Would YOU? - guohua - 08-08-2017 Quote:Would you fly in a plane with no pilot?Would You? Honestly, they are saying it's Safer, that most accidents are caused by Pilot Error. Quote:Commercial airplanes already possess many automated functions, but pilots will tell you they can’t do everything a trained human can do. The airline industry, however, thinks it can save $35 billion dollars a year by going to a completely automated, pilot-free plane. My idea of an Engineer inventing robotics flying aircraft is this, I see a Nose Picking, Bugger Eating Moron In A Long Sleeved Shirt With Pencils In His Pocket. NO! RE: Would YOU? - gordi - 08-08-2017 I think it would work fine. Until something went wrong.... then who decides where best to ditch? or whether to turn back etc. ? That's where a computer will never be able to properly replace a human being. G RE: Would YOU? - guohua - 08-08-2017 (08-08-2017, 11:33 PM)gordi Wrote: I think it would work fine. That's Right, Could a Computer Do This? RE: Would YOU? - Mystic Wanderer - 08-09-2017 With all the things being uncovered lately about how planes can be taken over and controlled from the ground to make them crash (if someone important is aboard that needs to be silenced), and all the hi-jacking, no wonder no one wants to be a pilot these days. Computers? NO. I agree with Gordi. A human needs to be there to take over in certain situations. But, I don't fly, so... whatever. A computer cannot value life as it is has no self-awareness. It will make decisions that could be construed as 'judgements', but it's not influenced by facts and variables, it just follows a generalised script created by humans. And human-error is real. It'll be interesting to hear 727Sky's view on this. |
