I don't know about vampires, but it seems to keep mosquitos at bay - which, to my way of thinking, are just miniature vampires anyhow! I can recall my great-grandpa keeping a bowl of quartered onions on the kitchen table at all times. He'd pick 'em up and eat the quarters just like he was eating a quartered apple, and worked in the fields into his 80's, every day. He's the only person I've ever watched putting up hay shocks by hand, with a pole and a pitchfork - and a cradle scythe... and that was when he was in his 80's. Dad taught me how to use a horse and a vine to gather the stuff up for shocking, but grandpap was the only person I ever saw actually doing it on a regular basis. He was born in 1883, so life growing up was a bit different for him, a little less technological than the rest of us.

Baking soda; so many helpful things it does, and soooo cheap! I'm surprised Big Pharma hasn't found a way to ban this from consumers.
