Honestly going for it in life and making a career path out of doing what you love takes a certain amount of courage that I never had. My dad always told me to figure out what I loved then figure out how to make a career out of it, but I've always known what I loved but at the same time had those fears that niggled the back of my mind, the ones that asked "what if doing it for a living made me come to dread what I really really enjoy?" I never did have the courage to risk it... Wanted to keep it as a joy for life too much :) So.. I commend you! RE: GUITARS!! - VioletDove - 03-22-2022 Those are absolutely beautiful. Thank you for sharing. My dad played guitar and he was so talented. If he were still alive I’m sure he’d be itching to play one of those beauties. With those I can lose myself in playing, listening, building or composing. This tune sounds appropriate, and this one is also good one And yes that is some fine craftsmanship you've done there. I have several guitars and two ukes, but none that I have built. I believe I have one of the best-smelling guitars in the world It's a Martin DC-15ME, mahogany and to stick your nose in the soundhole and sniff is a wonder. Hmmm. That really didn't sound right did it? RE: GUITARS!! - PLOTUS - 03-22-2022 Belongs to a friend of mine Oden Fong..... Its the aroma of the wood and lacquer that Martin uses. The Outlaws are one of the best southern rock bands ever. Even though they did the dual lead like most of the rest their harmonies and the way they mixed country and rock is kind like the Eagles. Side Note. Here's a fun fact many folks don't know, Linda Ronstadt, was the one who put the Eagles together. She hand picked Don Henley, Glenn Frey, Bernie Leadon, and Randy Meisner from different bands to be her back up band. She held up fairly well until her condition started kicking in and made it impossible for her to preform. Some where I read that I will never forget Roy Orbison said about her and Blue Bayou. It belongs to her now. RE: GUITARS!! - AmericanBuffalo - 03-22-2022 (03-22-2022, 04:02 AM)hounddoghowlie Wrote:I got chills watching that. RE: GUITARS!! - vonclod - 03-22-2022 I'll post up a few more guitars, first will be the one I abuse the most, Japanese made Jackson, it's about 25 years old, it's reliable, stays in tune, only 1 knob, and 1 pu, no inlays..for simple guys like me..lol I loved the finish on Mykes project, I have an amber birdseye Epi LP, pretty unique My Parker acoustic, another unique guitar, nice birdseye back and sides, not sure what material the fretboard is..plays nice, just like an electric. My EVH Wolfgang Special, nice guitar, built in Mexico..super flawless build, and fretwork..really good, she's heavy. Too many guitars!, not enough skill..lol RE: GUITARS!! - NoAngels - 03-22-2022 Nice guitars Von, that Japanese Jackson has a real Lynch ESP vibe going for it Yeah a lot of guitarists have far too many guitars (myself included) just sitting pretty in cases and hardly played I have narrowed down my playable tone collection to Strat, Tele, and PRS American made guitars to me are rock solid work horses, as are German amps RE: GUITARS!! - NoAngels - 03-22-2022 Ohh how time have changed, my old Protools HD3 system is now replaced by a 16inch MackBook Pro and a USBc audio interface here is my tele, plays as good as she looks RE: GUITARS!! - FauxMulder - 03-22-2022 Ok here are a few. The ES 335 is a kit guitar I built for a friend. This is my PRS. I put Seymore Duncan distortion pickups in it. Changed knobs to black and locking tuners. It had all clear hardware on it which I wasn't a fan of. These are 3 kit guitars. You've already seen the 335. The SG was for another friend and the LP was for myself. This is my Martin that I love. The first picture I was sending to my wife from the guitar store asking for permission Book matched back Ok that's it for now. Maybe more later. RE: GUITARS!! - NoAngels - 03-22-2022 Lovely, and PRS hit it out of the park with their bird inlays. Utter perfection |
