Great APP if you like messing with pictures
#1
One of my co-workers got me hooked on something, to which it has spread to their sister apps on my phone.

It started out with just downloading the app for FREE PRINTS. If you don't know what that is, after you download the app, you can pick off your phone, pictures that you want to be made into prints.

Quote:WHAT DO I GET FOR FREE?
  • Up to 85 free 4x6 prints per month
  • Limit 1 free print per photo
  • Up to 1,000 4x6 free prints per year

WHAT DO I PAY FOR?
  • Additional 4x6 prints
  • Other sizes — 5x5, 5x7, 8x10,
    11x14, 12x18, 16x20, 20x30

  • FreePrints Shipping & handling — starts at $1.99, never more than $9.99, no matter how many prints you order'

So yeah, for just $1.99 S&H, I thought why not.
The only thing for me, I had to use a magnifying glass so I could  'see'  the pictures.  minusculerolleyes

I picked out my freebies, sent in my order expecting some kind of catch.
NOPE. No catch.
It was only the $1.99 SH fee as stated.

It did not take long, and I got my free prints. And let me tell you, they look just as good as when we used to take them to get the film developed. So yup, I ordered more.

Well next think you know, I receive an email for the link to their sister app PHOTOBOOKS

And what that is, you pick out pictures off your phone (many options for viewing/uploading images) that you would like in a photobook.

Quote:Here’s how it works

  • Get one free 5x7 standard softcover photo book every month.

  • Optional premium hardcover in 6x8 and 8.5x11.5 books are also available.

  • Start out with 20 pages. Add more pages for a small
    additional charge.

  • Pay only a small shipping charge - always the same,
no matter how many books you order.

  • There are no subscriptions or commitments.
Create a photo book whenever you like.

  • We guarantee 100% satisfaction or your money back!

Okay, this definitely had me intrigued.   :smallwink:
So I had to see what exactly it was.

Therefore I used our dog Buddy as the guinea pig.

Sure enough, it lets you set the cover design/layout.
The pages have different colors/themes you can choose from.

For this guy, I just went with basic white pages.
And I picked the cover for "The Adventures Begin" with his silly azz looking backwards at me.
(what he does when he is in Jim's chair and he is trying to get my attention. Followed by growls and grunts)

Since I was impressed, I went ahead and did a serious photobook for us 4 siblings.

I kept it as a soft book (they do offer hard back) and kinda fudged past my free 20 pages to 32 pages (I could have kept on).
Picked more of a grey stone page background
And went with a cool design I uploaded from phone for the cover and back.
Surprisingly, it was only $6 and some change plus S&H.

I used the free book for Dec, gave that one to my sister. And when I saw her reaction (she friggin loved it) , I went ahead and ordered another one (You have the option to reorder as it or edit).

I just left it as it was and hit reorder (still have 2 more to get)

But then, I get another email from another one of their sister apps.
This one was from PHOTO TILES

Quote:Turn your photos into 8x8 wall art that are ready to stick without hammering any nails.

Being as we live in a 5th wheel travel trailer, we have little to no wall space to hang stuff. Like no collage type picture frames.

Soooooooooo.......Yup, I experimented with these guys.  minusculebiggrin
I got one tile free (S&H) but added another one.

They are a tad larger than I anticipated, but it's kinda cool to be honest.
(I simply propped them on top of our slide out overhang)

The ones I ordered are the plastic ones. Very heavy duty.
No thicker than a DVD case. (do believe they offer glass tiles)

Like I said, this was just a test to see the quality and if it would be something we would like.

And well, once again, I'm impressed.
So will be ordering more for sure.

Seriously tho, for anyone interested in this kind of thing, it is good quality stuff for reasonable prices.

It has been tried and tested by yours truly.

Oh mercy!  I have so many pictures stored on my computer it's pathetic. I've been meaning to copy to a CD before my computer crashes. I'd hate to lose any of them.

This sounds like a good inexpensive plan. Thing is, I use a desktop. I only use my phone for calling people. I haven't given the Google spy network permission to steal my data, friends lists, target my location, and all that jazz.  Yes, I'm missing out on some good uses with my phone, but I prefer my privacy, if there even is such a thing anymore.

Wonder how that would work with a desk top?  Do you HAVE to have the app?
