, had messed
around with a knife had been sectioned under the Mental Health Act, had access to funds and privacy to build a bomb,
moved to several locations and was either going to to a Anglican Cathedral on a day to commemorate those take part in
conflicts or a hospital for women and failed to kill anyone but himself.

I believe it's time we got out of this mind-set that equates where you're from to the need to build a bomb.
You can paint butterflies and rainbows and sing in a Christian choir all day long, but it's what's going on in your head that counts.

Quote:Liverpool terrorist Emad Al Swealmeen built bomb packed with ball bearings after asylum claims repeatedly turned down

'Poppy Day bomber Emad Jamil Al-Swealmeen struck after his asylum bids were repeatedly turned down, it emerged last night.
The Jordanian, 32, also had mental health problems and was once arrested with a knife.

He blew himself up in a taxi at the Liverpool Women’s Hospital. Cabbie David Perry, 43, survived by a “miracle”.
Emad Jamil Al-Swealmeen, who had no known connections with any terrorist groups, blew himself to bits with a home-made
ball-bearing device. He had taken a taxi from his bomb lair home to the local Liverpool Women’s Hospital.

CCTV footage captured the moment the device was detonated seconds after cabbie David Perry pulled up in front of the main
entrance at 10.59 am. Because of Al-Swealmeen’s severe injuries, it took police several hours to establish a potential identity
-and he has yet to be formally identified.

It remained unclear when exactly the bomber entered the UK but it was understood he had been in a long-term dispute with the
Home Office over his application for UK residential status. And he had not been granted leave to remain here permanently.
A source said: “One of the issues being looked at is whether this unresolved grievance pushed him over the edge and prompted
him to carry out the attack.”

Following his arrival in the UK, Al-Swealmeen lived mostly in Liverpool, where he was supported by Christian volunteers from
a network of churches helping asylum seekers. According to friends, he earlier spent a large part of his life in Iraq, where his
mother came from.

Sleeper?

It was claimed that Al-Swealmeen had told friends he came from Syria — but The Sun understands he was a Jordanian national.
It was also claimed that motor-racing enthusiast Al-Swealmeen had changed his first name to Enzo in honour of Ferrari founder
Enzo Ferrari -and to sound less Muslim in a bid to help his asylum application.
He was also said to have converted to Christianity at Liverpool’s Anglican Cathedral in 2017.

Al-Swealmeen spent eight months living with devoted Christians Malcolm and Elizabeth Hitchott at their home in the Aigburth
district of Liverpool. Former solider Mr Hitchott said: “He first came to the cathedral in August 2015 and wanted to convert to
Christianity.

“He took an Alpha Course, which explains the Christian faith, and completed it in November of that year.
“That enabled him to come to an informed decision and he changed from Islam to Christianity and was confirmed as a Christian
just before he came to live with us.

“He was destitute at that time and we took him in. The UK asylum people were never convinced he was Syrian and he was refused
asylum in 2014. “He had his case rejected because he has been sectioned due to some mental health incident where he was waving
a knife at people from an overpass.”

Mr Hitchott explained: “He was going to put in a fresh asylum claim. Once he had done that, it was possible for him to be housed
again by the Home Office and get £35 [$47.08] a week. “He didn’t want to stay here any more. So he could get the accommodation,
I gave him notice to leave. He never talked about Islam, terrorism, nothing.”

Mrs Hitchott said: “I bumped into him in a street, he was doing cake decoration at an educational class, a formal course somewhere,
he was very enthusiastic. He showed me the designs he had done and what he was hoping to do in an upcoming exam.
He was quite artistic. “I gave him a sketchbook and pencils. He drew hills, flowers, everything around him.”
The couple said he loved motor racing and would often do go-karting at Brunswick in Liverpool.

The bomb factory where Al-Swealmeen constructed his deadly ball bearing device was yesterday revealed as a bedsit.
Police carried out a controlled explosion at the studio room in a Victorian property in Rutland Avenue in the city’s upmarket Sefton Park
district. Smoke billowed from the house following the 4pm blast, with families having already been evacuated.

What we know so far...

*Police named the man killed in the taxi bomb as 32-year-old Emad Al-Swealmeen
*He also went by the name Enzo Almeni
*The terrorist was killed and taxi driver injured in a car bomb blast at Liverpool Women's Hospital on Sunday
*Hero cabbie Dave Perry locked the passenger in the taxi to prevent further disaster
*The horror is being treated as a terrorist incident but the motive is unclear
*Four people have been arrested on suspicion of terror offences
*The bomb was homemade and manufactured 'by the passenger in the taxi'
*Boris Johnson will chair an emergency Cobra meeting today as the terror threat is raised to the second highest level of 'severe'

Neighbour Golam Shawom, 31, said: “I saw him a couple of times coming from the house. The last was two or three months ago.

“I think he worked as a delivery driver. I never spoke to him. I just saw him on his bike. “It seemed like a quiet house. There are
many families living here and old people but I never saw anyone at his house.”

Officers said Al-Swealmeen, who was not known to MI5, primed the bomb in the cab on the way to the hospital -though it was suspected
that the home-made device did not explode with full intended force. Security chiefs believe at this stage that he was a “lone actor” and
have found no firm evidence of any connections to any terrorist groups.

Three men -aged 21, 26 and 29 -were arrested by armed cops on Sunday afternoon at a house in Sutcliffe Street in Liverpool’s Kensington
district where Al-Swealmeen had previously lived for some time, two miles away from the bomb factory.

Neighbour Matthew Heitman, 26, said cops screamed “armed police” as they arrested the trio.
The lighting technician saw officers holding automatic weapons and riot shields swarm the property. A fourth man, aged 20, was arrested
in the street at 9.15 yesterday morning. They were released last night. Assistant Chief Constable Russ Jackson, said: “Following interviews
we are satisfied with the accounts they have provided. The investigation continues to move at a fast pace.”

Detective Chief Inspector Andrew Meeks, of the UK’s Counter Terrorism Police North West Unit, said earlier: “Now that we have released
his name, any information that the public may have about Al-Swealmeen, no matter how small, may be of great assistance to us.’’
Last night Home Secretary Priti Patel called off a scheduled trip to Paris to meet her French counterpart due to the Liverpool terror incident.
The two ministers were instead expected to discuss migrant crossings at a virtual meeting...'
Archived Sun Article:

Edit: It's been two days and the MSM are still ignoring the fact that this guy booked the taxi to go to the Anglican Cathedral
and NOT the hospital. It was the taxi driver who drove the vehicle to the hospital because of medical access in any aftermath.
The driver had his eardrum burst due to the crappy explosion that the BBC states is "triacetone triperoxide".

That puts a twist on the situation.

From what I understand, apostasy is a huge no-no in Islam.  So then his application was turned down.  I wonder if he thought he'd rather go out as a suicide bomber ... to appease Allah? ... to restore his image in the eyes of the Muslim community ... as an act of revenge against a community that had (legally) rejected him after he had cut his ties with his community of origin?

Cheers

It would make sense, the Liverpool Cathedral was only 50 metres away from where the bomb exploded and to this guy,
it would seem a good target to save his image.

I would guess that if he was trying to prepare a bomb en route, he would have been doing so at the far end of the back seat from the driver to attempt to keep it hidden from view, so the brunt of the blast probably went into the bomb maker, the passenger side rear door, and the back of the passenger side front seat, somewhat shielding the driver. Probably didn't do much good for his ear drums, though!

That is a possibility, and yes, apostasy is a big bad no-no in Islam. You are given 3 days to rethink that decision, and if, at the end of the 3 days, you have not recanted back to Islam, you are fair game for any Muslim moving. I had a fatwa on me when I left Islam. Grace was spared that, because no one here knows she was ever Muslim, and no one from where she was from knew she had converted.

Another possibility is the concept of taqqiya - that he was lying about his conversion and merely living as a Christian, playing the part, in an attempt to set those around him at ease so that they would not suspect what he was up to.

It went off at 10.59.am and the Remembrance Service at Liverpool Cathedral was to stand in silence at 11.00.am.
So the driver's delaying tactics -combined with a possible set-fuse, made it explode when it did in the driveway of
the hospital.

Not to mention the driver locking the bomber into the car to prevent escape! I'm surprised, really, that they have not taken the driver up on manslaughter charges for intentionally killing one of their pet terrorists!

A steered narrative is a kind way of putting it.

Maybe it's just me but it gets insulting after a while the way the "news" spins the stories.

Hey BBC, I got it. I do not blame every Muslim I see for this. Just the guy who did it. The mysterious funds and expertise do raise an eyebrow. IMHO, it is worthy of some investigation so maybe - just maybe - if he has a buddy who is planning on doing something similar we can save some lives maybe. That does not make me an Islamophobe. It makes me concerned for people's safety. If the guy was from Greenland and had a bunch of Greenlander buddies with funds from thin air, I would recommend checking them for further information. And if you called him a Greenlander in the news I would not be offended even if I was from Greenland.

Precisely. It does not make us Islamophobes, it makes us bombophobes. We don't like bombs. All that concrete, wood, and body parts flying everywhere. It's untidy. We don't care what the culture of the bomber is - we just don't like bombs.

I'm not an Islamophobe, despite having a couple of them trying to kill me for a while. I figured that was their personal problem, not a problem of the entire culture. I would never have married Grace had I been an Islamophobe. She didn't have that pesky "Imo kill you" personal problem that some had. I've had a couple of hillbillies try to kill me for a while, too. Doesn't mean I turned my back on the entire Appalachian culture over it. If I did, I wouldn't be here now. They just had a personal problem that we worked out. Never mind how - their personal problem got solved, and that is all that really matters. I'm a people person, and sometimes that involves helping folks to solve their problems.

I'm sure there are some Muslims who would (wrongfully) blame me for Grace's conversion, and try to kill me over that, too... but that is also their personal problem. I don't throw rocks at all cows just because a couple of bulls charged me.

BUT - If I ever say to anyone "that sounds like a personal problem to me", they'd best back slowly away, 'cause I'm done talking at that point. We are then ready to get into problem-solving territory.

Said Aristippus, ‘If you would learn to be subservient to the king you would not have to live on lentils.’ Said Diogenes, ‘Learn to live on lentils and you will not have to be subservient to the king.’

Depends on how the shock wave propagated and the direction[s], velocity, and mass of any shrapnel caused by the explosion.

Cheers

I guess it failed to detonate properly now? That's what the news says.

Yeah, looks like the detonator or "cap" went off, but not the main charge, which apparently misfired. mad bombers ain't what they used to be.

Cheers

That is a possibility, and yes, apostasy is a big bad no-no in Islam. You are given 3 days to rethink that decision, and if, at the end of the 3 days, you have not recanted back to Islam, you are fair game for any Muslim moving. I had a fatwa on me when I left Islam. Grace was spared that, because no one here knows she was ever Muslim, and no one from where she was from knew she had converted.

Another possibility is the concept of taqqiya - that he was lying about his conversion and merely living as a Christian, playing the part, in an attempt to set those around him at ease so that they would not suspect what he was up to.

.
Your last paragraph here that I've highlighted outlines my thoughts on the subject.  Are there others in the community using this tactic.  Perhaps those in the Christian faith might be mindful of who they sponsor and convert to their beliefs.

Edit - Dammit, the paragraph won't highlight.  :)

(mod note: You've got to highlight quoted text with color as I did here - for some reason I've never been able to figure out, bold just doesn't bold like it ought to in quotes. - Ninurta)

It's my understanding that taqqiyah was started so that Muslims of one variety could "pass" as Muslims of another variety so that they wouldn't be killed by those other Muslims, but it was also allowed so as to infiltrate kafr (any non-muslim) communities. Under such circumstances, they are even allowed to eat pork if they have to in order to pass, although if they can find a plausible excuse not to, they won't.

Since taqqiyah was started to pass as the other in other Muslim communities, it was a natural extension of it to allow it so they could pass in non-muslim communities as well. Once the reach a critical mass (around 10%) in other communities, they stop trying to pass and start trying to dictate, and the most "fundamental" among them are the most vociferous and violent, and it is they who generally direct community actions as the majority just seek to get along with them so as not to be killed themselves.
