The real battle to come, and the only savior of the human race...
Posted by: MisterSpock - 07-02-2020, 07:35 AM - Forum: Computers, Internet and the Digital World - Replies (13)

It's 2020 and everyone is watching as the big news is the whole pending "boogaloo", while I can see it, I don't think it's the pivot point of the human race that will really usher in the next 100 years of humanity. And I'm actually happy, because what possibly will and should be the turning point, maybe in the early stages as if starts to boil deep within the human psyche.

The anti tech movement, which may almost become religious at some point, will be such a great savior of humanity.

I'm sure we've all seen it, at some point, in some scifi classic of a dystopian future. The almost theistic rejection of tech into the point of "setting" humanity back a thousand years.

I think its one of many possibilities, but possibly one of the best. The concept of humans rejecting what has been pushed on them for the past 20 years, in order to preserve thousands of years of survival, just seems "right".

Being integrated into a worldwide instantaneous social network, GPS tracked, pinged and eventually the implementation of bio chips is the antithesis of our biological survival. I think it may be coming.

I hope that when the next few steps are coming into play, people revolt, attack their "digital saviors" and view even an ipad user as a heretic and strip them of their sins and purify them in the fires of the analog gods....

A win for gun rights and the GOP

The louder the Left screams ‘cultural revolution!’ the more pushback they are getting from a growing number of Americans who are fed up with the assault on our country from within, as evidenced by a resounding election victory by a conservative mom who once pushed back big time against Beto O’Rourke.
Lauren Boebert, who defended the Second Amendment like a boss at one of the former Democratic presidential contender’s rallies last year, bringing her national attention, won a GOP primary in Colorado on Tuesday.

sponsor

And, as the Western Journal reported, President Donald Trump took notice:
President Donald Trump retweeted a post from Boebert in which she said, “I am a mother to 4 boys. My husband and I are raising them to be strong men! I refuse to send my children into a socialist nation. Their freedom IS my motivator! Threaten the liberty of Americans, and I’ll be there to hold you accountable!”
“Congratulations on a really great win!” Trump said.

Interestingly, Trump initially threw his support behind the incumbent, GOP Rep. Scott Tipton, the Western Journal added. But Boebert blew him away, 55 percent to 45 percent.
Boebert, who operates Shooters Grill, an eatery in Rifle, Colo., where all waitresses openly carry sidearms, now will face off against Democrat Diane Mitsch Bush in November.
“I’m excited and eager to take this fight on to the Democrats and represent the people of the 3rd Congressional District, just like I’ve been promising them I would,”
she told the Denver Post after the polls closed.

Her campaign website is equally unapologetic in terms of her loving the country and stuff.
“There is a battle for the heart and soul of our country that I intend on helping win,” Boebert says on the website. “I’m running for Congress to stand up for our conservative values, address our current representatives’ failed promises, and put far-left Democrats back in their place.”
And she is exactly right. Today’s Democrat Party is morphing into a party that where historical authoritarians like Josef Stalin, Mao Zedong, Fidel Castro and the Taliban would feel comfy.
It’s no longer the party of JFK or LBJ or even Bill Clinton, when there still were actual ‘moderate’ Democrats who often put aside political ideology to do what is best for the country.
Now, it attracts blatant, out-and-out Marxists and anti-Semites like Alexandria Ocasio-Cortex, Rashida Tlaib, and Ilhan Omar. Even Joe Biden is being dragged Leftward, as is Nancy Pelosi.
At the same time, Democrat-aligned Leftists in the entertainment industry, academia, public education, and the arts have taken over the pop culture and have spent decades inculcating today’s Millennials in Marxist/socialist ideology.

So yes, we literally are locked in a fight for the soul of America: Does it remain free, liberty-oriented, and fundamentally fair or will it be taken over by intolerant bigots who judge not by the content of character but by the color of skin, just exactly the opposite of what Martin Luther King wanted.
“Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, the Squad and the rest of these left-wing lunatics are taking a wrecking ball to our country while our current representative stays utterly silent,” Boebert notes further.
And remaining silent is no longer an option.

Thinking of running taps, waterfalls and fountains is well known to help one urinate.

Similarly, thinking of landslides and lorries unloading soil can help even the most constipated person clear their bowels...

Pig Poo... The rise of the Swine...

Pulled from the « Annals » of the other site, this is yet another of our mishaps which happened back in 2013.

Sadly the below mentioned culprit has passed away, but his stench lives on to this very day…

So here we go...

It's Springtime here in the beautiful rolling hills of central France, the land of fine wine and gastronomic orgasms...

I am lucky to live smack bang in the middle of the countryside away from the stress and pollution of the city.

The birds are chirruping away and the bumble bees are buzzing from flower to flower gathering pollen...

The old Wisteria that i worked so hard on pruning this winter on the front of my house is coming into blossom, promising much awaited fragrances and pollenizing insects to bring a little joy into our hearts after these long winter months :

As well as the Wisteria, the whole garden is coming back to life :

We are hoping for wheelbarrows full of cherries this year if the bastard sparrows and fat labrador don't get to them first!

[Image: images?q=tbn%3AANd9GcTX224-hKKWOhuOOpHHR...w&usqp=CAU]

The pond is coming back to life too with its orchestra of croaking frogs at the crack of dawn fall of night :

[Image: 3b0f5b35-bd40-4f76-9596-6bb03e8f4dff_16x9_600x338.jpg]

The fields around my house are also coming back to life promising a great yield in Sunflowers and rape seed.

[Image: 75166561-funny-sunflower-with-sunglasses...miling.jpg]

I consider myself and my family very lucky indeed to have the natural surroundings that we have been praised with and would never give up where we live... EVEN if we were offered 6 times the price of our house...

HOWEVER...

Yesterday we had a fantastically rather hot day with temperatures of around 26 to 28° and got the BBQ out for the first time in order to have a really good nosh up of some local produced sausages and ribs, all washed down with a nice chilled bottle or two of Touraine Rosé...

The cinders (we only use vine wood for BBQs) were nice and hot, the sausages and meat were on the BBQ and the Rosé was served... and we were all awaiting a great evening meal seated underneath the parasol whilst taking in the beauty of the garden and surrounding countryside under the slowly setting sun...

[Image: 4TOGn5Vxfca3E-aO29pKIQ2hqQQLKiEECk9RZHSK...e3fa4ab6a6]

SUDDENLY...

From out of no-where appeared our neighbour on a massive big tractor trundling down the small road in front of our house who is a farmer and owner of the land around us... he is also a good friend :

We gave him a wave as we usually do and raised our chilled glasses of Rosé up to him and he waved cheerfully back with a wicked grin on his face...

Why the wicked grin we asked?...

AND THEN WE FOUND OUT...

It is muck spreading time!!!

Yes, thats right, the same muck that emanates from the back end of these buggers!

Tons and tons and tons of the stuff spluttering out of the back of his muck spreader... unleashing purulent waves of pungent pig manure into the fields around our house...

ARRGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH.......

As we all ran, tripping and stumbling back into the house trying not to spill our glasses of chilled Rosé and also trying to stop the dribbling dogs from pinching our sausages off the BBQ our farmer neighbour cheerily waved at us as his muck spreader chugged slowly past the front of our house in the field in front splattering thick globs of pig poo all over the place!

Needless to say, our first BBQ of the year was a total disaster...

AND TO TOP IT ALL OFF... the sausages were inedible as impregnated with the smell of PIG POO (so the dribbling hounds got them in the end!) AND we now have to live cooped up in the house with all windows shut tight for about 5 days until the smell disappears (even with all the windows shut we are reeked out), meaning that we cannot profit from the awakening garden and the beautiful scents of blooming springtime flowers!

Bastard...

Kindest smelly respects

Heart A silly what if just for fun!
Posted by: Freija - 07-02-2020, 03:15 AM - Forum: Off Topic - Replies (42)

This is just for fun so don’t get your knickers in a twist!

Okay, so my IRL BFF came over last night with a 12-pack we killed and we bonged up the last of my flower and in our silliness around 3:00 in the morning, we proposed the following hypothetical to one another:

Quote:If you were in a serious, committed, loving and all living together 3-way type relationship with two other people at the same time, would those two other people both be of the same sex?

In this environment, I can pretty much guess the results but thought it might be a fun question anyway? My girl friend answered as I expected she would. I didn’t answer the way she thought I would. We had a laugh over it but then again we were pretty baked.

How about you? If you were in this scenario, would you rather…

Not picking on bunny rabbits here. But taking my girls camping this weekend and wanted to keep going with the life skills lessons. Plan for the weekend:

Setup a snare and catch something small (rabbits squirrel)

Dress, skin, and cook said catch.

Pan fish while the kiddos are swimming, but pull them in to gut and fillet.

Probably going to skip friction fire but teach them with a striker this time.

Tick identification and removal with mom's help.

Ghost stories by the fire.

Smores (although after making my girls watch Sandlot, they got the scoop on where to put the mallow  tinylaughing )

So tell me RN3, what am I missing with 4 solid Wifi free days to really get down to earth with the kiddos?

  A Conversation With My Mom
Posted by: kdog - 07-02-2020, 02:55 AM - Forum: Daily Chit Chat - Replies (9)

My son's virtual graduation is tomorrow online at 6 pm. I let my mom know a few days ago and sent a link via facebook messenger.

A few years ago, my sister got here a tablet and cell internet access so she could communicate with the family and keep up to date with everyone.

I send the link again today and messaged her to make sure she got it. She responded that she would have to go to a truck stop to get free wi-fi to view it. I'm like, you are on facebook at all hours of the night, meaning she has internet at home. Mind you , my dad has never had or paid for cable, gets everything over the air for free and definitely no internet nor a computer.

So, I tried to explain to my mom she has access to the internet.

My One and Only UFO Sighting
Posted by: Schmoe1 - 07-02-2020, 02:00 AM - Forum: UFOs, Aliens and Universal Questions - Replies (38)

This happened about 7 years ago.

I was working night shift.  It was a warm, clear night, I believe this happened in July or August.

I've always been a stargazer, I love getting lost in all those points of light.  On this particular night, I went out to smoke a cigarette and as I was watching the sky, I saw what I at first thought was a satellite.

I've seen satellites before, they just look like "slow" moving stars.  They move on a steady trajectory to the naked eye.  This object I saw appeared to be at least 2 to 4 times the size of a star or satellite in the night sky.

It was definitely brighter than all the stars and had no discernible shape.  I know it's hard to judge distance, but I felt like I could just tell it was in space, or damn near it.  It didn't make a sound.

At first it moved on a steady trajectory when I noticed it, and continued on it's trajectory for maybe 5-10 seconds, but then it moved in a way I can only describe as a pulse.  It continued on its trajectory, but it turned into a very quick acceleration/stop...acceleration/stop....sort of like if you were underwater and saw a rock skipping the surface.  It did this a few times until it disappeared from my line of sight behind a group of buildings.

Each "pulse" movement seemed to cover a great distance, if you held thumb and pointer finger an inch apart at arms length to the sky, about that distance.

Anybody ever see anything like that?

Shut Up and Watch it. . . . Chernobyl

Was sitting in the livingroom recovering from my shoulder butchery this moring when my youngest son popped on "hernobyl" on the HBO Channel we have through Amazon.

As an older person, I lived through the drama of Chernobyl.  I watched it on the news.

This drama gave a new dimension to the who affair.

I strongly reccomend this to anyone who has a pulse.

Just shut up and watch it.
