Massive Voter Purge
#1
Our voting system is screwed up big time. Back in 2016, New York City removed over 117,000 people from eligibility to vote because they hadn't voted in past elections. They were taken to court and given their voting rights back. Strange that is was mostly Latinos and Asians who were affected. Did no one bother to tell them the rules for voting?

August 2, 2019 an article came out that Ohio planned to purge "upwards of 230,000 voters" because they hadn't voted in the last 12 elections.
SCOTUS ruled "that states may kick people off the rolls if they skip a few elections and fail to respond to a notice from election officials.

Now we have Georgia about to rid more than 300,000 names from its voter rolls.

Why haven't people been doing their jobs and making sure our voting system stayed in check?  (Don't answer that, we know the answer.)
Of course, here comes Stacy Abrams kicking and screaming using 'Fair Fight', a voting rights group started by her when she lost the gubernatorial race. Of course, she claimed "racism" as the reason she lost.   smallnotamused

Quote:A federal judge on Monday allowed Georgia to purge 309,000 names from its voter rolls but he also scheduled a second hearing to hear additional arguments.

Quote:About 309,000 names were set to be erased from Georgia’s list of registered voters Monday night, a mass cancellation that a federal judge allowed to move forward.

A voting rights group, Fair Fight Action, said in federal court Monday that the registration cancellations target roughly 120,000 inactive voters who would otherwise be eligible to participate in elections but are being removed because they haven’t cast a ballot since at least 2012. The rest of the people on the cancellation list either moved from Georgia or mail sent to them by election officials was undeliverable.

By Tuesday morning, the number of registered voters in Georgia was set to shrink from 7.4 million to 7.1 million.

The cancellation list doesn’t show racial disparities, with the number of black and white voters roughly matching their proportion of the state’s registered voters, according to an analysis by The Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

Fair Fight Action, a voting rights group started by sore loser and 2018 failed Georgia gubernatorial candidate Stacey Abrams, immediately filed an emergency motion to stop the purge.

“Georgians should not lose their right to vote simply because they have not expressed that right in recent elections, and Georgia’s practice of removing voters who have declined to participate in recent elections violates the United States Constitution,” Fair Fight Action CEO Lauren Groh-Wargo said in a statement.

Stacey Abrams lost the Georgia gubernatorial race by over 55,000 votes, but she refused to concede and blamed racism and voter suppression from a previous voter roll purge for her lack of votes.

I don't understand what the big upset is. I have always known that if I don't vote in at least one POTUS election every four-eight years, or my local elections, I'll have to register again.
It's the responsibility for those who oversee the voting system to remove names who no longer practice one of the most important duties we have as citizens.

Three years after the election states are still finding dead people, those who have moved out of state, and duplicate voters.  I'm sure there are more states that I haven't mentioned here. The states I listed seem to have the highest number of purges.

Sigh... Let's hope they get this mess cleaned up before next November.
Better yet, pass voter ID. That's all we need.

New York City didn't need those 117,000 voters, they had plenty of Dead Voters and Illegals voting.

The Democratic States, they heard Hillary was 5 million votes short in 2016 so they came up with 30 million Dead to vote and extra Illegals.
