What makes 100% ?
#5
I remember another good one about the 100% thing...

A teacher faces their class and presents a very large glass jar full to the brim with golf balls.

He asks the class to describe the jar, and they unanimously agreed that it was full.

The teacher explained that the Jar represented us, our lives, and that the golf balls represented all the things we have to do, like Work / Study etc.

He then produced a large bag of small glass marbles and procedded to empty them into the jar. The marbles slipped down into the spaces between the balls until the jar was brim-full of balls AND marbles.

He once again asked the class to think about the jar... and again they unanimously agreed that it was full up.

The teacher said that the marbles represented the things that we would LIKE to but don't think we have the time or space to do, because of all the stuff that we HAVE to do.

He then produced a big bag of sand, and emptied that into the jar. The sand slipped down into the spaces between the marbles and balls until the jar was indeed full to the brim!

The class laughed and applauded!

The teacher explained that no matter how full we think our lives are... we can always fit in something that we'd LOVE to do but NEVER get around to.
Call your Grandmother! Sing! Dance! Pet a Dog! The sand represented all ofthe things that we'd LOVE to do...

... "Describe the Jar now" he asked the class...

And, of course, they all said that it was Definitely Full now!!!!

So, the teacher opened a couple of beers and poured them into the jar....
It slipped down easily into the jar, wetting the sand until at last the jar was full of the sandy, sludgey, marbley, golf-ball mixture.

The class roared their approval, and once the acclaim had died down the teacher explained that No Matter How Full Our Lives SEEM To Be....

There is ALWAYS room for a couple of Beers!

G

PS - I had to paraphrase most of that as I couldn't remember it!!! LOL
